Chapter 10 - Preparations And Hacka's Perspective
POV Malando Empire’s ???
After conquering Patrick island, we sailed forth and easily captured Port Grumpert. The march to Lessia continues, we took our time since those Crimea Dukedom bastards won’t stand a chance against the might of the Empire!
POV Crimea Dukedom
Damn it! Our forces only add up to 36,000. The local lords could only provide so much, we just have to hope that we can last for a few days until reinforcement comes in from the northern lords.
“Your Majesty, it seems the country called Raquam is joining us. They need a place to plant a base down, their forces will arrive within a day is what they said.”
“What? Are they sending us wyverns? We might be able to win this with wyvern riders.”
Wyverns are very hard to tame and usually dying after being born in a facility. A wyvern rider equals ~250 common footmen, it’s considered a war ace. The Crimea Dukedom currently has 0 wyvern riders but the Malando Empire has 400 in their arsenal and their mage corps are very powerful so the chances that we win are very slim.
“We just have to pray that we can overcome this crisis.”
POV Shiro
“ORDER ALL ALAVIABLE SHIPS TO SET FORTH!”
“Shiro-sama, that’s a very stupid idea.”
“You’re stupid! Those Crobian things sold at the street stall for 3 copper, it’s teriyaki except using monster meat! Once you eat one, you can’t stop.”
“Maybe that’s why you were staying at a cheap inn despite gaining several gold coins from the adventurer’s guild.”
“I couldn’t stop, before I knew it I only had 2 silvers left.”
The Crobian. Crobian…. Crobian………
“Shiro-sama, you should stop drooling on the table.”
“Ueh!? Ah, anyway. Order all available units to set- kek!”

Hacka suddenly drops a chop on my head mid-sentence. Hey! That’s child abuse right there!
“We’re only sending 6 ships out and 1,000 personnel. There’s a riot going on right now so we need some personnel to patrol the water and guard the government buildings.”
“We must hurry and send out the reinforcement then! When are they coming?”
The surroundings had a very weird atmosphere, the location was a famous bar in the capital and several people around us gave us a weird stare. Maybe they were jealous that I got to eat so many Crobians.
“Oi, little kid. This is a bar for grown men, move outta here, children like you should be sleeping now.”
“Urusai wa! I’m not a kid, Damn it!”
“A lil girl like you should shut up, you over there with glasses, quiet your kid down won’t ya and go somewhere else to play.”
This guy is annoying. I shall personally extinguish you.
“I call forth thee, thou power art heavens. Extinguish this- Ueh!”
Hacka landed another chop on me and I bit my tongue, I should demote him quickly.
“Shiro-sama, it’s best if you don’t destroy the Crobian stores. You wanted more right?”
“Uuuu…. Fwine, you shall live.”
“Who the hell are you? What kind of kid knows spellcraft.”
“Ah, I apologize for my superior’s actions. I’m Vice-minister of the defense ministry of Raquam, Hacka Von Lostio. To my right is the defense minister Shiro Ra Von Lesse.”
The air suddenly turned cold, maybe it’s the night wind. The guy who was picking a fight from before suddenly ran out of the bar.
{bzzzzz bzzzzz- this is Aqua 1. Over.}
The hand-held radio began buzzing, I pulled it out and answered.
“Hello, Shiro here. Over.”

{bz- ah, Shiro-sa-zzz ma, we need you to report back at the inn. Over.}
“Roger. See ya.”
I turned off the signal and headed back to the luxuriously prepared house next to the palace.
POV Hacka
I was just a young person working at a foreign base, I was considered a strategist with good potential in the RMNF. While on a patrol around the waters of Raquam one day, we encountered some hijacked battleships. We were overwhelmed since the hijacked fleet had 8 battleships and 3 cruisers, we only had 1 battleship and 4 cruisers, it was around the time in which terrorism was at its peak almost taking over a minor country south.
Two of our cruisers were badly damaged and reinforcement was yet to come, the nearby patrolling ships were 32km away. Just as we had lost hope, all 8 of the enemy battleships had their turrets blow up and a person flew onto the deck of the ship I was on.
“Wow”
I leaked out my surprise staring at the little girl, the prodigious Shiro of the Lesse house; an infamous ducal house known to be the closest to the Royal family, producing many geniuses.
The hijacked ships tried to escape but were rounded up by the nearby patrolling fleet. The cute little girl was greeted and thanked by everyone aboard the ship, I kept my distance since it looked bothersome to thank her now.
“Hey, what’s your name?”
“Usually one would introduce themselves before asking. Anyway, I’m Hacka Von Listia from the Listia Earldom.”
“I’m sure you already know me, I’m Shiro Von Lesse from the Lesse ducal house. I’m 12, anyway I’ll see you around!”
My heart was beating at an unimaginable speed, the surrounding glared at me filled with a murderous intent. She just so casually destroyed 8 battleships and saved our lives like its nothing. To have that much power, I kind of admired her but her attitude was awful for someone with that many titles.
When Shiro became the Minister of defense, I was invited to become the Vice-minister of defense. I became an almost elder brother figure, she was way too lax despite her many titles. I often scolded Shiro for her rash behavior but she was still a kid…… that could destroy the capital within seconds. I loved Shiro’s carefreeness but at the same time hated it, she was like a troublesome younger sister. I was raised to become a political pawn and never saw love from my parents, I had no siblings so I was always lonely. Shiro…. A fun and cute little sister.
While thinking, I decided to ask Shiro a question that had always been on my mind.
“Hey, Shiro-sama. Why did you approach me back then?”
“Dunno, you were the odd one which made you look interesting. I regret approaching you, Mr. child abuse, lolicon-”
“Ah! I just remembered we still have several stacks of paperwork left, maybe you should return to finish them.”
Shiro began to pout, it was pretty cute. I just wanted to keep her out of danger, I wanted to protect that cute pouting Shiro. I will put my life forth for her, she guided me from my lonely life to one which I can have fun, she saved me and I will work hard to repay her even at the cost of my own life.

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
