Today was going as normal, I had just completed some light exercises after waking up and after cleaning up went to have breakfast in one of the small dining rooms. Cade and Brad had just cleaned up everything and I was leaving when Brad spoke.

“Hey Mar, Boss said that you should go to the library after this. Something about have a lesson, apparently your dad is there as well so it's something big”.

“Got it Brad, any ideas what it could be?”

“Only a little, they had some books stacked up and the healer was there. Also the lord father looked nervous while the other two looked like they were taking jabs at him”.

“Alright, I’ll go. Do I need to bring anything?”

“Nah he said just to head over for the talk, oh also Dalen’s there, looks like it's a group lesson”

Hmm my father, the head butler, and also the healer and his apprentice. A bit of an odd group for this, usually if they have lessons the butler and father are together but not the healer. Could this be some lesson more magic or ki, Dad was eventually told about the talismans but he only said to make sure not to lose them. Hmm has anything happened, I had a growth spurt a couple of weeks ago but other than that it was just training my various weapons along with regeneration work. Speaking of that apparently after enough use I can memorize the forms from the talisman and use it without the talisman. In particular closing my eyes and essentially meditating makes regeneration more efficient, well except for muscle pains from sitting but those went away after I got used to it again. Well here we are at the library.

“Ahh son you are here, we are here to discuss somethings about how boys become men”

‘What, wait boys become men, is this that ‘talk’ that all parents dread’

“As boys grow up they experience some changes that you have already had at least one of them”

“In particular your growth spurt and soon to be many others”

‘Yep,....this is awkward for me’

“Now we are going to explain about some of the things that could occur”

‘Well let's just cut out that speech from the three, giving this talk my own kids was enough for me. Being on the receiving end is embarrassing, I myself never did have the talk with my own parents since they let the schools take care of it with info videos’

“And now son time for a bit more of a family talk, I have some stuff to let you know about the bloodline and such so come with me to the study”

‘Wait, what was that I was not paying attention’

“Father what do you mean?”

“Ah just some explanations about your future growth and some things you should be careful of, I will explain everything”

“Alright? Father”

Well after walking over to father’s private study, a room with various trophies of creatures I don’t want to know or weapons. Wait there is even a group of what can only be figurines on a table in various stances like someone wanted a to make a scene with minis. Well at least there is nothing too crazy out on display.

“Now son when two people who love each other very much have a kid for the most part it will take after the mother’s race as decreed by the gods and in particular the goddess of love Celisti’Alsri. But the child will inherit some parts of the father, whether it be natural strength, cunning, magic ability. Our family line is quite diverse, while mostly human there are some aelurus, aelfen, and other bloodlines from marriages the family has gone through. This has established blood ties with many of our neighbors on the plains or forests. Eventually we will have you visit them”

“I have more family?”

“Yes, you have a lot of distant aunts and uncles,....not to mention the great aunts”

‘I think I know where that matriarchy thing came from, rip dad rip’

“We will have them visit eventually after you have gotten old enough, and completed more of your training. They are very happy about having more family, you will foster under one or the other branch and train under their techniques at the location of their tribe. This will be a good training for you in order to be better fulfill your duty”

“Yes father”

Very much beating me over the head with this are we. I wonder what the ducal family’s daughter will be like I hope she will at least be manageable.
