《Beauty Perspective》Chapter 4

Nolan reached down to grab the shaman's staff. 'Now that I've got magic, I'm sure this will come in handy.' He then walked back to the others to check on them, and finish off any goblin still alive.

He sang his own little song as he worked. "Stabby stab stab stab. Stabby stabby stab." It was creepy and terrible.

When he reached Tom, he sounded chipper. "So Tom, when do I get my slaves?"

Since Tom was tired and laying on his back. It looked scary and a bit threatening, to look up to see Nolan give him a creepy smile, and covered in blood, as he leaned on his spear. "As soon as we get to the slaver in town. It's two miles east of the dungeon." Tom started to get up now. "Before we go, we need to search this area for valuables. If anyone died in here, they would have gathered their stuff here. By the way, what rank are you?"

Nolan frowned while thinking. 'He must mean adventurer rank in a guild.' "Never joined up. I've got trust issues. But, I might join up after this." ... "What rank are you guys?"

"D-rank. We're a team, so we can do C-rank stuff. Like taking on a goblin dungeon."

"Cool."Nolan started to walk away, before he stopped. He thought about something, then moved on. He checked on the others. 'Bow guy is good. Smells like he pissed himself though. The healer seems exhausted. I wonder if using magic strains the body mentally or physically as well.' He checked on the slaves next.

"Are you okay Celine?"

"Yes. Didn't think you would do something so stupid." She said with a glare. She then realized something. "I-I'm sorry. You will be my master soon. I shouldn't talk to you like that."

"It's cool. I did do something stupid, but they were backing out. I didn't want to chance them backing out of our deal. Or demand more for wasted time. Besides, I really needed to get that shaman."

He then looked to Lina, who was breathing heavily with her helmet next to her. 'She looks sexy like that. If I could trust the others to not back stab me, I'd take her now.'

"Is something wrong?" Lina noticed him staring at her.

He quickly looked away and fought his urges. "It's nothing. Im gonna look around for anything valuable. Take a breather and we should be leaving soon. The sooner we get to town the better."

Celine then whispered to Lina. "He's having trouble keeping himself from taking you right now."

"You really think so?"

Nolan started looking through trash he found. The goblins did kill some people, but the most valuable items were iron or steel weapons. Less than a dozen goblins had one. "Alright, nothing worth finding, let's go." He was in a hurry to leave.

"See. He wants you so bad, that he's starting to lose it. If you do things right, you can have him wrapped around your finger."

"I'm not losing it, their's only junk in here and I just want to leave." He was starting to lose it, with his blood pumping wildly and the way Lina looked, he was barely keeping himself under control.

Celine and Lina both blushed, realizing he heard them.

... When they returned to Nolan's place, he tried to put the shaman's staff inside the chest. 'Damnit. It won't fit. Okay calm down Nolan. You can do this. Get out of the dungeon, walk two miles to town, claim the girls and then.... I have no idea what to do next.'

"Hey, Nolan. May I have the staff, you already have your hands full with the chest. I'm sure you could buy a better one, with all that gold, than a smelly goblin one." Mary asked sweetly. She even fluttered her eyes at him.

'Somethings not right. She's actually talking to me, and being nice about it.' Nolan stared at her for a few moments.

He then heard a cough, it was Tom. "Should we give you two some space?"

"No, I'd rather not have a knife in my back." Nolan then ripped up a sack he had and made some strips. He then used it to tie the staff to him and picked up the chest. "Let's go."

"Wait! I deserve that staff. You need to give that to me." Mary demanded.

"Why do you deserve it?"

"Because I'm the healer, the only magic user. You already have the secret chest. You don't need it."

He then looked at the other two. Tom put his hands up and shook his head. Fred however, his hand seemed to be itchy. Nolan then calmly spoke. "I have been trapped in here killing goblins for four months. I found the chest, by myself. I killed the shaman and charged those goblins, when you guys wanted to turn back. Are you going to try an rob me?"

Fred's hand was no longer itchy as he backed up. Mary, however, turned red with anger. Tom decided to step forward. "Nolan is right. Now, let's get going. I'm sure we all want to bathe, eat a nice hot meal and sleep in a bed. Let's go."

Everyone followed his lead and left the dungeon. It took about a day to get out. He barely interacted with any of them, even Celine. It was obvious that he would kill anyone who tried touch his chest. So they all kept their distance from him.

A few hours later and they reached the town. After Tom paid the toll to the guards, who gave Nolan strange looks, Nolan spoke.

"Where's the slaver?"

"You in a hurry, Nolan?" Tom teased. They all knew why he was getting so cranky. He was unwilling to let the chest out of sight. Even when they sent Lina to him. He just told her to go away. He hasn't slept much, and he'd been staring at every woman he could see.

"Come on, this way to the slaver." Tom eventually relented. It was fun messing with Nolan, but he wanted his money.

When they walked into the shop, a man quickly came to greet them. "Welcome to my humble slave shop. What may I ask are you looking for?" His eyes were glued to the chest. When he heard the jingle of coins, when the chest was put down, his eyes lit up even more.

"We're here to transfer ownership." Tom got straight to the point.

"For now." Nolan wanted to ask the slaver a few questions later.

"I see." The slaver seemed disappointed, but got back to business. "The names Trevor. Trevor the slaver." He said with a business smile. "Transfer of ownership is two silvers per slave."

Nolan nudged the girls to him. "These two lovely ladies are being transferred to me."

Trevor looked them over. "Show me your marks."

Celine and Lina both undressed enough to show their bare chests. A tattoo was in the center above there breasts. As the slaver got to work, Nolan looked Celine over.

'Dear god. She's skin and bones. Why is she like this? Was the bow guy too cheap to buy her food?'

As Nolan was distracted, they had already finished. "Sir." Trevor was trying to get his attention. "Sir, we need your blood now."

Now that he got Nolan's attention, they proceeded. Cutting a finger, Nolan dripped a few drops of blood on the tattoos. They glowed for a moment, then stopped.

'Ding'

(Congratulations, you have gained ownership of a Demi human boar.)

'Ding'

(Congratulations, you have gained ownership of a Demi human rat.)

'At least I know it worked.'

"Time for you to finish the deal, Nolan." Tom said.

Nolan walked to the chest and counted out the coins. Ten for Fred and twenty for Tom.

After he handed the gold over, Tom and his group left.

"Wait, how much did you pay for who?" Trevor was curious. Business was done in his shop and he didn't know what was going on.

"Ten for Celine and twenty for Lina." He replied as he pointed to each.

"You do know you paid too much, right? The rat, at most, was worth six. The boar, maybe fifteen. Is this your first time with slaves?"

"Well, technically, a few days ago was my first time with a slave." He said with a smirk.

Lina blushed and looked away.

Trevor smiled and laughed. "Sounds like you liked the girl enough to be worth a few extra gold. Now, what else do you want from me?"

Nolan handed him a gold coin. "Can you answer some questions?"

... after Nolan explained that he was the equivalent of a country bumpkin, he learned a few things. And lost ten gold.

If it's an order, the slave mark compels a slave to obey. If they refuse or fail, it causes them pain. Anything else is choice.

Also, their are storage rings. Trevor told them of a dwarven enchanter who sells them, and would buy the jewels. Which was also part of a blacksmith and leather shop. It was all run by a dwarven family. Dwarves are high quality and expensive. They are the ones you go to, when you have enough coin.

"Just tell them that Trevor the slaver sent you, that should help you a bit. And the Howling Tavern is the best place for your group to stay. Come back soon if you want another slave, or information."

Nolan looked the girls over. "Yep, we all need better stuff. Let's go." He then picked his chest up and left the slaver. It was lighter, so less of an annoyance. His new slaves following close behind.
