《System 1: LOL System》Week 1
Advertisement
Day 1:
I felt wet as I woke up, my face and and the front side of my body was completely wet. I sat up and looked around finding myself in a forest of sort. The only difference between a normal forest and this forest was how huge the trees were and the myriad number of colours on their bark.
They looked like they were holding up the sky and been here since time immemorial. I can't be sure but I felt as if I could see further, and the colours were more vivid. The sounds were clearer and smells acute.
I looked at my hands and body only to realise that I wasn't wearing my original shirt and pant but an entirely different set of clothing. It was a full body armor, fully black in colour and after a couple of experiments, without any way to remove. (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/vRe5x the third image but full black and with out any padding)
"System" I called out, having a bajillion questions in my head.
" yes host?" the system replied
"what my i wearing?"
" that is a gift from the system to help you survive"
" I thought I would get no such thing"
" and so did the people of czechoslovakia believe Hitler won't attack them but it happened, that's life"
Though I was speechless at that reply I knew it would be good thing to have it.
" What does this thing do?" I ask while looking at my body "and can I take it off?"
"no you can't, it is a extention of your body. Sort of like an exoskeleton armor but it will help you keeping your body in check and provide support"
"ummm, care to give an example?"
" okay, so if your hands get cut off and you lose HP, when you are healing (via life steal) and regenerating, the armor will help you."

"and how do I excrete?"
" you can open certain region in your armor"
"that works too" I replied while standing up and habitually pat my butt to clean it. I look around to admiring the trees around me, 'I don't think I would ever be not in awe of them' I think to myself.
"system open menu" I call out while checking every inch of the suit,
Status
Shop
Inventory
I think of opening my status and feel like dying. Again.
Name: Mr. Traveller
Level 1
Progress till next level: 0%
HP: 1000 HP regen: 1% per min
Physical Damage (PD) : 100
Magic Damage (MD) : 100
Armor : 50
Magic Resist (MR) : 50
Attack Speed (AS) : 1 hit per second
Movement speed (MS): 400 steps per min
Gold (Gd) : 1000
"system, why is my attack speed so slow? I can hit faster you know" I ask the system with total confusion on my face
"You are bound to the system as the system is bound to you. You can only move and attack in accordance to your stats"
I felt the urge to shoving one of those huge trees up the systems' ass but had a gut feeling I couldn't change it anyway. Trying to push this issue and my anger to the back of my mind I think of opening the shop,
In game shop
World shop
I open the in game shop, and find all sorts of items the same they were in League of Legends.
There were 5 sub categories in there with my current gold being displayed on the the bottom right corner.
Tools - Includes consumables and trinkets
Defense - includes items that grant statistics such as health, armor or magic resistance.
Attack - includes items that grant statistics such as attack damage (physical damage) , attack speed or critical strike chance.
Magic - includes items that grant statistics such as ability power (magic damage).
Movement - includes items that grant enhanced movement speed.
Gold(Gd): 1000
I realised something was off as I remember there being more items in the actual shop, and they had different prices.
"System why are there only finished items and not their components"I ask knowing this wasn't good for me.
" Host in the game where you can buy smaller components to make something better, in here you can't do that and all the items will be worth 5000 gold for finished items that boost you stats, 500 for all shoes and 50 for all consumables and trinkets."
I felt a vein popping on my forehead, and after calming my self a bit. I decide to skip the world shop fearing a total mental collapse and move to the inventory.
I see 6 boxes. ONLY six boxes.
" hey system, why are there only six boxes? Didn't I ask for an inventory with infinite space?" I ask with my voice trembling in rage while I clench my teeth.
"this is the inventory for the purchases you make in the in game shop."
"and what about a normal storage space? And why only six, will it always remain 6" I ask almost at the verge of cursing at the God and this system.
"host that is in your item and no it will increase as you level up."
That's when it clicked me I asked for a building that has everything form a alchemy space to a monster breeding space but have overlooked it cause I was too engrossed with the system.
"where is the item system? " I ask half in anticipation and half in nervousness due to obvious history of system letting me down.
"in your armor"
"nani?"
"host the building is in your armor, you Still can't fully understand what this armor can do but for now focus right shoulder"
I do as asked and feel something in shape of a cube in my shoulder. I instinctively touch my right shoulder but find out there is no such shape on there.
"Now try to think of pulling it out of the shoulder"the system asks me in a flat voice.
I think of pulling the cube out of my shoulder and all of a sudden a simple 2 story build pops up in front of me. It was divided into 2 exact and vertical halves. Both side had a door, one on the extreme left side and another on the extreme right side there were no windows. And after going around the building twice I figure out there were no openings at all.
Before I could ask or say anything the system said in its usual flat tone " host enter the building"
I knew for a fact that it couldn't get worse than this, so I took a deep breath and stepped inside the right door.
I looked at the building and left that the all black colour was not the worst choice and oddly never asked why the edges of the cube like building where so sharp.
I open the wood/metal door and hear a cheerful and coordinated shout.
"welcome master"

Candor: The Forgotten House
*** Please read note below *** As a 16-year-old mage from a powerful family, Jayce Candor had known from a young age what his future would hold. As the fourth son in his family the possibility of him becoming the heir to the household was very small. But, with his talent as a mage, his potential accomplishments in the military could lead to titles of nobility and political power. However, on what would otherwise be an unremarkable night, everything he had ever known, the only people he ever cared for, and all of the plans for his future were destroyed. House Candor, one of the six great houses that helped build the Eldoran Empire had been erased from history. By imperial decree, all those bearing the name Candor were hunted down and executed as traitors of the Empire. With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.

Kichiro's Rampage
Meet Kichiro, the son of a samurai. A social outcast, he leaves his home with nothing but a musket and a sword, determined to carve himself a niche in a chaotic world of dragons and leviathans. This fiction incorporates LitRPG elements, but it's not set in a VR. It's set in a fantastical world based loosely on East Asia in the 16th and 17th Century, when the Ming Dynasty was on its last legs, with the addition of magic and monsters. I totally stole the stat tables from Exterminatus, the author of Everybody Loves Large Chests, so let me credit him for that. I'm new to writing so please don't hesitate to criticise, and reviews would be greatly appreciated.
