《Harry Potter and the Shadow of the Dark Lord》Chapter - 5

Lily huffed in front of Harry’s door, arms crossed over her chest. The old man had tried reading Harry, a child! In front of her! And he hadn’t even asked. Oh, poor little Harry. She could almost see him crying, trembling in her embrace as he screamed.
“Mommy, help! It’s the fire! Mommy!” Harry cried, eyes clouded. Dumbledore watched, his serene expression interrupted by shock. Lily gasped, holding onto Harry as if afraid he might be taken. She stared at Dumbledore with her eyes burning, a growl rising in her throat.
Her breaths did little to calm her. A two year old child! How could he possibly be a match for Dumbledore, who most called the greatest living wizard? Oh, how she despised the old man for what he did. If he wanted to know, why not ask?
”I suspected that your son was speaking to another man, who helped him attempt to cast a spell. From his memories I saw a wizard teaching him, allowing him to cast spells he should not have known the name of. Wingarduim Levosita, Aguamenti, no child should have learned these. Much less cast it without the help of a wand.”
Lily’s anger boiled in her throat. Another wizard? A spell? Ridiculous! Snape would kiss James’ corpse before a child of two learned to cast a spell students struggled with in their sixth year. That was with a wand, what could Harry hope to do without one? Had she not known Dumbledore for years she may have suspected that it was a joke, but his voice was serious.
“My suspicions were confirmed when I read him. Your son knows a man he called Mag, I cannot be sure what else. I suspect that he has been possessed by some dark spell. If you would allow me to examine him-”

Lily shook her head. No, she had asked. Harry knew no wizard by the name of Mag, neither did she. There was no wizard named Mag in all of Godric’s Hollow! Why would Harry lie? Was she so bad a mother Harry would trust a stranger more than her? No, impossible. Dumbledore was being foolish. If it was a wizard the Ministry would know, and besides, what fool would try to teach such a spell before allowing Harry to master the basics? Without a wand? How many wizards could accomplish such a thing? Could Dumbledore himself? Preposterous.
“You cannot ignore this, Lily. Have you not seen your son staring blankly into the distance, laughing or screaming at something that was never there? Have you heard him speaking to himself late at night, muttering names? No child does these things, Lily. Harry may be-”
“My son is not insane! He’s just an erratic child. Just a child!” Lily screamed.
“Mommy?” Harry's voice came from the room. “Are you okay?”
Lily took another breath. No, she was scaring Harry. “Mommy is fine, Harry.” She said. She wouldn’t think about it, she would not. Dumbledore meant well, she was not blind to that. He was just growing paranoid, seeing ghosts in every shadow now that Voldemort was dead. Sometimes Lily wasn’t sure if Dumbledore believed it, the way he acted. It was almost as if he were waiting, preparing for a dead man to return from the grave.
She opened the door. “Harry! Mommy has some books for you. Here, mommy will teach you some magic.” She said, painting a smile on her face.
“Yay!” Harry cheered, waving his hands as if he had won the lottery.
Lily felt some of her stress vanishing, her smile was not forced this time.
