《The Life and Times of Fiera Celosis》Detour: Kai Laiken

If there something more Kai Laiken loved other than Snow Days, it was walking on Snow Days. It wasn't that he was specifically interested in snow or water himself, the way some of his peers were, he just felt a calm affinity with snow & rain, that he often chalked up to his blood and more often to his innate humanness.
So it was rather a big shock for him the events that had transpired through the day, starting from the announcement of Fiera Celosis and Rose that morning, to getting a small perspective about his mother that evening, to someone in his vicinity getting shot by a statement-making black arrow that seemed to have no sane impact on the victim.
"You like this about as much as I do, don't you?" Aaron said.
They had been standing outside the Infirmary rather darkly left to each other's thoughts. Kai had no idea, how Aaron would be feeling right now, seeing as to how obvious and insultingly Fiera made her distrust in him appear. He gave a brief nod.
"I'll ask Zare to send in some stuff, and what about you, did you get injured anywhere?" Aaron asked, slightly ruffling his hair. Kai shook his head. "Very well, then. Why don't you go rest up before the Feast?"
Without waiting for an answer Aaron turned to leave.
"What do I do with this?" Kai asked twirling the arrow.
"Keep it safe. We'll see how we can deal with this." Aaron said. Kai wondered briefly if he should deposit the arrow to Terrol to see if there was any significance about the material it was made from, but chose not to do any such. He might have to tell the entire story and he had promised not to, on Fiera's account.

He twirled it again, this time thinking about what she had said about his mother, Neer. Ice-sprites. He had read his mother's paper on them, but maybe he will stop by the library to have another look.
Well at least he had something to do today.

My name is Alexander Halesworth, sole heir to a prestigious ducal house. Or rather, that’s what my identity is supposed to be now. I still haven’t gotten used to this whole situation yet. Not long ago I was just a humble store clerk. But shortly after getting into an unfortunate road accident, I woke up in the setting of an infamous Otome Game called “Lost in Love: A Heart Throbbing Romance in a Fantasy World~!” Yeah. It’s even trashier than it sounds. Don’t judge me, it was a gift from a friend. *cough* Anyway, this situation wouldn’t be too bad, except I ended up in the body of the worst possible person: the villainess’ older brother. Alexander has great looks, near limitless wealth, and a thoroughly rotten personality. In most of the game’s endings I end up dead or exiled. My family also falls to ruin, and don’t even get me started on what happens to my evil little sister. Well, whatever. If that’s the hand fate dealt me, then I just have to prevent the bad ends, right? And if I have no choice but to deal with this family’s baggage, I may as well enjoy myself while I’m at it. Being filthy rich and powerful has its benefits. For example, this cute maid who I get to tease whenever I want. (Male lead otome reincarnation, inspired by Akuyaku Reijo Ni Koi Wo Shite and similar works)
