Chapter 182 - Brand New Day (Part 6)

Earth:

Nazar returned to Earth and found Aarin waiting for him.

“I am done,” Aarin said immediately as she saw Nazar.

Nazar was gone for a long time now.

“Thanks.”

Nazar looked at his palms.

And then within it, an energy ball appeared.

“Mix that spell with this energy ball. Can you do it?”

“Don’t worry, I already did it.”

“Huh?”

Nazar was surprised.

“All the undead are… well, you know, those who belong in the other world are there now and those who belong in this world are here now.”

“Ah, I see.”

Aarin had already brought back some the undead properly to the land of the living. And let the others rest. They were now where they belonged.

“And since the government was going to collapse… Well, I fixed that too. And everyone who was affected by the demon.”

Nazar was truly surprised.

“You are an angel, after all.”

“Wait, what did you think I was?”

“A demon?”

Aarin smiled lightly.

“So, what are you going to do now?”

Nazar thought about it.

“Well, I am going to go back to being a child. And live a normal life,” Nazar said as he shrugged.

Aarin gave him a blank look.

“Well, I just manipulated their minds so they can have a next child and name her Emma.”

“That’s...”

“I want to live my life differently this time. I will not have powers or anything… Well, at least others will not know about it. But everyone will find out one day when the world needs me. Or after I die, I will just leave Earth and no one will notice a thing.”

“I see...”

Aarin was not sure how to react to that.

“Oh, I just need to do one thing.”

Nazar vanished into thin air and then reappeared back in this place in less than a second.

“I just went and took away Emily’s bizarre energy. She will be normal in this world too.”

“O-oh.”

Nazar looked around as he let out a sigh of relief.

“You can go back to Heaven. But if you want, you can always visit me once in a while. Of course, if you want it.”

She chuckled.

“Okay. Now that I have God’s permission, I shall visit you often.”

“Please don’t call me that.”

“And what about your hair? And eyes?”

“I think I will keep.”

“Oh.”

She was not sure why but didn’t really ask.

“And the barrier? What if it comes down?”

“Ah, that.”

Nazar’s hand twitched.

“It won’t break unless I break it myself.”

“O-oh...?”

Even though she is an angel, she finds some of the things Nazar do unbelievable and breathtaking.

“Oh, and I am leaving the demon Bur’goth alive. I will take care of him later.”

“I see.”

Aarin went closer to Nazar.

“If you ever need help, you know where to find me. And don’t push your powers unless its the last resort, okay?”

“Okay,” Nazar said with a smile.

She smiled and then hugged.

“Goodbye.”

And then she vanished into thin air.

Nazar sighed once more.

“Let’s see how this life will go...”

He stood in this timeless place for a few minutes.

“I guess I will go back to being a child now.”

He couldn’t help but laugh.

“It’s going to be weird.”

He snapped his fingers and time resumed.

And he was a newborn child once more.

He saw someone holding him close.

It was his mother.

And he felt his heart skip a beat.

He was so close to becoming old again and killing her.

But.

He saw something.

He saw her smile.

A smile he has never seen before.

Was she really happy that she had a child? Or was it a lab rat?

“Welcome... Nazar,” his mother told him with a wide smile on her face.

Hearing her voice like that, he couldn’t help but get flashbacks.

He had never heard her like this.

She sounded different.

His face formed a horrified expression.

Seeing that, his mother started to look worried.

“What’s wrong, sweetie?”

He knew that part of it was not her fault but he couldn’t forgive her.

But seeing this now, he felt conflicted.

“Ah, I will take care of him. You rest now.”

He heard his father’s voice.

He remembered the things they did to him and he couldn’t relax.

His heart kept skipping beats.

He felt his body being picked up by someone.

“Come here, Nazar.”

He felt his father kissing him on his forehead.

And Nazar’s mind went into confusion once more.

It took him a while but he finally managed to relax a little and get his thoughts together.

Once he was calm, he noticed that he was staring his father right in the eyes.

This was different from last time too.

Even though they didn’t know he was special, but to them - as they were being controlled by the demon - Nazar was nothing but a future lab rat.

“Oh?”

“What’s wrong, honey?”

“Nothing… Did you notice his eyes? They are red.”

“Red? As in he is--”

“No, not that kind of red. But the colour of his eyes is not black or blue or green… but red.”

“O-oh?”

He heard them talking about his eyes.

“Maybe it will change?”

“Could be. But I think it looks good.”

They continued to talk but Nazar was not sure how to feel.

He couldn’t do anything about it but he knew and accepted that this is the beginning of his new life.

Epilogue:

1st of January, 2021 - London, United Kingdom, Earth:

It was new year’s noon and Nazar was lying down, doing something on his phone.

In this timeline, he lived with his biological family. He grew up together with his siblings and Aria.

And no one considered him special.

Once he turned 18, he decided that if he wants to continue a normal life, he had to get a proper job and for that, he needed a degree.

Of course, the ‘normal’ life was just a cover.

And now he is in the third year of his university.

Since he has come to the UK for the university, he goes back to meet his family a few times a year. And he definitely goes to meet them during New years. But this year is different. He has a plan and wanted to stay home. And he was expecting Aarin last night but she hasn't appeared yet.

“Waiting is so boring.”

As he was lying down in this small living room of his small apartment, someone teleported in.

It was a tall and a muscular man, wearing an armour.

It was…

“Sup, Baros?”

“I have brought some news,” Baros said with a smile.

Nazar’s body tensed up and he sat up.

Baros brings both good and bad news with a smile.

He is rotten to his core.

“Good or bad?”

“Of course, bad.”

“Shit--”

“Just kidding.”

Nazar let out a sigh of relief.

“Annual galactic meeting will begin in about a week. And as the ruler of Chochica Empire, you must go.”

“Okay. I promise I will go.”

“If you don’t, I will tell Lian. I am sure she will like--”

“I said I will go.”

Baros looked around the room and made a disgusted face.

He always does this.

And he asked Nazar why he lives like this but Nazar’s reply was something along the lines of “I have no idea.”

“Did you find anything about the dragon? Ikeiss, the Eternal?”

“No.”

“Damn it! 21 years of searching and found nothing. I thought one of the alien empires will have something about him.”

“Unfortunately nothing.”

“I see…”

“I will go now.”

Baros vanished into thin air.

“The dragon… I know what it is. I have so many questions for it.”

Even though the barrier was up, some people could freely come in and out since Nazar had allowed them to do so.

He sighed.

“I went to space. Saved an empire. And it got handed to me when it was on a brink of collapse. Sigh. My fault. And now I have to keep it running. Well, at least it makes my life a little more entertaining.”

He put his phone away.

“I guess I shall go and visit them today.”

He was talking about his family.

He hasn't met them for a long time.

"It's Aria's birthday today, too."

Though he thought it will be a normal life, he was wrong.

He spent a lot of his time searching for the dragon.

After he turned 14, his search became intense. He would go to space regularly. He would also visit other dimensions and such to search for the dragon. He even asked Lucifer and other beings but none of them could give him any information.

During those searches, he found allies and enemies. And also found an empire to rule over. The Chochica Empire.

So, he never really got a chance to be normal. To his family, he was normal. He had normal relationships with them but he himself never felt normal.

He stood up.

“I can just come up with an excuse how I wanted to surprise the-- Oh, so she is finally here.”

He sensed someone entering this dimension.

And so, he teleported out of here.

He appeared on top of a tall building in Switzerland.

On top of that building, Aarin was waiting for him.

“You are late, Aarin,” Nazar said with a smile.

“Sorry.”

She was standing at the side of the roof and was looking down.

Nazar went close and stood next to her.

“Have you found anything about the dragon?”

“Nope. Nothing.”

“That was expected...”

Nazar sat down on the side of the roof and let his feet dangle.

Aarin did the same.

“So, why did you call me here today?”

“I want to change the world.”

Aarin gave him a surprised look but Nazar just smiled.

“I will bring down the barrier today. And you see that asteroid that’s coming towards Earth?”

“Yes.”

“I will take it down. And show the world.”

“So, you want to be a hero now?”

Nazar laughed.

“Oh, no. I have other plans.”

“Hm?”

“Five months from now, ten random people will gain superpowers. Two others will find artefacts. One artefact is magic based and the other is cosmic based.”

Aarin was not sure how she should react to this.

In Nazar’s hand, a white energy ball appeared.

“The people who gain powers will see a floating white energy ball in front of them on May 1st. They are asked a question.”

Nazar looked at Aarin.

“Do you want superpowers?”

Then the energy ball vanished.

“If they accept it, they will be responsible for their actions from now on. If they reject it, then it will find someone else.”

“And what if you give it to back bad people?”

“Bad people, huh?”

Nazar faced the city below him once more.

“So, in this plan, five ‘good’ people and five ‘bad’ people will gain superpowers. And the artefacts… well, whoever finds it first.”

Aarin stared at him.

She couldn’t tell if Nazar was joking or being serious.

“The ‘good’ will fight against the ‘bad’.”

“Why?”

Nazar didn’t reply to her.

“And then I will see how they change the world. And then, of course, there is me. The older ‘hero’. I will place myself on the chess board too.”

Aarin just gave up trying to understand him.

“Also, the powers are going to very basic. Each person will gain one to three powers. Do you want to know which ones I have chosen?”

Aarin just shrugged.

She had given up trying to understand where this conversation was going.

“Subject #1 will get telepathy. Subject #2 will get telekinesis. Subject #3 will get super speed. Subject #4 will get flight with speed. Subject #5 will get invulnerability. Subject #6 will get super strength. Subject #7 will get gravity manipulation.”

Aarin finally reacted.

“Gravity manipulation is not a basic power, you know?”

“It is for me.”

She sighed.

“Subject #8 will get teleportation. Subject #9 will get erasure - they can erase anything. And I mean anything. Subject #10 will get reality warping.”

“I thought you said basic?”

“Well, they are. Anyway, it all comes with a cost. So, it's not all sunshine and rainbows.”

“I see. But I still think its a stupid idea.”

Nazar looked at Aarin.

“Really?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, I have made my mind. I want to see where this goes. It’s going to get interesting from now on.”

“I see. So, why are you telling me this?”

“I just wanted you to know that I making my return.”

Nazar held up his hand towards the sky.

And then the barrier broke apart.

“I want humanity to move beyond its shackles. After the 10 new superhumans, more and more will come out.”

Something changed around the world.

Weird energy covered the whole planet.

“Mutation.”

“Ah?”

“More and more people will gain superpowers. More artefacts will appear. Humanity will need to move beyond this backwater planet and rise to the skies.”

Aarin never expected Nazar to do this.

She knew he hated them but why is he doing this?

“I always hated humans for being weak and pathetic. But now I saw them from a different light.”

“Hm?”

“Looking at them as a god… they have potential. And I want to see how far they can reach on their own. I am just jump-starting their evolution.”

“I see...”

“I will be one of the ‘heroes’. And I will do my best. And to do that, I must reduce my powers significantly.”

Aarin didn't really understand why he would reduce his powers but she didn't really care.

He stood up.

“I haven’t come up with a name or costume… but for now, I will not let anyone see my face.”

The asteroid was now falling towards at an unimaginable speed.

He had increased its speed.

“Being a hero on Earth, studying, running an alien empire, etc.”

He looked down at Aarin and smiled.

“I feel like my life will finally become a little more exciting.”

Nazar started to float a little.

“Let’s see how this life will go.”

He looked up.

“Aarin, you are very important to me and I love you, but don’t try to stop me. Please.”

Nazar and Aarin have a brother and sister like relationship. Aarin used to visit him every week to keep him company when he was young. It was so he wouldn’t feel lonely in this world and be with someone who remembers the other world.

But the frequency of her visits slowed down as Nazar got older because Nazar told her so.

“Honestly, I wasn’t really planning to. It’s your world.”

She stood up.

“And if it makes you feel better… if it will make you live a better life, then go ahead.”

She forced a smile on her face.

“Did you want me to stop you?”

Nazar looked at her.

“...”

“Well, even if you wanted to be stopped, it’s too late now. It’s your world… No, it’s your creation, so do whatever you like.”

“I see...”

“And I think I like your idea. I have lived among humans for thousands of years. I saw them change but it was not enough. And I do agree that they have potential. So...”

“So, we should let them reach their potential.”

Nazar smiled.

“But if you go beyond this… wouldn’t you just be like the Supreme One? Or the Nameless One?”

Nazar’s smile vanished.

“...”

He didn’t have to think too much about it.

“No.”

“Oh?”

“I will give them a choice. The superhumans can reject it. And same with the future generations with powers. If they don’t want it, they can give it away. Pass it onto someone else or just get rid of it. But they will be powerless ever after.”

“I see.”

“I won’t interfere as a god. I will not use my powers to influence anything. I will help them as a ‘hero’ and that’s it.”

A smile appeared on her face and it was not a forced one.

“Well, if you go too far, I will stop you.”

“Okay.”

He looked up once more and went up a little higher.

“Hey Aarin,” he said while flying up slowly.

“What?”

He looked down and smiled.

“After I am done with this, let’s go shopping.”

“....”

Aarin had no idea what he was saying.

“Huh?”

“Well, you always wear the same dress, so I thought you should try out other clothes? I always wondered how you will look in--”

“No,” Aarin said as she frantically waved her hands in front of her. “This is the only thing I have worn.”

“I see...”

Even though Nazar was flying up, they could still hear each other.

Aarin saw the asteroid coming down faster and faster.

But Nazar was rather calm.

“Maybe later. But not today," she said slowly.

Nazar smiled.

“Let’s see how this life will go from now on.”

He increased his speed and flew towards the asteroid.

On this day, humanity will learn a fact.

Superhumans exist.

And then a new era of humanity will begin.
