Greeting the guest then gives them a smiling face, and Vaan finds it is hard to maintain that kind of face but seeing his parents able to do it Vaan cannot give up in the middle of the party. Vaan can see that many of the guests are not what he thinks he will see, based on Vaan’s father the guest is a noble from various countries and kingdom but what he can see is a face that looks like not a noble type of person.

This because some of them have scar on their face and many of the guests are not wearing a fancy type of cloths, Vaan looks confused because it not what his father mention before when he said noble and important people from many countries but now if Vaan keep he eyes wide open he can see that most of the people are an adventurer and scholar people, only a few of them is noble.

“Are you surprise my son?” ask Gaia.

“Umm, you said many important people would come, but I can see only common people here and few noble families.”

“Well, all of them is a friend of mine and your mother Vaan, and they have helped us in any way from past so they are the important people and noble for us.”

“Hello Gaia, it good to see you again” a man with red hair greet Vaan’s father.

Seeing that man is his father friend, Vaan try to sneak and find something that he can do during the party but he can’t escape because his father keeps him close to his side and introduces too many people who are Vaan’s father friend. Done with his father adventurer friends, Vaan being drag out by his mother next, as for his mother friend most of them look like a great in magic and knowledge and few of them also an adventurer.

Vaan keeps his face and shows respect for all of them, most of them see impressive with Vaan attitude because even he is noble but Vaan does not show any sign of arrogant which typical noble child show in front of the commoner.

After thinking all of that is done, Vaan catches a glimpse of shape that he recognizes behind the curtain. Quickly walk to that place, Vaan’s eye can’t believe in what he sees it was Media inset of cloth that can boost her charm and smell of perfume is sweet and catch Vaan attention. Realize Vaan has lost in his mind, Media become shy and cover her face with her hand but then Vaan quickly apologies for his attitude and explain why he acts like that.

Media accept Vaan forgiveness and think that Vaan attitude as praise for her looking tonight. During his conversation with Media, Vaan can feel few eye look at them and after few minute he knows that all of that eye is looking at Media side and that make Vaan feel sad because Media has been a center of attrition for the man in that party. But he knows that Media charm is not an easy thing to be miss look at that party.

“Let’s go and grab some food shall we?” ask Vaan.

“Okay, let eat Vaan, and I can’t wait to taste that food tonight.”

“All of these foods are being prepared by the head chef, but I still can guarantee you that I taste as good as my mother food.”

“Really, that is nice than.”

“I don’t know that you are a heavy eater Media, and you need to be careful with food or you will be fat.”

“Vaan, you really need to learn the proper way to talk to a lady right.”

“What you mean by that Media?”

“It is nothing” answer Media with a smile.

Vaan really doesn’t know what Media try to tell him so he just takes it as a note and will ask someone again later on, but now he realizes that the king and princess are nowhere to be found. If he not wrong, his father also invites the king family but it seems that they cannot come tonight and it a little bit sad for Vaan because he is hoping to meet up with Virtie in the party.

Now is the time for Vaan’s father gives his speech to the guest tonight and follow up with his mother than last but not least is Vaan turn for the end of the party. During Vaan’s father speech several of noble come close to Vaan and whisper something, but Vaan just ignores them and head to where Media still eating her food.

Media how to look at the incident ask Vaan what has happened, Vaan explain that those noble suggest to Vaan that they will give slave as the present for his birthday party but Vaan just walk away from that conversation because, in his previous life, the slave is not something that can be accepted in this world. Media then clap her hand because Vaan's decision and she pat Vaan head as praise for what happens, Media seem happy because Vaan refuse to accept such gifts and she said that Vaan doesn’t change even in the future and stay like that.

After Vaan’s father speech is done, next his mother goes about giving her speech to the audience in the party. Vaan suddenly feels nervous, but Media is helping him out from that situation. Media keep Vaan nervous away by talking about different thing and topic with Vaan. Finally, the time has arrived for Vaan turn give his speech. Few minutes after giving his speech, finally Vaan successful too finish his speech without having a problem and the audience seems to be like and satisfied with Vaan original speech.

The end of Vaan speech also means the end of the party, after sending few butlers to accompany Media to her home, Vaan head to where his parents at. Look at the reading room, where he can find his mother and his father together.

“Come here sons, let’s have a small talk,” says his father.

“It now times for our turn giving you a gift right,” says his mother.

“First, here is the gift from your mom, please take care of it.”

Open the cover, Vaan find out that he got a ring from his mother. Think it as a normal ring until he realizes that ring has something craft on it but he can’t seem to understand that kind of language and symbols. According to his mother, Vaan needs to wear that ring as proof of protection from dangerous things and only remove it when he is in great danger only. Listen and noted as his mother word Vaan give his promise after that.

“Then now is father turn right,” says Vaan’s father.

“Here is your gift Vaan,” say Gaia and pass a piece of a letter to Vaan.

Vaan quickly read the content of the letter which his father just gives to him, on the paper wrote the sentence of “Road Academia” which is one of the most famous magic knight schools in the kingdom. Keep reading the letter Vaan finally found out that his father has set him to go studies in the different town that known as Vismuld, thinking like he has heard that town name before but because of the now tired his brain can find the answer.

“You will be leaving after 4 days from tomorrow my son.”

“That so early dad, I still not done prepare my stuff yet.”

“Then, you better start tomorrow son, hahaha.”

*Next morning

Vaan shouts early in the morning in front of Media house, Media came out with rush because she hears Vaan scream for her downstairs. Media find she is in a clueless situation about what happens because Vaan wasn't acting like he always does.

“Sorry for disturbing your sleep Media, but I want to ask you something.”

“Go on Vaan, what is your question.”

“Did you say that you were studying at the town of Vismuld?”

“Yes, and the school are teaching magic and knighthood.”

“What is the name of that school?”

“If I do not mistake, the name is Road Academia but why are you asking me that Vaan?”

“Really? That is great then because I also will attend that school 3 days from now Media.”

“Wow, then we can be together again even in different town.”

Both of them seem happy with that news, Vaan returns to his home and start to pack his stuff. Then, his mother comes in and shows him another piece of letter. Vaan takes and read but this time it has a royal symbol on it, from that letter he knows that he has been summoned by the king and need to meet him at the castle as soon as he can.

“Well, I will invite Media to come with me and maybe Virtie and Media can be a friend.”
