《Let's Form a Party to Kill God》Cake

Unlike the non-magic classes which were attended mostly by nobles, the magic division was selected purely based off of talent, and had children from all walks of life. Kynos was introduced to his class without much trouble. He gave off the impression of a shy boy that didn't talk much to his classmates.
Class, especially history, was difficult for Kynos. The high-speed lecture was unforgiving, unlike the gentle, adaptable, but persistent way he was taught by his late mother.
Still, it was classes designed for seven-year-olds, and Kynos was barely able to scrawl his notes onto the paper notebook her had been given. How luxurious, that he could keep his writing instead of having to erase the sand, but his handwriting was still small from force of habit.
It was time for language class, which he was on behind his year for.
"Hi Mithan...Mith." "Ky, stop standing there and sit down." Mith patted the seat right next to hers.
Mithandra's classes were terrifying. Instead of just teaching him vocabulary at an accelerated pace, she crammed math, etiquette, logic, and several other subjects down his throat. When his hand stopped or the light of comprehension left his eyes, she whispered to him threats which would make grown men tremble.
Kynos let the room with Mithandra and a dizzying headache. It was going to be a long year for him, but at least he could look forward to the magic classes after lunch.
The lunch was served in a cafeteria, where he could order as many things as his plate could fit, provided he had the ID. He loaded up on a meat and vegetable stew, a soup that looked red and had some noodles floating in it, several slices of what looked like the softest bread, and left the last fourth of his tray to a slice of what Mithandra was calling 'cake' with approval.

Everything was delicious. The stew was meaty and thick, without being salty, and the vegetables had absorbed the meat's flavor fully. The red soup looked thick but was surprisingly refreshing, and the noodles were chewy and gave off a slightly sweet flavor. The bread was white bread, and while Mithandra kept harping about the lack of nutrition, it was soft and delicious, and became almost heavenly when soaked into the juices of the stew.
All of that was before the cake.
Kynos had one bite, and immediately knew the existence that was greater than god. Cake is the strongest, he thought to himself, slowly savoring each bite. Food was good, candy was better, but cake was the only thing close to joy in this world, Kynos thought.
Cake and revenge, but mostly, sweet, moist, soft, delicious cake.
A few students stopped to watch the boy who ate cake slowly while leaking tears down his face, before being shooed away by the sharp glare of the embarrassed girl beside him.
