I follow the old man up the hill i just came down, i was seething; curious though as to what he wanted to say to me that was so important he had to say it in private, i narrow my eyes at the small of his back, impossible; there were still some people who weren't that shallow, or at least i hoped.. The old man came to stop in a huge meadow then he turned to me and smiled
"I want to thank you again, it must have been hard sacrifising your own for us"
'You think'
"No hard feelings, but you coulndn't have led me out here just to say that"
"No... by now you must have heard of the prophecy"
"Well it seems like a touchy issue, no one has told me anything"
"A few centuries back a tome was found, it talked about a hellspawn"
"A what?"
"Part demon...part god"
"You're kidding..."
"The creature was supposed to crash into lesk... a few years back a crater was discovered, it had already hit lesk, the impact was so great it destroyed everything around it for miles and miles"
"wait wait wait, holdup... you think i'm this - hellspawn or whatever"
the old man looks at me tiredly "Twenty three years ago i was out raiding with my team when we saw what looked to be a shooting star..."
"What are you..."
"We felt the impact and decided to check it out"
"What are you saying?!!"
"You've been asleep for more than twenty three years"
"B-but y-you said i was out for just..."
"I lied" the old man interrupts, he settles down in the grass and drops his walking stick
"That doesn't make sense"
"Eskion... its a name i'll remember"
'what he is saying can't be true right? leila would have...there is just no way, and whats this nonsense about being part demon, i'm a god...'

"You are the destruction of lesk, you are armaggedon..."
"Stop spouting rubbish!!, i'm not a demon, i can't be a..."
'was that why they were so afraid?'
"i'm..."
The cheif turns to me looking years older
"You must understand why i'm doing this then"
"doing what... what did you do?"
"i must ensure the survival of this world" he jumps to his feet with surprising agility for an old man and dives out of the way, i feel something hit me, i'm snt a few feet backwards
i grit my teeth and struggle to my feet when i hear the old man
"you must be wondering, whats wrong with me.. your eyes must be very heavy, do you really think i'd feed you out of the goodness of my heart
"You poisoned me..." i stumble and drop to one knee
"ah i see you've realized it"
"i... i helped you, i helped you so why?!"
"so what you helped me, it would only be a matter of time till we became expendable, it was hard to bring you to your knees considering your god factor but once i found the ash scales of the verconiod dragon, it was simply easy"
i feel myself loosing concious
"dragon ash..." at this point i'm doing my best not to bite my tongue
"The ash scales of a verconoid dragon, it doesn't sit well wit demons, hellspawns to be precise"
"h-how did y-you.."
"how did i know? hahahaha, i got help ofcourse"
"y-you..."
"shhhh, don't try to talk, it'll hurt too much"
i fall on my side, my vision was waning, the last thing i saw was heavy metal boots marching to where i was

Luster
Growing up with her recently deceased mother’s addiction and her own struggles with gender identity, June Fujiwara was not a nice person. Gaining powers from nearly being murdered didn’t change that, and neither did becoming a mercenary to fund her transition. It took horrific manipulation, the resulting trauma, and the family that helped her through it all. Luster is a derivative work based on Worm by Wildbow (John C. McCrae) that begins prior to Worm and although it doesn't show straight away, the story is very AU.
