《WTF [Dropped version]》7 - War's twisted finale
Advertisement
The universe was hard at work trying to reunite Destiny and Wally. There were currently two large battles happening simultaneously within it. One was in the small township of Chook's Creek, Earth, the other spanned over the entire surface and out into space surrounding the magical fish's home world 'Siren'.
The Magical fish were in trouble. The Scientists had discovered Siren's location and brought their full military might down upon it.
In space, lasers lit up the darkness. World Fish had been steadily growing all war and was now the size of a moon. He smashed through hundreds of Scientist vessels, leaving nothing but debris in his wake.Kinetic fish and Metal fish followed behind.
Kinetic fish zipped between laser blasts and would gently touch debris launching it at extreme speeds and blasting holes through Spaceships like an enormous shotgun blast.
Metal fish was absorbing tons and tons of metal debris and growing larger with each moment. She would soon be as large as World fish. A second moon sized titan to rampage through the Scientist's ranks. Hundreds of lasers were aimed at them but their sheer size meant that they only suffered minor wounds.
On planet armies of mutated monstrosities, swam, marched or slithered towards Scientist troops en masse only to get torn down by ceaseless laser fire. Those that did reach the enemy however tore through metal and flesh with enhanced teeth and claws. This was DNA Jellyfish's handiwork. He had spent months spawning and modifying the genetics of an army of fearsome monsters.
Now he hid deep within the ocean and worked together with Teleport Fish to portal his soldiers right into the enemy ranks causing chaos and destruction.
Elsewhere, Divination Fish was looking deeply into her own luminescent esca (the glowy thing on an angler fish's head, I looked it up). She said, "8.375° degrees starboard, 12.994° up."
Laser Fish made the micro adjustment to her aim as instructed.
"3, 2, 1, fire!"
Laser Fish lit up and fired her beams into the sky. They reached their target in space several seconds later and tore an important Scientist command ship in half.
This magical fish team up was ideal at picking off high priority targets and weakened the enemy command structure and communicative capabilities.
Any return fire found their laser fire bend around the two leaving them unharmed. Laser Fish's powers worked as a hard counter to Scientist weapons.
Not all magical fish were doing as well. Several had fallen in battle already. The magical backlash reverberated throughout the universe.
Gravity Fish fell and for several minutes gravity grew heavier or lighter by a percent or two at random everywhere.
Radioactive Fish's demise caused an increase in the occurrence of cancer for a few weeks after.
When Yeti Fish died, all yetis and the fond memories associated with them disappeared, leaving only myths and legends.
Destiny Fish and Time Fish had miraculously survived so far despite their almost complete lack of offensive capabilities. Sure, Time Fish had a spell that could cause a target to age rapidly and die of old age. But it was a single target spell and required physical contact. He was having much more success with his less harmful area of effect abilities.

Destiny was even more useless, he could curse enemies to be destined for regret but there was no time limit so it was unreliable. Their regret might occur immediately or in 100 years. He could also shoot harmless red strings of destiny out like confetti streamers which made for a good distraction. The two of them mostly just fled and hid, desperately trying to survive.
Destiny was feeling anxious. His power's 6th sense let him know when something destined was gonna happen. The sense tingled all over now.
Time and him were sneaking about following Destiny's instincts when they came across something unusual. A group of Scientists were avoiding battle and setting up a large cone shaped machine. They'd never seen a machine like that before, but it set Destiny's 6th sense off something terrible.
"Dude that thing is freaking me out dude. It's destined to be big trouble." Whispered Destiny Fish.
Time Fish could tell how serious a threat it was by the way Destiny used 'dude' twice in one sentence. "Should we attack? There aren't many of them, we can probably take them." He asked.
"Yes we should freaking attack dude! Like, right now!"
Wow, damn, Time started to freak out. for Destiny to urge for violence meant that this was worse than he thought. "Ok we'll use the banana skin birthday beat down tactic. Let's move."
Time swum in directly towards the Scientists making his presence known to the group. The group saw that they were under attack and rushed to defend themselves. Time had already cast his spell and the scientist all mistimed their steps tripping over themselves. From above, hundreds of red strings rained down upon them. They raised their arms to defend themselves and found nothing happening when the strings hit. However, Loud slaps and screams could be heard around the clearing. When the red strings cleared, Destiny and Time had tail slapped almost all of the Scientists into unconsciousness. The remainder were made short work of. A perfectly executed banana peel birthday beat down.
They approached the machine which hummed with power. Destiny's scenes were going nuts. "Dude you gotta get rid of this thing right now, make it a million years old, go go!"
Time Fish had a sense of timing that let him know he couldn't make it. He rushed to cast his spell anyway. The machine thumped, launching something deep into the ground. Ultimately, it wouldn't have mattered if Time had stopped the machine or not. Siren's fate was destined once the Scientists learned its location. Across the globe hundreds of the same machines activated and launched their payload into the ground. A signal was sent out to every Scientist and immediately all soldiers and machines launched upwards fleeing the planet.
These machines were based on World Fish's most powerful spell, 'Shattered Egg'. The spell was named after how a planet looks after the spell runs its course. Even the merciless World Fish had only used it once in his entire life. Hundreds of years ago. A Scientist spy satellite had witnessed the horror and that was enough for the Scientists to be inspired. Each machine would launch a seismic device deep into a planet that would agitate the molten core. A single device would be enough to cause earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Hundreds would literally tear the world apart.

Destiny had been there when 'shattered egg' was cast. He was able to figure out what the machine had done based on the memory of the awful way his 6th sense felt that day. It felt worse now than it did that day. This was going to suck.
"It's like Word's shattered egg spell but worse! Nothing will survive. We gotta bounce. Up, Into space, let's go!" Shouted Destiny over the rumbling of the planet.
Time Fish stayed still. Now that he knew what was happening, he could figure out the timing of it. "It's happening too fast, we won't make it. You should go. I can buy you enough time. Please run Destiny!"
"Time, dude, c'mon" Destiny pleaded.
"GO NOW DESTINY!!!" Roared Time.
Destiny obeyed, swimming up as Time swam down. Upon making contact with the ground he cast 'Frozen Moment' on the entire planet. 'Frozen Moment' captured its target in a bubble of time. Time would proceed normally outside the bubble. On the inside however, it would remain still. On a small object, like a Scientist Battle drone, he could freeze it for weeks. On an entire planet, his magic would be drained in one minutes, thirteen seconds. Time smiled happily. His power let him know that this would be enough time for Destiny to escape.
All over Siren magical fish were surprised by the sudden retreat of their enemies, followed by the sudden earthquakes and finally by the sudden global activation of Time Fish's spell. They could tell something bad was happening and all began to flee as well. DNA Jellyfish and Teleport Fish had it easy, simply portaling away. Laser fish could turn herself into a Laser temporarily. She shot straight up, poor divination fish swimming after her.
One minute, thirteen seconds later Time Fish's spell broke. He didn't even try to run. He relaxed and looked up, "Live well, bro." he said. The world cracked and split all around him magma shot up with the full force of a volcano everywhere, all at once.
Siren shattered and Time Fish died. Magic rippled out through the universe and a lot of things happened. Time froze, time reversed a second, time resumed again, time travel became possible, a single soul travelled back from the past, reality nearly shattered from the paradox, time froze again, the universe intervened directly and disconnected Time magic from reality, and finally time resumed normally.
With Siren destroyed the Scientist pushed to finish the magical fish off. Thousands of lasers pierced the giant targets that were World Fish and Metal Fish. They were slowly but surely wearing them down. World fish bled from thousands of small wounds all over his body. Metal Fish was doing even worse, thousands of tons of superheated molten metal drifted from her body like golden red tentacles. The laser's heat, heating her to dangerous levels.
World looked upon the remains of Siren, his home for millennia. He was surprised by how little emotion he felt, it was just another world. Its destruction was more useful to him than its continued existence.
Telepathy Fish had been hiding within World fish this whole time. His power was the method of communication for the fish in space as sound didn't travel out there. World contacted Metal via Telepathy. "Now is the time to perform the combination we discussed." He sent.
"I agree," She replied.
With Kinetic Fish's help the two giants moved towards each other. Colliding at their size would have been catastrophic, but Kinetic Fish was there to arrest all motion. They still crushed together but the damage was minimal. They began casting their spells.
There was a certain spell combination that World fish had thought of. His ideas were always big and bad, this one particularly so. It was a dangerous spell that required certain conditions to be met. There were two reasons that they had never attempted it before now. The first was that World Fish hadn't been this big in a long time. His powers were relative to his size and his size was now perfect for what they hoped to accomplish. The next reason was that he had been defending Siren for the duration of the war and using this combination near a planet would most certainly destroy it. Since Siren was already destroyed that was no longer a problem.
He cast 'global scale' onto Metal. Global scale was a support spell that used his magic to increase the size and scale of another fish's next spell. He rapidly shrank from Moon size to peanut size as the absurd amount of magic he had gathered during the war all charged into Metal. She then cast her spell 'liquid metal'. This was an area of effect spell that turned all metal in a small area into liquid. With the boost from 'global scale' its range now covered a good portion of the solar system. Magic herself was the first thing to turn to liquid as her body was made entirely of Metal. The magic silently spread out into space. This was the largest scale invasion to have ever occurred in Scientist history. They had brought almost everything they had to eliminate the fish threat once and for all, billions of spaceships, soldier's, machines, and weapons.
In the silence of space, they all fell apart.
