《Re: Globus Online (Completed)》Chapter 8. The Assassins
Advertisement
After the girls log off I leave the house in search of the assassin's. I'm trusting my other self to handle them.
I use my minimap to locate every being that is not a student and it seems a huge group is near the front gates... Assassin's coming from the front gate? Hahahah... Idiotic assassin's. I know of their existence and I can kill them all.
I run to the front gate and get there basically instantly if you were a normal human being.
I stop infront of the group and they are clad in black light armour and cloaks and assassin masks.
"Cliché assassin clothing, check." (Ethos)
"Who is there!?" (Assassin)
"Cliché assassin surprise, check." (Ethos)
"There he is! Quickly kill him before he notifies the other teachers!" (Assassin)
"Cliché quick kill line, check. That's three out of three. Time to die." (Ethos)
The battle notification pops up.
*Click*
"Ooh... Thanks my other self for leaving me with so many... Enemies...." (Ethos v2)
I run infront of the assassin's and grab one of them by the neck. I use my god-like powers to create a sphere of darkness around us so they cannot escape.
"So.. Who hired you?" (Ethos v2)
The assassin keeps his mouth check and grabs a knife and tries to stab it into my eye but it just breaks in half when the tip connects to my eye. I did not even feel that it touched me though..
I grab his left arm while still holding his neck.
"You going to answer or no?" (Ethos v2)
I start slowly pulling and he realizes he is about to lose his arm and starts trashing his other arm on my head in hopes of hurting me enough to get loose. His friends are staring at me and trying to get away... Probably not the strength types but the speed ones so it's understandable. The man who is hitting me is now headbutting me because his arm is now completely wrecked...
"Teeth? Your teeth are flying everywhere." (Ethos v2)
I shoot a small light into the air to see everything. I pull the mans head off as I notice he won't speak.

"One man down... Eight men to go? One woman to go aswell? Well... The men probably won't speak so they are useless. Iris and Jil could probably convince the woman... The men seem to be way more well trained than her viewing their movements..." (Ethos v2)
They all run at me but the woman is doing sloppier and slower movements and is wasting time with some useless movements while the other assassin's are doing professional looking ones.
"Sad... So many fine assassin's tried to murder somebody while I was protecting the academy..." (Ethos v2)
I grab the woman in an instant and pin her to a tree.
"Stay here... I'll be back for you. You seem new to the assassin business anyways." (Ethos v2)
I use earth magic to make a small cage for her and leave. My grin returns as I instantly teleport to a man's body and grab his dagger. The men are running towards the women with the intent to shut her up huh? No can do...
I teleport infront of them and instantly cut their tendons so they fall down face first.
"Bad assassin's, very bad. You almost killed the only person who would be willing to give me information... And I still need to convince her that assassination is bad..." (Ethos v2)
I look at the men and back at the girl and notice... Three people are players out of the ten.
"Three players! Two male and one female player are working to kill people in the academy! What jobs do you have?" (Ethos v2)
The male assassin's crawl at me while throw daggers that break the moment they touch my body. I wait until they reach my feet and start hitting me. I crouch down and one of them tries to pull me into his dagger.
"Come on... I won't kill you if you speak." (Ethos v2)
The men keep hitting me and I hear a dagger breaking behind my back. The woman hit a dagger into my back...
"Oh not you too... I'll just make this short then... Not quick, just short." (Ethos v2)

I grab one player and start pulling his limbs apart while making sure he is still alive to make sure he decides not to mess with me again. He dies after I pull of his right arm that is the last limb except the chest and head.
Blood flies everywhere when I do this to the other seven men and especcially the NPC A.I's... They had a lot of blood compared to the players.
Only the woman is alive now... I make the sphere of darkness that I cast at the start dissapear and the light aswell. I grab the woman's cage as she tries to batter me with different weapons from her inventory.
"Come on now. It's all useless. You could log out but you'll log back in inside the cage because it set your log-in point to the cage already... And you cannot kill yourself even if you bite your tongue. You aren't trained enough to even be prepeared to bite your tongue..." (Ethos v2)
The woman calms down and the End Battle notification pops up.
*Click*
"Ah... There we go. Seems the battle is over. Hmm? A prisoner? I guess I still need to figure out who sent them after the academy... But why the woman? Ah not my problem... My other self knows way more about battle..." (Ethos)
The woman looks at me strangely and I set her down.
"I'm sorry if I hurt you before. May I know your name?" (Ethos)
"My.. My name is... Emilia..." (Emilia)
"It's nice to meet you Emilia. My name is Ethos. We are about to go and meet Iris and Jil... May I ask why are you attacking this academy?" (Ethos)
"The quest said that we just need to kill the headmaster... He's a respawnable NPC after all..." (Emilia)
"Actually he isn't anymore. No NPC character is respawnable anymore. Only the monsters in the field respawn now. A huge change is going on in Globus Online Emilia. A change that makes it more realistic. Well... If I let you out, will you still stay with me? If you don't my other self might pop up and kill you..." (Ethos)
"I'll come with you... I saw what you can do... Even if I used camouflage spells it would be useless because you would close the distance too fast for me to cast them in a row so you could only see me for a second..." (Emilia)
"Thanks, Emilia. I really don't like imprisoning people. I'd rather have them cooperate with me." (Ethos)
I break the cage and walk to my house with Emilia following me. It seems she isn't going to attack me huh... Good.
We go to my house and sit down. Now only to wait for Iris and Jil to log back on...
"Emilia, if you want to log off now you can. Iris and Jil will log on in three to four hours." (Ethos)
"Thank you... I'll just take a quick nap in real life then... What about you though?" (Emilia)
"Ah don't worry about me... I don't need to log off anymore..." (Ethos)
I say that in a sad tone while looking happy but if you look closely you can see sadness in my eyes.
"I'll see you soon, Ethos... I promise I'll log back in because it's no use running from you... You'd probably find me again and if somebody dies in-game they get reset back to level 1 so I really don't want to get my levels reset... It took me so hard to get to this level... Even if it is around twenty..." (Emilia)
"And you don't seem like the type to lie. I'll see you later, Emilia." (Ethos)
She logs off and the last thing she sees is my face. I look at my minimap one more time but something bugs me...
There's a small dot flying around the upper floor... I click on the dot to identify it...

A fairy... Ah... I'll go and find it with Iris and Jil later. Just me would be kind of boring.
And so I wait.
Author - Can anybody guess what the fairy's date of birth is connected to? (HINT - An anime)

Fallen
He hadn't even gained a consciousness yet that he was bound to lose everything if he ever came to life. He hadn't offended anyone, but they offended him. He hadn't cursed anyone, they cursed him. He hadn't killed anyone, they killed everyone related to him. Thus, he silently vowed. "They plan to offend me for their own interest? I shall give them plenty of reason to do so. Do they want to curse me? Please do so, since I'm more than willing to be your living bane. Kill me? Sadly, you won't be the last having this type of wishful thinking."- The Devil -------------------- I think that I can manage 1 chapter per week now, maybe 2 but certainly not three. PS: As I think that there should be small mistakes here left and right, I'd gladly welcome a proofreader.
