POV Change
“Chech, why did I agree to stay here again this is boring ‘Boom’ there is only so much I can do here ‘Bang’ to pass the time” ‘The target splinters yet again as my shot lands where I want it to, first was a shot to the lower portion then another to the chest to take it out. Letting loose earth shots is my prefered attack since wrenching some earth from the ground and compressing it is a simple and quick task. Conjuring a fireball does not have that impact, air is not strong enough unless I spend more time and water is pointless on something without a need to breath or see not to mention does not do much damage. Perhaps conjuring mana infused earth would have more impact but this is meant to be a quick attack’
“Milady you are making very good progress with your earth shot, that should count for something” ‘that would be Cade the maid for Marcus trying to console me, normally a maid would not be this uppity but since she is technically my senior from teachings under lady Norma and Rasia not to mention I hate formality’
“Just because I am does not mean I am happy”
“But milady you are growing stronger here” And that would be Bradburn the valet for Marcus, also a warrior being taught by Landon the ex orichalcum adventurer and butler of the family.
“I know but still this is annoying”
‘I decide I need something else besides my earth shot spell and start conjuring a flare to strike another target with. This is the spell I have been working on when I get tired of using earth shot and it has improved with practice. The lick of flame spirals through the air and impacts on the chest of the target burning straight through as ashes fly back and front from the burning now see through practice dummy. Nice to see the damage but this is not enough to work out my frustrations’

“ I need a cup of tea” ‘something to take a break from mindlessly slinging spells at a target’
“Yes milady I have a brew ready on the table” ahh that sounds nice, the tea brews here are exotic being near the frontier and trade with the tribes.
“Very well a short break is in order, is there anything I should be aware of?”
“No milady, the search parties are already deep in the forest and we won’t be aware of anything for a few days” ‘If only they had let me join this would be an interesting diversion from everyday monotony of my teachings’
“This is a pain, Cade practice with me I need to let off some steam” I need to hit something and Cade knows how to fight so this should be fun
“Yes milady, as you will” she bows and waits for me to go change into practice gear with her.
“Brad go take a walk and ask if the Wylevens have anything interesting to do while waiting?”
“Of course milady” ‘No need for him to watch us practice, he makes too much noise cheering us on like this is entertainment for him. Some comment about this being a rare thing to see in the kingdom, I do not need reminders about those nobles who visit father and give me pitiful looks when they see me with a magic tome ’
‘I hope this is distracting enough for me, if only I could have ordered them to let me come but there are limits to misuse of authority as much as I dislike that. I sigh as I take out my pocket watch its counterpart now with Marcus, a twin set made at the same time by mastercraftsman. I did not lie when I said that I wanted it to be a charm for his safety, he is one of the few that I can be open around. The servants from home do care in their way but will only ever keep me at a certain distance and those are only the open minded ones. Sigh I should get stronger, then when and I mean when he comes back we can discuss my progress. He is truly the first person who treats me so honestly and encourages me unlike the others back home who look aghast at a female mage, those despicable fools. This is truly a welcoming place for me and I do not want it ruined by some marauding monster’

This is a rewrite of my first and only story & I hope to do it justice. The story follows the journey of a group of young men and women as they begin playing Prism. Fair warning, once we move past the initial arc, there will be POV changes as I move from one party member to another or, occasionally, to the viewpoint of some minor characters.Any feedback or suggestions that you might have are more than welcome!Release Schedule: New chapter every Sunday.Cover Art by: Tsuu ([email protected])Prism's Discord Server.

Curiosity Killed The Imp
A/N: On hiatus (higher priority). The story is planned out but I need to do some rewriting for clarity and cohesiviness. Still very interested in the story though. Aeris is a place of endless conflict. Bloody evolution is the way forward, and the closed fist is the path given. Life is a luxury granted only to the strong. In a tiny corner, at the edge of a volcanic land, is born an imp. An imp no different from any other save one thing. An anomaly in its code. A blip in its creation. For unlike other imps, this one was born…curious. Book Cover by Betty Elgyn: https://www.deviantart.com/bettyelgyn
