《Never Bring Sword Into a Gun Fight》Catala

It's been 2 hours since I got here. This is not too bad of a world after all. A nice breeze with the sound of a shallow river beside me. It kinda makes me sleepy.

After reading that book of introduction. There isn't much info I got. I think that God is purposely keeping out a lot of detail from me so I can enjoy this world.

I mean to be someone with overpowering skill and knowledge in a new world is nice and all, but the fun will only last until what? 3 years? 5 years?

I've been living hell in my past 32 years of life so wanting an enjoyable life for more than that is not too selfish right?

And I guess I rather have some skill and capabilities just enough to keep me safe while spending the rest of my second life here exploring this vast new world. Yep. This is fine.

But seriously, that God!! Only 24 rounds?

I don't know how many people in a single bandit group that I might encounter here.

I've been itching to just fire a single shot just to get the feel of a real gun! But I can't just wastefully spending that round at least yet.

So, this world is Catala.

Populace? Don't know

Kingdom faction? Don't know

Technological knowledge? Medieval. It's enough for trebuchet but still not reach gun powder era.

Magic advancement? Enough to make an excuse of a gun is a magic tool.

Demi-human? Yes, there's is. From ordinary mixed genes to mutant types like werewolves and vampires.

Adventurers? Yes and no.

Adventurers in this world are not like that muscle head with that adventurer guild and such.

Adventurer here is simply a wonderer. A nomad people that move from one place to another as their means of life or income.

There's a bunch of professions that make you a wanderer.

A bard

A musician and poet that wandering Catala spreading some story in the form of music. They not only get money from people's pity. A bard is a proclaimed information gatherer. They spread the information with vague enough detail using music and poet so you can pay him to know the detail of that information. Also, you can pay up to silent that information if you wish. And both of these can bring a lot of money.

It's a risky job because other than money, you can also get a sword stuck in your throat when dealing with shady information.

A priest

Basically a missionary from a bunch of religious teaching. They get their fill from the believer pity and sometimes they also do some praying ceremony for a village to get a better harvest and such. I don't have information about the religions in Catala. But I think it doesn't matter for the God that I met. I'm an atheist myself in my past life, so I think as long as you live your life as a decent human being, praying for any God you believe didn't really matter.

A healer

A traveling magician who dealt in healing spells, potions, herbs, and medicine. There's a healer that staying in some village or town, but sometimes when you need a medicine or herb that can only be found in a certain area, a traveling healer can come in handy.

A merchant

A traveling merchant. Ranging from someone who only using a backpack or a group of merchants with a bunch of carts traveling together. Also dealt with information but usually, it's for a high-end customer.

The jack (of all trades)

A person or a group that doing an odd job here and there. They can help with anything from cleaning chicken coop to building a barn as long as there's some money.

Mercenaries

A sword and shield for hire.

No, they don't have an identification card or ranking system. Their reputation is spreading from mouth to mouth.

Some may have a good enough reputation they get hired to be a knight. Some groups can become big enough that they have their recruitment system. Or in a bad situation, they can be considered as a disturbance and became fugitives in some Kingdom.

About the quest system, in this world, there's a quest or a job listed on the information board in every village. But in a small village, you might need to ask directly to the village elder for any job available. Finally, In a big town, there's a dedicated information center building for this.

This information facility is free to use for residents. But if you have enough money, you can pay another village to list your request on their information board. A Kingdom official might also use this information facility to put a fugitive poster and such.

Also, some bards might deal with request information if they think it's juicy enough.

Hmm... So based on this. The best choice I have is a mercenary then

[OYYYY!! HAVE YOU BEEN WAITING LONG??]
