《The Epic of Gaia》Chapter 2: The Time I Beat Some Bandits

After the battle, I started to loot the remains.
This was actually harder work than fighting the demon.
In the end, all I found was the giant cleaver he had been using.
Whatever I guess I’ll shave it down to a sword.
I returned to my dragon form and used my claws to reshape it as a sword.
I could just break off a claw and use that as a sword.
But It’ll probably raise suspicion on me for having something stronger than most legendary weapons.
I did my best to form a hilt and it became a straight sword.
Finally, I gave it some power by pouring some of the goatman’s mana in to the sword.
It turned the weapon black and ominous.
It’s probably cursed now, but as long as I’m stronger than it then it obeys my will.
Oh well, it’ll be a good sword for a while.
I had looked over the ruins for survivors but they were all probably dead.
The goatman had been kidnapping people and torturing them.
He was trying to concentrate human suffering in to a form he could absorb.
Honestly, I try not to mettle in other’s affairs, but he was just asking for it.
Even then he was one of the weaker demon king candidates.
There are worst ones out there.
My master taught me how to use a sword but it’s really hard not to default to magic when your opponent does too.
This human form can only use strength appropriate to it.
So, I had to use some body reinforcement spells beforehand.
I finished up the sword and fashioned a quick sheath then I went on my way.
I walked for a little bit on the path when I saw an overturned cart on the road.
“Hey do you need some help?”

I approached and saw a crying, hunched over figure, probably an old woman.
When I was about to tap her shoulder, she quickly reacted.
“Huh???”
“she” threw her cloak over my face and I felt a blow to the back of my head.
It didn’t affect me at all but I decided to see where this went.
I pretended to be knocked out and soon I was tied up in a sack.
“BOYS WE GOT ONE!!!”
A loud and gruff voice suddenly shouted.
“”””””WOOOOOO”””””
Huh sounds like they’re bandits or slavers.
Well I was already suspicious but honestly they might have some good loot at their hideout.
Someone threw me over their back and started walking.
Multiple voices spoke on the way but nothing was useful.
As a result, I went to sleep.
“!!??”
I was jolted awake as I was thrown in to a cell.
I looked around and I seem to be in cave.
The cell was just a locked bar door in front of a small cave.
I started to look at the back and noticed several people with me.
There were 5 girls huddled in the back in ragged clothes.
Yep these men were definitely not going to weigh on my conscience if they were gone. J
ust when I thought about rushing through the doors, someone called out.
“Hey . .are. . are you alright?”
“Hm?”
I turned towards the girl.
She seemed to be about 17 and had short brown hair and eyes.
“They caught us from the road and now . . .”
She seemed to be the only one who still had any reason left.
The others were just cowering together.
“What’s your name?”
“It’s . . . Trish”
“Well Trish you can call me Gia”
She nodded and didn’t want to seem to speak any longer.

“HEY, new girl. Acquainting yourself with the rest of the pack? Hahaha”
A fat and hairy man appeared in front of the cage.
I smiled and motioned for him to get closer to the bars.
He got curious and actually did it.
I grabbed some of the mangy hair on his head and slammed him against the bars. “Won’t you be nice and open the doors?”
I asked sweetly.
But then
“!?!?”
Someone tried to hit me again from the back.
I turned around and saw Trish dropping a rock from her right hand.
Alright enough of this, time to get out.
I reached over to Trish and grabbed her right hand.
Then I squished it and broke all her bones.
“GAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!”
Her screams echoed throughout the cave and I turned back to the man.
“She needs some medical help, so why don’t you open these bars?”
He hurriedly complied and I thanked him by knocking him out.
He’ll wake up form that. . .probably.
I can’t fight fist to fist with a high demon but I could still beat most humans.
Pain. . . so much pain.
That bitch just crushed my hand.
It hurts so much that I’m just shaking on the floor.
I helped the bandits prevent the other girls from running in exchange for better treatment.
But it seems this girl is too strong.
I saw her walk out the cage and run towards the other bandits.
I could only hear screaming and the sounds of fighting.
I blanked out shortly after. . .
“???”
I woke up to the cold splash of water to my face.
“So, Trish, the bandits and some of the girls have told me that you’ve been selling them out. Is that true?”
I was currently sitting on chair in front of a table.
Gia was at the other end and the other girls were standing around.
I could see the bodies of all the bandits around.
“. . .”
I didn’t reply and could only look at my flattened hand.
“Oh that? Let me help you”
“AAAAAAA”
She suddenly grabbed my forearm and slammed a red hot blade through it.
I jerked my arm back and stared at her with hatred in my eyes.
“YOU BITCH, FIRST MY HAND AND NOW THIS?”
“What? Now you don’t have to look at a pancake”
My head was filled with so many thoughts and emotions right now.
But I could barely think from the pain.
“Don’t worry I won’t kill you, this seems like punishment enough. Well I got some of their gold so I’m leaving now good luck”
With that she walked out and left me surrounded by the remaining girls. . .
