《Prevented My Empire From Falling》011

I decided I will do a quick background check about their business and of his second son. I should personally check him out.
“Talking about consorts, we also need many other people.” Aeson said.
“Yeah! We couldn't really finish things because you were busy conquering here and there. But now since you are finally actually here, let's settle it out.” Ian agreed.
I marvelled at how well these two have gotten. Before becoming an Empire, they were always distant, avoiding each other, depending on me and bickering whenever they were forced to work together. I was used to the sight of Aeson relying on me because his past self, Jason who was my half brother-in-law also did rely on me. But Ian relying on me felt somewhat strange because I was used to this sight of me relying on him, not the other way around.
Anyways, now….. They look as if nothing has happened. It was sad in a way but there was a sense of relief.
Aeson handed me a list of names.
“First things first. We have to decide on your personal knight. We already chose ours so-”
“Only if they win against me.” I reminded him.
“Oh um, of course,” Aeson seemed to let this matter slide. “We also need an Adviser. He can work as a Chancellor as well. There were many candidates as you can see on the lists and they are all very wise. You can pick them-”
“Hmm. Do we really need them?” I asked.
“Yes, of course!”
“Then can I just have Ian work for me?” I asked.
“Me?” Ian stammered.
Aeson coughed in his fist. “Well of course he can if he is smart enough.”
Hm, he was right, I had to choose carefully.

But Ian wast such a bad choice. I mean Aeson was naturally smart and if Aeson studied just like Ian Aeson might’ve overshined Ian. But sadly Aeson doesn't really like thinking so decided to fixate more on physical stuff.
Ian on the other hand had natural fast reflexes and unlimited stamina, although once the fighting is over, he is dead exhausted. But he didn't really want to kill people so he decided to be the brains, which is nearly just as bad as killing people.
“Yeah, Ian is fine.” I confirmed.
“Ok. Then one thing is settled.”
“What about the maids and the knights?” Ian asked.
“I don't know anything about maids. You guys just take care of that. I don't really care. The knights… just do the usual competition and we’ll let them fight for their ranks.'' I tried to hide my excitement.
“And if they win? Do they get the usual rank of personal knight?” Aeson asked.
I knew I couldn't deny this, since that was the competition’s main event.
“Fine,” I sighed then came up with a sudden idea. “Only if they win against me. Actually I'll decide based on their skill if they are worthy of being a personal knight.” I added.
Aeson rolled his eyes. “So, are you going to fight the winner one- to-1?”
“No. I’m just going to watch. But I’ll try my best and be fair, guys.”
“Your standards are high.” Aeson sighed.
“Well duh, Aurelia is perfect, and she needs her equal!” Ian chided.
“Shut up guys.” I grumbled even though I was smiling.
We stepped out of the tent ready to leave.
There was a wooden brown carriage.
“Your Majesty, we prepared a carriage for you.” Ian said, suddenly turning formal. Well, I understood since there were many eyes watching us.

I peeked inside. Hm. The carriage seemed somewhat comfortable but it didn't seem to have any other existence other than the door. If we were under attack it would be hard to get out and it would also be hard to kill the attackers before they harm my people.
I tugged Aeson’s sleeve. “I’ll take the horse. No. complains.`` I whispered.
Luckily Aeson did not question me, and gave me his black robe. Then he nodded and dragged Ian into the carriage.
I put on the black robe and saddled on my horse, hoping no one would be stupid enough to attack us since i was tired, hungry and sleepy which would make anyone annoyed. And if they were foolish enough to ambush the Imperial Family…… Well, I guess they’ll have to face a very pissed off Aurelia.

Lone: The Wanderer [Dropped Version (includes original draft of the rewrite's first volume)]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] A/N: This story is in the middle of a rewrite, so please forgive any noticeable plot holes and wonky chapter numbers. I am working on it every day, so understanding would be greatly appreciated. The new cover art is a courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge

Eusocial
There's a reason people made the word improbable. Just because something would never happen based on common sense or reason, doesn't mean it can't happen. For example, a soul maintaining their memories through the River of the afterlife, a stream of ethereal energies that remove and store memories from the recently departed only to return when they die again. Another example, a soul by it's sheer will maintaining awareness during the process of a new body's development; nearly infintesimile chances of happening, but there is still a chance. Hi, you can call me Esseu (S U) and I managed to do both of those nearly impossible things back to back. My reward for such a feat? I was turned into a glorified bee keeper.
