《The Epic of Gaia》Side Story: Myra "A Desperate Hope"

“Father, the preparations are complete and the call has been put out”
The young girl said as she knelt in front of her father.
“Good, it's that time again. Remember, no one can know about you. If you are discovered, I have to claim no knowledge of you”
“Yes”
“Carry out your orders faithfully and never forget where your loyalties lie”
“Yes. Until we meet again father”
“I look forward to good news”
Seven people stood in the clearing and glanced at each other.
Each one of them had come here of their own accord after they heard an interesting rumor.
Suddenly, an eighth figure appeared in front them.
“My name is Myra and I was the one to put out the call. Since you all came, I can only assume that you all know that this
is a one way trip”
With the girl that appeared, there were now three women and five men.
One of the men walked forward and nodded.
“Yes to kill the Elder King Falvor”
“How do you intend for us to do an impossible task?”
One of the other men said with great doubt.
Myra had put the rumor out that anyone who wanted to end the tyrant king's rule should meet her here.
Seven people answered the call, which was more than she had thought would come.
After all, who would be so foolish to try to kill an elder dragon.
Especially one that was considered a king.
“Before I proceed, you must know that your lives are basically forfeit if you agree to this. And any traitors will be killed on
the spot, either by the king's orders or by my hand”
No one moved despite the somber words of Myra.
“We're all prepared to die other wise we wouldn't be here would we?”

“Yes but are you prepared to die for nothing? The mere flap of an elder dragon's wings could snap your neck. And you'll
probably be tortured for the location of any other dissidents”
Still no one moved and Myra understood that for one reason or another, these people were ready to die.
“Well, now that it's settled, I'll tell you the plan. And like I said before, I'll kill you if you decide to leave after”
Myra took the time to glance over the walking corpses and was satisfied with their resolve.
“Now, you all know elder dragons can only be killed by another elder dragon correct?”
Everyone nodded and Myra continued.
“Well this is because their scales are probably the most toughest material on earth. So much so that only the claws of an
elder dragon can pierce it. And not to mention the fact that they are impervious to magic. Which leaves us with the
obvious answer, we need another elder to kill an elder”
“That's insane, elders fighting are basically equal to or worst than natural disasters”
“Yes that is a concern, but what if I were to say that we could do it with only us?”
“”””””“WHAT?”””””””
Everyone was confused but at the same time excited.
Myra had just spoke of a way that humans could kill an elder king.
“Now, now just because we can doesn't mean we will. COME! These are the tools that we will use”
Myra turned around and pointed to a box filled with weapons and armor.
“WHAT! This. . This is”
“Careful, and yes all of these came from an elder dragon”
There were suits of armor able to be adjusted to the wearer.
The scales of an elder could be seen on them.
The weapons looked far more interesting to the group.

An elder dragon's claws looked like bone and that was the theme of the weapons.
There were several swords of varying lengths, a spear, a set of daggers, a shield, and a bow with a quiver.
“Take the weapon best suited to you. I tried to get a range of them but I didn't know who would come. Oh and you with
the bow, there's not going to be any more arrows. Save them for elders”
Each one of the arrows were tipped with a bit of elder dragon claw.
“How did you get these?”
One girl said what was on everyone's mind.
Myra smiled.
“My father helped me, but if you must know. . . These are the clippings and molted skin of an elder. Yes, we're using
their refuse but that doesn't matter. I had to dig them out of the ground. It was a lot of work, thankfully my father made
the weapons and armor”
Myra showed them her hands and they could see that they were covered in bandages with a hint of red near each of her
finger tips.
“You dug them out by hand?”
“Of course, a small sacrifice for the death of my enemies”
“We'll use them well”
“Now I said we're going to kill Falvor but he's not the only target or even the first one. First we have to kill his lieutenants.
Otherwise they'll just replace him. And when they're dead, we can arm an army from their dead bodies and finally kill the
king”
Everyone looked at Myra and nodded.
Before none of them thought they had a chance, but something drew them to Myra's cause.
Now they had hope and the chance to free humanity if they were successful.
This was the start of a long and arduous fight for them.
History would never know of them but it was ultimately Myra's actions that would change the world in ways none of them
could have foreseen.

Luck Lockyer
Luck Lockyer was the type of man to smirk in the dark, the expression not for anyone but himself. One of perpetual amusement. The bright side of things were hard to find in the shade yet his amber eyes were always searching. The smirk was his default, he knew it, his friends knew it, his family knew it. It was his most natural state. But the death of everyone close to you can affect a downwards curve on the mouths of even the most stoic people. Without purpose, without anyone to do the job for, Luck Lockyer found himself inside an empty forgotten church. The perpetual smirk on his face had slipped to a thin line, his scar more noticeable now than ever before. His amber eyes, the windows to his soul, dull and lifeless. To anyone who knew him, it was the clothing that gave away his mental state, denim pants and a plain black t-shirt. If that wasn't enough, the tears running down his face certainly would, the echoing sobs of a broken man rang across the rundown church. It was on a whim, but Luck Lockyer prayed, he prayed for many things, for death, revenge, friends, but the one prayer dominating his thoughts, a second chance for his family. That was all he wanted. Simple. It was then, on the outskirts of a polluted city, in an abondoned lot, in a forgotten church that Luck Lockyer, the Devil of the Cards, the Bloodless Hand, the Amber Demon, the Broken, was answered by a being from another world and one from his. *found the picture online
