《New World +》Ch.2 The lost

He felt parched as his eyes slowly opened to see a blurry blue sky Andrew's vision wavered as he almost blacked out the rough ground poked into him. He felt wrong in a way he couldn't describe he knew he shouldn't be here, but where was here? where was he or better yet "who" was he shaking his head he cleared those thoughts away. 'This is no time to be having an existential crisis he knew who he was, he was Andrew ...Andrew?... well whatever last name aren't that important anyway' slowly getting up he felt his legs give out under his weight almost stumbling. Looking around some what embarrassed to have almost fallen over from standing up he was surprised to find plenty of people he recognized.
The school "trip" if it could be called that was meant to be some kind of summer camp but Andrew had his doubts since the teachers never talked about it and his parents never asked him if he wanted to go. One week he was minding his own business enjoying his summer break next thing he knew he was packing up for a month long summer camp that almost ninety percent of the school was also going too. It was fishy as hell if you asked him but he had obediently packed and was shipped off with the rest of the poor bastards to the "nearby" national park. 'Yeah near by as in a twelve hour drive, nearby my ass' Andrew gritted his teeth subconsciously as he remembered his frustrations at the time although he guessed he should be putting quotations over the obediently part of his thoughts as he had managed to sneak his VR set and motion controls with him on his trip and helped others from the guild do the same.
The raid against the crystal cavern's dragon was a really important event for the Fangs that if completed would have solidified it as a major guild in the game. Wait wasn't he in the middle of the raid right now? taking another look around Andrew took in his surroundings they were in a grove of some kind a fairly small area maybe two or three hundred feet wide surrounded by what seemed to be a forest. The dense grouping of trees made it hard to see very far past the clearing and the ground was covered in a verdant carpet of "reeds?" the bright blue sky shone with a vibrant color he had never seen before, feeling a tickling sensation in his hands he looked down to see a strange "four legged?" bug resting on it for a few seconds before darting off, the "clover?" like leaves of the nearby trees rustled with the passing of a shallow breeze. 'Oh fuck' Andrew's mind started turning as it started to scrutinize the world around him 'oh fuck no.'

"Hey Andy!" a familiar voice shouted out but he was to overwhelmed to recognize the familiar moniker.
'this isn't home!' Andrew shivered as he looked at the alien landscape he suddenly felt the need to go out into the world to make it his own, to conquer, to breed, to eat good food, he'd learn all there is to know about this world and make it his home. all it would take was one step and he'd have everything he ever wanted, it all existed before him within the sea of trees. Getting ready to make a beeline for the woods he was snapped out of his stupor by a sudden smack to his shoulder.
"Hey Andy, come on man don't ignore me it's rude!" turning in shock to the young man Andrew knew as Jace "jeez do I look that bad?" Jace asked looking at Andrews horrified expression made him pretty uneasy Jace lifted his hand to scratch at his sandy colored hair while he squinted his blue eyes.
Andrew just shook his head "sorry Jace" he mumbled as his thoughts turned inward 'What the hell was that' his thoughts returned to what he was thinking a moment ago he had been seconds away from leaping into an alien forest the thought had risen so suddenly and had been so compelling he almost felt like it had been his own thought shaking his head again he looked up at Jace, his friend had probably saved his life.
The sensation of wrongness essed up on him slightly as did some of the confusion that clouded his mind. Looking around with his newfound clarity he saw that the other students were becoming more active a few even started to stand a walk around and a few more he realized were staring out into the forest in a rather unhealthy manner. Andrews anger started to rise as he rationalized what he saw. Someone was fucking with them he didn't know who or what or how but seeing other aimlessly move around like lost sheep pissed him off lifting his hand to his mouth he shouted louder than he had ever in his life.

"HEY IF YOU PART OF THE FANG OR THE BAND GROUP UP ON ME!!" the other students in the surrounding were shocked and started to stare at him some even started to move toward him.
"Whow!... what?" Jace asked puzzled by his sudden outburst "Are you ok?"
"I'm fine Jace." still angry Andrews response was more curt than he had intended deciding to ignore a sceptical looking Jace he started moving when his foot kicked against a bag near his foot recognizing it as his own he lifted it over his head while shouting out "OH AND BRING YOUR STUFF WHEN YOU DO."
He felt some gratification when everyone started to look around for their stuff even Jace let out a surprised oh before dashing back the way he came chuckling to himself Andrew decided to busy himself with sorting out his stuff not that he didn't know what was in there already he hadn't been able to fit much in his beg other than his VR set, a month's worth of clothes and a couple bottles of gatorade. So he was surprised when he found that other than his clothes many with looked torn a bunch of knives more than he'd have ever willingly owned. Heck his parents wouldn't have let him have that many, some sewing thread and needles a boat load of granola and protein bars, he didn't even like protein bars, a medical kit that was filled with pills he didn't know the use for, about fifty feet of rope, and eight ...no ten rolls of duct tape.
'Who even needs ten rolls of duct tape?!' well apparently he did Andrew was almost convinced that this wasn't his bag but the piece of type he found with his name on it said otherwise. looking up he was surprised to find Jace and a large group were heading towards him realizing that he had basically ordered all of them to come to him his mind raced as he tried to come up with what he was going to ask these people to do, suddenly feeling way out of his league and very, very tired he couldn't help but sigh.

But be forewarned. It won’t be easy. I'll be writing this fast, so keep in mind there's likely to be typos that we'll correct as we go. Developmental Editing by Lev.
