“Why do you assume that it was written for you.”
“I seriously am not in the mood for Hamilton right now.”
“GASP, He knows.”
“Just give me the paper, you probably can’t even read binary.”
“So, I’m assuming that you are Joseph Lock?”
“The very person, though I understand that I currently don’t look like the part”
Joseph Lock, a renowned businessman, currently looked like he just survived the worst hurricane of all time. His hair was a sloppy mess, his suit looked like it went through a dust storm, a fresh scar ran above his right eye to the side of his right eye, and his shoes were a light grey which could have been black at one point.
“Rough trip over?”
Lock did a small pity laugh at himself
“Rough doesn't even scratch the surface of the expiriance.”
“I told you Joseph, you should’ve cleaned up before. But no, you're the one who insisted on this trip.”
An extremely annoyed secretary walked into the room. The first thing I noticed was her furious
heterochromatic eyes.
“Barbara, I told you. If they know that he hid the message in his wallet, they would miss it. but you can be sure that they will come again.”
“Come again?”
Joseph looked at me, Thought for awhile, then sighed.
“You know your father loved you, right?”
“I always knew.”
“You don’t realise how much though.”
Barbara chipped in. Her attire was a little better off, though her hair was down past her shoulders; it was kept out of her face by a cute silver hair pin.
“And you people do? I haven’t met my father in years. The first time I saw him was three days ago at the Memorial; and that was on TV!”

“Wait, what date is it?”
“Sir, if you actually listened, they explained it quite clearly.”
"But they kept droning on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on, and then they asked our names. AND THEN THEY STARTED DRONING ON AGAIN!"

“OK, thank you for stoping by, but it's best if you come back later, when you are cleaned up. So take your stupid paper, go F your self, and get out.”
Both of them looked over at me. Lock gestured with his head to Barbara.
“I’ll take it.”
“Good. I never wanted it anyways.”
“Barbara, we’re leaving. Ms. Willus.” Lock nodded at me.
“Goodbye Ms. Willus, I hope you excuse us for our current apperance.”
“Just leave.”
Barbara hesitated, as if wanting to say something.
“Let’s go.”
Lock said again, standing in the doorway.
Barbara turned and walked out the door.
“I do hope your father wakes up soon.”
And Lock closed the door, bringing the room back to silence.
“Dad, what did you do to end up like this?”
I pick up the package that my father had sent. It’s weight was slightly less than I expected, just barely over 5 kg. It was wrapped with brown cardboard, with over 108 postage stamps, the oldest being in Chile.
“Well time to see what’s inside this thing.”
I take the hidden blade out of the sole in my shoe and cut the package open. I put the blade back before I open the package.
The package held a Black Box with a old note on top of it. My father’s handwriting was on the note
For Sally, Beloved Daughter and Hope
Tears started falling on the letter as I hold it with trembling hands.
I open it, seeing his rugged handwriting
Sally, I know that by the time you get this, I will be Asleep. Please take care of the Box, It holds the answers to what you seek. I miss you so much honey, I really do. If I had the choice, I would have never divorced your mother. Sadly, it was not to be. If I did my calculations right, I have missed 12 years or more of your life. I regret leaving for those twelve years, never answering. But it was all for a reason and I know that you want answers. Ask Hannah about her home town, She’ll explain the rest to you. I have to go soon, and even if you succeed I might not wake up. Honey, just remember I am always with you.
Your loving father,
Staff Sergeant Samuel Morrison Willus

But is this world really where the journey begins? --------------------------- I just wanted to mention that this is the first light novel that I’ve ever worked on and I’m also just doing this for fun, so I apologize in advance if it isn’t up to par. I also drew the cover myself because I wasn’t sure which pictures were okay to use and I didn’t want to bother with it. So yea, sorry about the amateur drawing (・.・;) In any case, feel free to give feedback and thank you for reading.
