《Let's Form a Party to Kill God》Friend

Kynos returned with Mithandra later that day to receive his own identity card. He heard that it could be use in any country on the east side of Alva, as well as most places in Ladria and the Imperium as well. He was amazed that his came with the ability to eat for free.

According to Mithandra, the card stored magic identifying himself as a scholarship student in the primary school system of Incanta, and could also store guild information, titles, and if he used a bank, his entire fortune as well.

Kynos was also assigned shoes, underwear, a uniform, paper, and writing utensils. The identity card, which Mithandra always called ID, was truly a wonderful thing, especially since Kynos could opt for baked sweets as one of his three daily meals.

He would've done it for all three meals if Mithandra hadn't forced him to do otherwise. She was still scary.

Kynos split from Mith when it was time to sleep, and he was introduced to his roommate, a boy one year older hailing from the plains country of Ertalia on the Ladria-Alva land bridge, named Axal. Unlike the pale Kynos and the equally pale Mithandra, he was bronze-skinned and muscular, a user of water magic and a possessor of the unique skill, honest, straightforward friendliness.

"Shadow magic? Rare! Nice! Let's have a good year as roommates buddy!"

Kynos stared at him, and slowly nodded. He hoped he could last the year without going insane. He had met and spoken with more people in the last few weeks than the previous handful of years. If Mithandra actually had friends to introduce him to, he might have collapsed from exhaustion before he made it to the dorm.

Despite sleeping for nine hours, Kynos was still barely able to drag himself out of bed at the insistent urging of Axal, early in the morning. He had been sleeping till late afternoon, eating at past midnight, and studying until morning before this, so his owl-like habits were particularly ingrained.

Cursing at the rising sun, he began putting on his uniform, only to be stopped by ever-trusty Axal and dragged off to the bath. Axal made clear that he had to clean himself at least once a day, and that he had only let him off since he almost collapsed of exhaustion the previous day.

"It'll also help you wake up," Kynos was told.

After cleaning the body was cleaning the mouth, which was particularly new for Kynos. He had lucked out though, a diet of practically nothing accompanied by the loss of baby teeth had kept his mouth in fairly good condition. Technology was still per-industrial in most sectors, so microscopes of course did not exist. There was healing magic that could mend teeth however, so it wasn't a huge problem.

Axal then forced Kynos to skip breakfast to get to class on time, also skipping his own. He was silently cursed at by teary eyes, but doggedly continued on the road of becoming the most reliable friend.
