Chapter 1 - The lazy minister

The capital city of the Raquam Empire is a very busy place, the streets are full of people rushing to work since it’s the rush hour right now. Cars honking, people talking, it’s was a very noisy morning.

The capital had a strategic headquarters which was responsible for taking care of many important affairs and stored many National secrets. The headquarters took up 20 hectares and it was built next to the Royal Palace. The building stands 3 stories tall and it's considered the second largest building in the city losing only to the Royal Palace.

The Ministers of the country are currently gathered at the capital headquarters to hand in a report on the status of the country which happens every 5 months. The report contains the financial situation, problems and many other things which required some changes.

Walking down one of the inner hallways, catching the eyes of many is a little girl, around 150cm tall wearing a red cape with many medals shining on her chest. The little girl stood out like a sore thumb, a little kid in the inner hallways of the headquarters was a bizarre scene because access to it was only given to high profile individuals who had many achievements over several years or even decades.

The little girl was strolling down the hallway like taking a quick walk in the park on a Sunday morning. Nobody stopped her to offer some candy since she is the current Minister of Defence, stopping her could get you fired or even imprisoned since they all knew where she was headed and interrupting her would cause many suspicions.

The little girl was stared at by everyone surrounding her warmly and yet with a hint of fear mixed in, officials who were discussing important matters stop to take a glance at her before continuing on. The little reminded most them of their kids or grandkids, they were busy stuck at work only meeting their families 3-4 times every few months, they couldn't help but look at her reminiscing about their families in melancholy.

The conspicuous girl is called Shiro, she also owns an infamous nickname; 'The Death Valkyrie.' The nickname was given after she burnt down thousands of soldiers during the war against the armed terrorist group SARS. The girl who looks like a child hides true terror underneath her cute appearance is the thought of many who have briefly encountered her on the battlefield. Most have only witnessed her destruction, but her true personality was more fitted for her age.

“Sigh, I wanted to go to the convention today but I had a report to give, it took 6 painful hours for it to finish.”

The girl sighed waving her arms around after returning from the report room. She's currently back at the defence ministry building in her main office, next to her is her second in command, Hacko Von Lostio. Hacko was a very intelligent and young boy who was exclusively selected to be the Vice-Minister of Defence by the King. Hacko was given the nickname Hacka by Shiro who misread his name when she received a letter from him, he complained about it many times but eventually gave up and adapted it.

“Minister Shiro, you should work on the financial report for the month instead of throwing a tantrum. We may be in a peaceful era but that’s no excuse to skip your work as a minister of defence.”

“It’s all because father pushed the role onto me, I just wanna go out and fire a fireball or two, maybe fire a few rounds on the Barrett .50 cal!”

“No, You still have 10 more reports to finish, the General of the AMAF is asking if we should order a few more anti-air vehicles since they lack in defence against air attacks.”

“Uuuuu, that old geezer wants some more? We just ordered 80 new types 10 tanks last week!”

Shiro Ra Von Lesse is the daughter of the current Prime minister Duke Laffenstein Ra Von Lesse and Vice-Prime minister, Duchess Kaoi Von Kilitre. She was appointed the role Minister of Defence because she of her ridiculous achievements such as single-handedly destroying multiple tanks. In battle, whilst her parents watch proudly from the side, she fired a 9-metre wide fireball at an F-11 fighter jet 5600m above, she earned the rank of Major at age 10 and became the minister of defence at age 12.

“Hacka, can you pleeeaaasseeee do it all for me? I need to catch up on some anime since I spent so much time on the report.”

But, Shiro did it all for fun and she regrets it now since there’s paperwork to do. Shiro, giving Hacka the puppy eyes, she looked up begging but instead of getting what she wanted, she got chopped.

“Teh! Hacka is a bully ~ Hic.”

(Your fake crying won’t work on me, sigh.)

“Now, Here, sign these.”

A tower of documents that piled up to the ceiling, a nightmare for Shiro.

“Uwah, that’s too much, Hacka you meanie, idiot, lolicon-”

“Oh, I have 3 more piles for you if you want, I don’t like looking

through 3 piles by myself, so do you want to join me?”

“N-no, no, no, no, no, I didn’t say anything, hahahahahaha….”

“If you finish that pile, there won’t be more work for tomorrow.”

“Uuuuu, there better not be.”

Shiro spent her evening finishing off some important documents until late night, it was an eternity in hell with Satan himself for Shiro.
