"Bad night." He muttered as he closes his eyes.
"Ice isn't? Why do you like ice?"
"I think because ice is beautiful? It's cold but it's beautiful. I don't know other reason but i like ice."
"Even it will make you froze to death?"
"Hahaha, everything has its own bad. I rather play with ice than with fire."
"Why don't you play both?"
Evan opened his eyes. It wasn't a nightmare at all. Rather, it's bringing back his old memories. Evan stood from the bed and then felt a pressure for a moment.
"Magic?" He muttered and went outside the room. The corridor is empty and the light from the moon entering through the windows.
"Hm?" Evan squinted his eyes towards the darkness on the corridor. Several people walking towards him. No, not people but undead.
"What?" Evan looks disbelief. He then looking at the other side of the corridor and found some undead coming at him too.
"Why didn't you die?"
Evan shivered.
"You monster."
Evan took out his sword and hold it with his both hands.
"Die-"
Slash
One of the undead's head fell to the floor. Evan cut it with cold eyes. The undead with the head fell to the ground suddenly vanish like dust.
"Not a real undead? Is this an illusion?"
Evan keep slashing the undead and they are disappeared like dust. Normally undead will leave the dead bodies lying around but it turned into dust. Evan pinched his cheek but no reaction to the surrounding. He then cut his hand a bit but no reaction too.
"Strong illusion? Who casted-"
Evan felt the pressure again and the remaining undead disappeared. Evan hesitated but then put his sword back inside his ring and open his door.

"?!"
"Oh, Evan? You finally come back."
A familiar face, his mother greeted her while cooking something. Evan froze and standing still. He certainly knew that this is an illusion but what's the purpose?
"Hello mother." Evan said after returning to his sense.
"What's wrong Evan?" His mother asked with worry.
"Nothing, what do you cook today?"
"Nothing special. Just a porridge." She said with smile.
"Is that so?" Evan walks to his mother.
"Can i help you to cut the potato?"
"No, it's sharp. I can't let you trying to cut your fingers again."
"I promise it won't happen." Evan took the knife and cut the potato.
"See?" Evan smiled. His mother staring at the potato and looking at Evan.
"You cut it well! Did miracle fall upon us?" His mother happily said it. Evan sighed but then smiled.
"But i think that miracle must end."
Katrina's face froze and looking at Evan while frowned.
"Why?"
"Because i had enough."
Evan felt the pressure again and his mother and the surrounding disappeared and become his normal room.
Evan walks outside the room and found the plain field with a girl stood far away from her.
Then, the plain field suddenly covered by dead bodies and she stood alone with blood on her white dress. She is looking at Evan with no expression.
"Tell me. Why i am a tool of massacre?" She said.
"You aren't a tool. You're a person."
"Then why this body doesn't feel anything against you?"
"That's because you're not her."
Again, the pressure. The scenery changed into burning village and in front of him there is Evan.
This Evan has black hair and red eyes.
"You're too weak." The black-haired Evan said.

"I am weak and i'm accept it."
"Your loved ones will die because of you!"
"That is the reason why i want to become strong."
"No matter how strong you are, you are always alone."
"That's you." Evan start walking towards the black Evan.
"And that is also me. Individuals are meant to be alone after all but they will make a group and a society.”
"Then, do you wish to be alone again?"
"No. I do not, but by becoming stronger and stronger. I'll becoming alone." Evan hold grip his hand and looking at the black with bitter smile.
"Why do you keep that burden?"
"Because strong one must bear responsibility and the weak one must understood and work hard. Strong and weak need each other."
"And yet you are alone without someone by your side."
"It is...."
Pressure.
The scenery changed into countless corpses lying and there is a skeleton stood with a dark armor and hold a staff. His eyes glowing a blue fire.
"Emotions aren't needed. Such a thing must be thrown away far away."
"That's your weakness."
"To obtain power, that is the path you must choose."
"And you becoming alone."
"It was inevitable."
"Then you choose the most selfish thing."
"A countless death for human body and new life."
"But you don't regret it until you died once."
"Life has regret and we must bear it till reaching our end."
"Even the path is endless."
"Yes...."
Evan opened his eyes. What he saw is his room's ceiling. He sits on the bed and looking at his hand.
"What a long nightmare." He said with ashen face and soaked body with sweat.

The Loyal Ones [Dark Biopunk Fantasy]
TLDR; A slave monster survives horror, war and servitude, while trying to live with himself. Thralls are a race of monstrous slave soldiers, in a universe where biological magic takes the place of technology. Centuries ago, their ancestors were desperate humans, who volunteered to be transformed for the Poison War. Today their unfortunate descendants are still soldiers and laborers. In contract law they are 'corporate wards'; slaves owned largely by arms dealers. Dally Harper starts this story as a champion cage fighter. He is one of the 'lucky' ones. It's all downhill from there. Content Warning: Explicit violence and gore, slavery, implied sexual assault. None of these are framed as positive or glorified, however they do have a strong impact on the plot and main characters.
