“She looks familiar” Carl said as the group of adventurers went out the door. He picked one of the posters up and studied the female face on it.
Bill went around the table and joined Carl. He stared at the poster and then said: “Isn’t it one of the elves that just got out the door?”
Carl looked up at the door. “Oh, yeah. It was her, wasn’t it?”
“Pretty sure”.
Another guard entered from the back door behind Carl and Bill. It was the new guy, Ellis. Or was it Boris? “Anything new today?” His high and young voice cut Carl’s ears as if by knife. This guy was annoying as Hera’s tits were soggy. But they all were. The new guys couldn’t help it. They just didn’t know shit how this job worked.
“Just two bounties, that’s all”, Bill answered.
“Two criminals to be brought to justice?! Wonderful! Let me see”. Ellis, or Boris, grabbed one of the posters from the table and stared at it intensely. “I know this lady. She was one of the adventurers that took that loger quest just this morning”. He sharply put down the paper. “Where are they? Where is she?!” he asked the two guards then said to himself: “Oh, her immense beauty must have tricked me. I should have known that it was only meant to deceive a young guard like me!”
“Ellis”, Carl said. “Calm down”.
“I told you several times: my name is Dennis!”
“Fine, Dennis. I am just asking for you not to worry about it”.
“What do you mean?”
“Just leave the gal alone. She’ll have enough trouble with the villagers, no need for you to interfere”.
“You are suggesting that we let this criminal scum go?!”
Carl shrugged. “Pretty much”.

Dennis gasped. “How can you say that?! She is a murderer!” Carl and Bill both looked at the poster before them. They whispered between themselves. “What are you two whispering about?”
Carl looked up at the new guy. “Dennis. Just look at her face. Do you really think that she is a murderer?”
“That’s how they get us! First, they murder someone, then they deceive us with their looks, and after that they kill us as well! We must catch her!”
“Dennis”, Bill interfered. “Do you really think that we’ll get paid for it?”
“What?”
“Listen. I’ve been in this job for much longer than you were. We, guards, won’t get any bounties. We are the ones supposed to pay them. Just leave the gal to the locals, they’ll bring her to us”.
The elven guard looked at them in disgust. “It’s not about money! It’s about justice! This cunning lady just killed a future Tohcraft hero! And others must have helped her do it!” He stomped off to the exit. “You two are pathetic. You don’t deserve the title of a guard”. The new guy has slammed the door behind himself.
Carl and Bill looked at each other with knowing expressions. “Should we help him?” Carl asked Bill.
“Nah. I think Ellis can handle it himself”.

Depends on what side you are, you have heard two stories what happened 15 years ago. One side says that a rebel trio Gorgos fought against the opressive goverment of Ashphodea, only known as gods, and won. Edan, son of Medusa, the most known of the Gorgos, and Andi, daughter of the assitant to the Ashphodea's golden boy Perseus, are both sick of the secrets their parents keep from them. They want answers, and they are going to get them, with our without their mothers help. ——— This is a re telling of the myth of Medusa in a dystopian setting, where a the Gorgos are the teen rebel archetypes now in their thrities, war isn't as black and white as you think, and the gods are as ruthless as they always were.
