Arc 91 - Godslayers (Part 2)

Tuesday, 10th of September 2019:

Nazar woke up at 8.30 AM. He just lied down on the bed and tried to search for the energies from the Void. However, he had no luck. And now it is 9 AM.

“Sigh. It’s useless.”

- Master, have you been getting enough sleep? -

“Yes.”

- In the last 4 days, you have only slept for 2 hours and 30 minutes. -

“I know. But I need to find these people. In a way, it is my fault that they are here.”

- Anyway, you wanted me to remind you in 10 hours. It is time, Master. -

“Okay.”

- And Master? -

“Yes?”

- You have not been using my teleportation. Why is that? -

“Nothing. I just thought I should use mine for a while.”

- I see. -

“Joke’s on you, you CAN’T see.”

- I… I don’t understand. -

“I thought it was funny. You know because you don’t have eyes… you know what? Forget I said anything.”

He teleported out and appeared in Laura’s house.

She was sitting at the table and drinking her coffee.

As soon as she saw him, she got up.

“I forgot about it last night, but are you okay? After what happened the other day?”

“Yes.”

“Are you sure? You looked very bad the other day.”

“I was about to die, but then my powers came back and then I was fine.”

“That was very close.”

“Yeah.”

“Anyway, sit down,” she said as she sat down and pointed at the chair opposite her.

Nazar sat on the chair opposite her.

There was a minute of silence.

“So, what did you want to talk about?”

“Don’t worry about that now..”

“So, that’s it? Can I go now?” Nazar said as he stood up.

“Where are you going?”

“...I don’t know. I need to find them before they go on a rampage.”

“Who?”

“I don’t know them. Lucifer said that they released being from the Void, so I am trying to find it. But I have absolutely no luck in it.”

“Maybe you should take a break. Coming from all that deaths and then what happened the other day.”

“I am not tired or anything--”

“I am not saying you are tired or anything. I know you can’t get tired. But have you seen yourself? It seems like you are in mental exhaustion.”

Nazar gave her a confused look.

“Take a look in the mirror. You are pale and seems like you are about to collapse any second. Your eyes are red as well.”

“I… I am fine.”

“Take a seat. Sit down and calm down. And take a break. In the last few months, for you, it has been a crisis after crisis. Can’t you leave these people for later? And until then, you can find some good amount of information on them.”

“That could work...”

“And when was the last time you have eaten anything?”

“Three days?”

“I see. Well, I have some stuff in the fridge I can whip it up for you.”

“No, it’s fine.”

“No, it is not.”

She got up and placed her hands on his face.

“You are not fine. You should take a break from all these things that can hurt you. You might not be feeling the physical pain, but I am sure you are mentally exhausted.”

“Anyway, what is it that you wanted to talk about?”

“We can do that later.”

“No, it’s fine. So, what is it that you wanted to talk about?”

She sat back on the chair.

“I was planning on studying in London.”

“Was?”

“I need your help.”

“Oh?”

“I applied a little too late. Can you help with that?”

“...”

“Please? I don’t want to wait another year.”

“I see. And what do I get in return for committing a crime?” He said with a deadpan expression.

“Since when do you care about crimes?”

“Just kidding. Fine, I will help you. Solace?”

- Give me a minute. -

“Do you want me to fake your--”

“No. Just the entry date.”

“And what if I was not around?”

“Well, I would have given up on this.”

“Why do you want to study at a university anyway?”

She thought about it for a while.

“It was my parents' dream that I would be someone like them. They wanted me to study Neuroscience. I studied for it and was going to apply for university but they died. So, I had to take care of my brother.”

“...”

“And now I want to study it. I mean… I can’t take care of him any longer, so I might as well do this.”

“I see.”

- Done. -

“Thanks.”

- You’re welcome. -

There was a little silence.

“And you should definitely take a break from all this stuff. Just for a month or so.”

“Okay.”

She stood up again.

“Let’s have breakfast together.”

“Um…were you not drinking just now?”

“Well, that was just a coffee.”

“I see.”

Nazar placed his head on the table.

“You good?”

“Yeah.”

After a few minutes, she placed a plate in front of Nazar and one in front of her.

“This...this is just eggs.”

“Yeah? Eggs are tasty.”

“You took so long, so I thought you were making something glorious.”

“It only took 5 minutes.”

“Thanks.”

“You’re welcome.”

They then ate in silence.

After they were done, Nazar waved his hand and the dishes were all clean.

“...”

Laura looked confused and impressed.

“Woah. That was cool. But why?”

“Well, I just wanted to help.”

“I see.”

Nazar then placed all the plates and cups in its rightful place. He did that by using his telekinesis.

“It looks like they are flying.”

Nazar placed his head on the table again.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.”

Nazar raised his head again.

“Anyway, why do you want to study in the UK?”

“Well, I was planning on studying abroad. I can speak a little of French, German and Spanish, but it is not as fluent as my English. So, it will be kinda hard to study when you can’t speak the language properly.”

“I see.”

“And studying in the US will cost much more.”

“Makes sense.”

There was silence once more. A long silence.

“Wait!”

With a sudden noise, Laura looked straight at Nazar.

“Are we really in a r-r-r-r-r-r-r--”

Nazar just got stuck like an old record player.

“Oh my God, just say it properly.”

“Are we really in a r-r-r-r-r-r-r--”

“I will say it. Don’t worry.”

“...”

“Yes, we are. We are in a relationship. We are a couple now,” she said as she winked. “Unless you don’t want.”

“No, it’s not that. It… It just feels weird, you know?”

“What, being around me? Or the whole relationship thing?”

“It’s my first time being in a relationship’. So, it feels a little weird.”

“You can say it properly now?”

Laura sighed.

“And yeah, it does feel a little weird. But that is how relationships begin. A little weird becomes normal.”

“I see.”

“When I was at high school, I had a boyfriend. And at first, it was kind of awkward but then it gets normal. And stop looking so jealous.”

“I am not jealous. Why would I be jealous of your old boyfriend?” Nazar paused before continuing. “I thought you said that this is new to you as well?”

“I thought you would be jealous.”

“But I am not.”

“And about that, I had a boyfriend but it was not as serious as this. We would just walk together and just kissed a few times. It was during the last year of high school, so nothing is serious then.”

“I see.”

(So, what do people in a relationship do?)

Nazar placed his head on the table. Again.

(Let me recall all the animes I have watched and all the mangas I have read.)

After a minute or so, he raised his head.

(That was a mistake.)

“What happened?”

(They don’t even go beyond hand holding. Damn you, anime.)

Laura waved her hand in front of his face.

Nazar finally noticed her hand, he finally snapped back to reality.

“What’s wrong?”

“N-nothing.”

“What were you thinking about?”

“Nothing.”

“Were you planning on doing something weird with me?”

“N-no.”

Laura narrowed her eyes slightly.

“You pervert.”

“I am NOT a pervert. I promise.”

She got up and sat on his lap. She also wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Tell me, what were you thinking?”

Nazar took a deep breath.

“I wanted to know what people in a relationship do. But I found nothing.”

“Hm? And where were you getting those answers from?”

“Uh… from all the anime and manga I have watched and read?”

“And you thought that was going to help you?”

“Yes?”

She sighed.

“So, do you want to know what people do in a relationship?”

“...”

“They go outside to eat, to watch a movie, to go to the beach and...” she paused and winked.

“And?”

“Come on, you know the last part, don’t you?”

Nazar looked at Laura’s phone. He used his technopathy to search something on it.

After a few seconds, he choked on his breathe.

Laura laughed.

“You are so cute when you are blushing.”

“I am not blushing.”

“So, do you want to try that last part first?”

“N-no. I… I need to go somewhere.”

Laura stood up and then Nazar vanished into thin air.

Laura then giggled.

Nazar appeared back at his home.

- Master? Are you okay? Your heart is beating a little too fast. -

“I am fine.”

- Okay, I will take your word for it. -

“I am going to sleep for a month. Bye.”

Nazar lied down on the bed and after a few minutes, he fell asleep.

London, UK:

Ishaya Bradley was at Bradley Conglomerates HQ. He was with the man from Pentagon, he met yesterday.

Less than 10 hours ago, they were in New York City but the Bradley Conglomerates developed a supersonic plane two years ago. It was developed for the military but Ishaya uses one to get across the world. In this plane, he can turn a 10-hour flight into a 2-hour flight.

“James, thanks.”

“As long as we kill that bastard, it will be over.”

“Did you not watch the video?”

“I did.”

“Then you know that he cannot die. I just need enough data about his power. Then I will look for another way. As he cannot be killed, I will find another way to get rid of him.”

“I see.”

The man named James stood up.

“Where is the test site?”

“We have chosen the middle of the city. It is Tuesday, so there shouldn’t be a lot of people. Plus, we would like to make it look like a terrorist attack.”

“And what about me?”

“You are forbidden from getting close to the site. You are to stay hidden and keep yourself out of this. It is for your own good.”

“Have they tried on the power suits?”

“Yes. They are very well trained. They got used it within an hour.”

“Interesting.”

The man was about to leave.

“And when does it start?”

“At 12.15.”

“And is there no way for me to watch how this goes down? It will give me more data.”

“... I will talk to my superiors.”

“Thank you.”

The man left the room and Ishaya was alone.
