“Oi… No matter how you look at it, isn’t this too much?” Relictus, bewildered, asked M’arrzath.
“This is all I can give you. With this, you may grow, but as you stand, there is no way you can even come close to ruling this world. Think of it as a ‘jump start.’” M’arrzath, almost apologetic, explained to Relictus. “You may be able to defeat a human, but you don’t even come close to standing on the level of one of the Old Emperors.”
“But even then, aren’t my enemies humans?”
The moment he said that, M’arrzath put forth a rather harsh tone. “That is exactly the mindset I have shown you to avoid. Thinking humans to be enemies is exactly what caused the first War. Humans are your friends. Certain ones will be your enemies as evil people, those who follow chaos and wish to cause pain for the sake of causing pain. Others will form contracts with other, less powerful Old Emperors, and may be doing so right now. You need to grow stronger as fast as you can. I gave you almost all of my strength so that you can do so.”

Immediately, Relictus understood the implications of this. He knew that if he didn’t start early and dedicate himself to the game, he would never defeat anyone. After all, all he got was a way to grow quickly, as M’arrzath was too weak to give anything else. Even now, Relictus saw that he had gone down all the way to level 45 and was far shorter – only about three times Relictus’s own height.
He stood up from his spot in the corner of the room, rubbing the back of his head. He was quite sore from the experience of having his mind and body crushed and rebuilt, but he had no time to waste brooding over this. He ran through the rooms and corridors of the dungeon, and, after a few hours of running around without any knowledge of how the cavern worked, nor any torch or form of light, he saw light. He ran up the stairs, and finally had reached the outside world. He breathed deeply, grateful to be out of the dank dungeon and its cold, wet air and into the forest.
Leaves fell around him, gathering on the ground, colors from red to gold creating a breathtaking scene akin to a rain of leaves. Relictus walked slowly, leisurely, as he took in the tranquil, comforting atmosphere. All of these colors were there, for the first time in so long.
He then remembered his task. He needed to grow, for the sake of those around him, and his own freedom. PKing reaped few rewards, nothing that he could utilize. He rushed off at his top speed – with his new abilities, it was incredibly fast. He felt as if he was splitting the wind with his own body.
Relictus stumbled upon something. He was currently awkwardly staring at the… thing that stood in his path.
Silver SnakeLevel: 12
It was just that. It was a long, reptilian creature with no limbs – a snake. Furthermore, it was a snake with glowing red eyes and scales colored as pristine silver. They stared at each other for a minute. It was rather uncomfortable, staring at a snake awkwardly as it stared back, doing absolutely nothing.
The snake made the first move. It rushed forward at speeds no human could comprehend, its fangs glinting in the sunlight as it unhinged its jaw. As if on instinct, although mainly out of panic, Relictus unsheathed his basic sabre, bringing it forward in a stabbing motion and sending it straight into the snake’s open mouth. Its eyes widened as the sharp blade pierced its throat. The bright red eyes dimmed, becoming a deep, soulless black, and the snake exploded into dust.

As if on instinct, Relictus placed his Stat Points into ATK, DEX, and SPD evenly, at 20 points each. He forgot that he was level 1 due to his own power, and so quickly he gained 4 levels. He whipped his sword to remove the blood of the snake, and returned it to his sheath in a single motion.

The Immortals' Poison
Immortals, gods, devils. All of them have escaped the grasp of time and transcended the limits of mortality. Existences that can see a bug on a leaf thousands of miles away, beings who can create and destroy on a whim, entities of such awe-striking power that you can only tremble and await your demise. Reality is at their will. However, there is one thing that makes them cower in fear, a creation of utter darkness and endless malice: The Immortals' Poison. Said to be the soul of The First Dragon mixed with the remains of the dead Arch Pheonix, two items which shouldn't even be possible to gather. It is a sentient poison capable of killing anything it infects, giving the afflicted being, whether mortal or immortal, exactly 50 days to live. One day, the High God of Light, king of the gods, was afflicted with the poison. It caused the entire god realm to be panic-stricken. Searching for any cure to this legendary poison, they found one against all odds. For locked away deep in the forbidden archives, there was a sinister method of removing the infernal poison. The way they found was quite terrible. It was to find someone with a magnificent destiny and transplant the poison to this someone with a magnificent destiny, thereby going against fate, which is something the poison loves. However, he chose the wrong person to use, and now... The reckoning is coming. cover art isn't mine, all rights go to the artist etc.
8 124I am...*sigh* a speck of dust.
Hey, I'm...well, I'm not human anymore so I don't suppose that name matters. Anyway, just call me D. Why? Cause I'm dust. Not like, "Oh, no one notices me, it's like I'm dust in the air", but like..actually just a speck of dust. Nothing exciting going on, no action packed fights or cringey romances. Just...dust. I have a little system menu and everything, like all the 'OP' protagonists, but I mostly use it for the notes feature. Like right now. So, if anyone ever sees this, like, if the System stores it somewhere or whatever, just move along. Nothing special here.
8 167Solitary Will
“One leaf, one world… One grass, one heaven…” A woman with an incomplete soul. A borrowed life. A force to break. A deadly gamble. A strong will to defy fate and forge bravely towards immortality.
