《Legend Of Kaiser》Chapter 12: Leon Vs Romeo

Leon and Lumios barely arrived on time, compared to the first day the rest area was mostly empty with only the forty finalists including Leon and Lumios waiting. On a certain corner Kline and Ed were sitting on stone chairs nonchalantly like Leon and Lumios, on one corner Romeo was sitting down casually. Romeo suddenly turned and caught Leon’s eye, he stared hatefully at Leon and then moved his gaze.
The other finalists were unknown to Leon, but most of them were from the groups representing the Darcius Corp, Dual sword school and the Lucius group. The Scorching Fire Tribe had lost their main representative and the rest were not considered a threat to the other finalists.
A man walked in from the corridors: “Finalists, you will now need to head to the arena, to take ballot. Please follow me to the ring.”
Leon and Lumios stood up from the stone chairs and followed, so did the other participants. The corridor was dimly lit, no one bothered to make a sound, faint noises could be heard at the end of the tunnel. As they drew closer to the white light at the exit of the tunnel, the noise was growing louder. Leon and Lumios could hear the cheers as they exited the corridors first, they were both blinded by the bright light, as they’re eyes adjusted to the light they could see a huge sea of people cheering, roaring, shouting at the sight of the finalists.
The Coliseum was packed to the point where not a single step on the staircases had space for people to walk through, the finals were being broadcasted to every home in the city. The intensity of the crowd was many folds greater than the previous two days.
“Whoa,” Leon’s eyes were glittering with excitement and so were Lumios’s. They were standing in front of over a hundred thousand people and even more people at home who were watching it on the 3D holograms. This was probably the biggest event in the past few decades in Reon and Leon was on the stage preparing for the finals.
The main ring was much bigger than the small rings, it had a diameter of five-hundred metres. In the centre of the ring there was a table with a small wooden ballot on top and a man was standing next to it… “Finalists! You will now come here to pick a number from this ballot, the person who has the same number as you will be your opponent for the first fight. The number you choose will depend on you, I wish you all good luck.” Explained the referee through the voice amplification stone.
“First up, Leon Kaiser…” announced the referee.
Leon slowly, but steadily walked towards the ring and jumped onto the platform. In a few steps he reached the small wooden ballot and he put his hand in the hole , he chose a random sheet of paper in the ballot and pulled it out, Leon handed it to the referee.
The referee looked at it then announced “Leon Kaiser participant number one, he will fight in the first match with another participant who picks the same number as him.”
On a giant holographic screen it showed Leons name and there was an empty space in the place where his opponents name was meant to be, there were thirty-nine other spaces for the rest of the fighters.
Leon slowly walked off the ring and Lumios walked past him onto the stage and picked a number from the ballot.
“Lumios Rakel Participant number twenty…”

Lumios walked back and stood next to Leon: “This is such an unexpected coincidence, you’re in the first fight and I’m in the last… Argh It’s going to be so boring,” said Lumios with a bored expression.
Leon smiled at Lumios’s open honesty.
“Lumios, I hope you reach the finals so I can beat you,” said Leon with a mocking smile.
“Oh, so it’s like that, let’s see who wins; Me or you” remarked Lumios.
Leon nodded.
As time passed, slowly all forty fighters slowly picked a number…
“Romeo Dias participant number one, opponent Leon Kaiser in the first match.” announced the referee, as his name popped on the holographic screen next to Leon’s.
Leon turned to stare at Romeo who was unexpectedly staring at him, a devilish smile appeared on Romeo’s face, his intentions were very clear to Leon.
Hahaha… I can rip you to shreds on the arena without you or your family being able to rebuke me, I’ll get my revenge for such humiliation… hahaha, Romeo thought to himself.
Slowly the sequence of the fights had been decided on.
—————————
After about ten minutes the referee announced:
“First match of the finals: Leon Kaiser Vs Romeo Dias from the Dual Sword school.”
Both Leon and Romeo stood up at the same time and they walked across to the platform shoulder to shoulder. When they reached the ring they both moved a hundred metres apart.
“Hahahaha, I can beat the crap out of you here and you won’t be able to say a word in refute.” Mocked Romeo at the first chance he got.
Leon stared at the arrogant young man and said with a smirk: “So what? All I need is one punch to take care of you.” His spoke in a way that not only Lumios could hear it even the other participants, the referee and the powerhouses from the big organisations could hear.
“One punch… You actually think you can beat me with one punch, you bastard!” Rebuked Romeo, as his expression twisted and his complexion changed. “Okay, I’ll cripple you hear, right now. Let’s see if you’re able to back it up or chatting sh*t.”
The Prime ranked referee awkwardly stood between the two youths who hurled insults at each other, he was even impressed by Leon’s sharp words and his calm demeanour, which easily caused Romeo to be even more furious . “Enough you two… The fight will begin…. Now!” His voice echoed across the Coliseum.
“VISION MANIFESTATION: WIND CYCLONE GUNS” roared Romeo, as two guns materialised on each hand, both releasing a green aura.
What many people did not know about the Dual sword school was that not every student was a dual sword user, that was not important the ‘Dual Sword’ in the name was respect for the first Headmaster of the school, however what matters was ‘Dual’, every single student used two weapons, Dual Weapons.
He’s got a Wind Vision… And his choice of weapons is a gun? Thought Leon, In this day and age guns were unorthodox because they require ammo and were useless in close quarter combat, however guns made from Vision manifestations don’t have the downside of limited ammo but it uses the natural energy in the body.
“Get ready! Let’s see if you can beat me in one punch, you arrogant Bastard!” Voiced Romeo.
Leon gathered energy around his body to create an armour.
“Bang!” unexpectedly a gunshot was heard, hitting his shoulders. His external armour immediately shattered preventing him from forming an Energy armour. The wind bullet deeply engraved itself into his body, blood oozed out of the wound.

“Tut, Tut, Tut… I’m not letting you use your weird ability.” said Romeo as he mocked Leon.
“What the hell are you doing?” Roared Leon, he didn’t expect Romeo to be so shameless as to not let him prepare his external technique, but he couldn’t do anything as it did not go against the rules.
In the booth, Izak stared at Romeo, “What a despicable kid, does he not know the concept of honouring your opponent in battle.” he said with annoyance.
“That kid is indeed despicable, to think he would prevent Leon from using his External Techniques,” sighed Elder James. “I wonder how Leon will win against him? I heard that kid from the Dual Sword school is actually a 7th rank Awakened.”
“7th Ranked?!” said Izak with shock, Leons going to have a tough time… So unlucky.
Leon did his best to gather a small amount of energy to his feet, and he crouched down like a panther and then dashed towards Romeo closing down on him. Romeo smirked and moved away from Leon, pouncing backwards, keeping a constant distance away from Leon and started shooting at him.
Romeo was as hard to catch as a slippery snake, whenever Leon thought he caught him, he’d easily slip away, sending energy bullets at him. Romeo’s movements were really fast because his element was Wind which naturally increased his speed.
“BANG…BANG”
Two bullets flashed past Leon, Leon flinched as sweat trickled down his forehead, Romeo used this as a chance to shoot.
“Bang…” A bullet whizzed towards him, however he twisted his body slightly, just enough so it wouldn’t hit his chest and instead hit him on his left arm.
“Aaargh…” Roared Leon…He’s too quick, if this drags on, I’ll lose. I have to find a way to beat him fast. Leon thought as he dodged another set of bullets and then a thought hit him, for that to work I have to drag the fight on.
Romeo kept on appearing and disappearing moving extremely fast as constant rays of wind bullets whizzed past him, Romeo had an advantage when it came to speed because he was Wind Visionist.
“Haha, what’s wrong with you Leon? Why have you been dodging this whole time? I though one punch was all you needed.” Mocked Romeo.
“Yeah and I stand by it, I’ll beat you with one punch, because for trash like you one punch is all I need,” Rebuked Leon.
“You arrogant Bastard!” he didn’t expect Leon to still be this ignorant, this caused him to become furious at Leon.
The Coliseum was ecstatic, they were watching two geniuses from the same generation duke it out on the ring: The dark horse with no vision, Leon Kaiser Vs a 7th rank Awakened Romeo Dias.
“I’ve bet on Romeo, Leon is strong but he can’t beat a 7th rank Awakened even if he did beat a fifth rank awakened but this is two ranks higher,” said one man.
“Romeo will win, Leon has no chance,” said another man.
“All Leon is doing is dodging, this fight is getting boring.”
“I think Leon will win,” said a young girl.
Most of the spectators expected Romeo to win, very few were expecting Leon to win.
Leon was struggling to dodge and then Romeo’s voice echoed: “I’ll let you see my most powerful technique to respect your ancestor,” smiled Romeo coldly. ‘Wind Element: Bullet Barrage!” Suddenly a bright green light was emitted from the muzzle as Romeo dashed around the arena, the energy was extremely powerful, it wasn’t as powerful as Darius’s Scorching Style however it’s power was at the level of an 8th rank Visionist.
Izak seeing this could only clench his fists, in regret. If only Leon could activate his External technique, it would have been easier for him,
Leon had suddenly stopped and was standing in the middle staring calmly, this made him an easy target for Romeo. As Romeo dashed around the arena laughing hysterically. “This is the end!” Romeo roared.
Leon stood there as a large cluster of bullets shot out of the green light, each one releasing a breeze while rocketing through the air racing towards his calm figure, suddenly Leon’s eyes turned fierce. Its time…
Large amounts of energy appeared at Leon’s feet, a faint white light appeared gathering quickly, the bullets still racing towards him, suddenly he vanished from his position, leaving dust in that place. The bullets past straight through the dust left in the air.
Leon appeared a hundred metres away from his previous position, the bullets turned around and chased down Leon.
“Leon, even if you’ve got back a small amount of energy, you can’t escape me!” however his tone was different from what he was feeling. What the hell? how’d he activate his strange power? I have to finish this quickly.
Unexpectedly Leon laughed, “Haha, you think I’m going to lose against a worthless trash like you!” Leon said as Romeo’s expression darkened. “Let me show you my power,” suddenly a tremor ran through the air, causing the cluster of wind energy bullets to falter. On Leon’s right hand and arm appeared an intense bright light, he clenched his hand into a fist as faint ripples of energy was released. These faint ripples could only be felt by the experts that came from outside the city.
Romeo was close enough to notice the change in the atmosphere, he felt sweat trickle dow his forehead. He quickly moved the cluster of bullets in front of him and then the green light on the muzzle of his gun grew brighter releasing a huge bullet, that looked more like a small missile appeared flying towards Leons direction.
“Bullet Missile” he said gasping for breath.
A cold smile appeared on Romeo’s face, “It’s Over Leon, It’s Over. You’ve lost Leon, give up!” He said with certainty now as he frantically laughed. Romeo’s skin was now pale, devoid of blood, that attack drained all his remaining energy.
Leon raced towards Romeo, the resistant wind parted for him as he moved swiftly, small ripples were released from his fists. Romeo stared at him as the Bullet missile shot towards Leon at an extremely fast speed, the atmosphere was intense, both special techniques power was unquestionable, power was undulating from both techniques.
The gap between Leon and the Bullet Missile was now a 100 metre…75…40… As soon as it reached 20 metres Leon bent down and leaped 20 feet into the air as he pulled his fists back. The Bullet Missile slowly arced upwards towards Leon who was in the air.
“SELF MADE EXTERNAL TECHNIQUE: TREMOR IMPACT!” Roared Leon as the faint ripple grew in strength. Leon raised his fists towards the bullet missile which was surrounded by a cluster of wind bullets as he descended.
His fists struck the tip of the Bullet Missile, Romeo saw something horrifying when Leon struck the Bullet Missile, he saw Leon smile coldly in this dangerous situation as he mouthed:
“Tremor.”

Uru, a young boy with no talent for magic or fighting, sets out on a quest to become an avatar of order, the physical embodiment of righteousness, in a distant future, where control of origin energy allows people to defy physics and manipulate causality. Mocked by fate and broken by impossible dreams, all that's left is to stand in defiance to cruel existence. Because there is a Truth out there, somewhere. Singular, transcendent, eternal. What would you sacrifice for it? *** This is a fantastic sci-fi epic. It's going to blend both western and eastern traditional fantasy tropes – like might & magic and cultivation – with rational sci-fi grounded fully in reality, to produce a purely fictional fairy tale. I'd like to deliver something light-hearted and yet wholly serious. An uplifting adventure exploring the unfathomable reaches of humanity, free of indecency, with a healthy dose of humorous banter, legendary beings, and most importantly – lots of exciting, firework-filled mayhem! I've tried reading many web novels, but there's a fundamental problem with them – the eastern ones are annoyingly repetitive, superficial and morally destitute, while western ones are often dark, convoluted and profane. There's only so much one can do to filter out the bad and try to fill in the gaps with their own imagination. It's one thing to eat tasty fast food, but if it's moldy and filled with toxins, then it's not only poisonous, but also disgusting. The appreciation of beauty and higher values is disappearing at an alarming rate. Although there are throngs of talented people out there, none of them are creating what I want to witness – an inspiring battle against impossible odds, ending in absolute victory. A triumph of the spirit so overwhelming, it crushes the spectator into his seat and takes his breath away. I'm looking for a real paragon, so now I'd like to try conceiving one. *** The MC's name comes from Tolkien's Elven dictionary in Silmarillion, 'Uru' meaning 'Fire', and 'Dagnir an Uruloki' meaning 'Slayer of Dragons'. *** Note: I'm neither a native speaker, nor an aficionado of literature – I've never written anything before, and despite proficient English my literary prowess is abysmal. It therefore takes me a painful amount of effort to polish the chapters and bring them up to par. Last year I wrote and posted some on FictionPress, but I stopped since it wasn't going anywhere. The appalling amount of filth and mediocrity being peddled in all the media nowadays – a result of no conspiracy to manipulate the masses, but plain supply and demand – is no longer just the triumph of form over substance, but most worryingly corruption of the latter. Who wants to read about ideals anymore? And yet, masses flock together to gobble up perversion and depravity. That being said, I can't rule out pitiful exposure as the culprit to my failure, so I am now once again trying to increase it here, possibly for the last time. If there are still human beings present, hungry or in need of a detox after eating too much garbage, make yourselves heard, so I can see a reason to continue the story. Otherwise it's pointless – I'm not going to make fodder for the masses, and I'm most certainly not going to throw pearls before swine. I'll simply stop writing altogether.
