Arc 87 - Rapture (Part 6)

Norse God, a being with the powers of different Gods from Norse Mythology, vs the Goddess of Knowledge, one of the Omega People.

The sky above London became cloudy. Massive thunders roared across the sky and shot towards the Goddess of Knowledge.

However, something else happened. Eddie’s lightning was ineffective.

Her hand turned into energy and she punched Eddie in the chest. His rib was broken but it healed almost instantly.

While he was healing, he shot himself towards the Goddess and clenched his fist. He punched her in the face, but she did not do anything but smiled.

“You are not a God.”

She turned into energy and started beating the crap out of Eddie. She punched and kick him so fast that he could not really react.

“Focus on healing this idiot.”

- Okay, Master. -

Solace started healing Jake.

At that moment, Eddie was slammed into the ground. It was very close to Nazar.

“I actually had high hopes for that guy.” She said in a mocking tone. “He called himself a God.”

“I am not done yet,” Eddie said as he tried standing up.

Nazar placed his hand on him should and walked past him.

“So, without thunder, you can’t do anything, can you?”

Eddie’s eyes opened wide.

“You could have focused on your speed and it would have done better. But to be honest, I am not sure we can do anything against her. You can go back--”

“No. I can take her on.”

(No armour.)

Nazar stood below where the Goddess was floating.

(No powers.)

Nazar’s powers are recharging. However, his current power levels are very low. If he uses, even a little of his power, he would need to start over.

He looked up to her.

(Nothing. I guess this is the end.)

“So, do what you want. Kill me.”

She laughed.

“I did not think you would give in this easily.”

She flew towards Nazar at full speed, but Eddie intercepted her.

Nazar actually looked confused.

Eddie flew out with her. He went up and up and up until within seconds they were outside of Earth’s orbit.

Eddie punched her over and over again. But that was not all. He was also using his energy based powers to keep the pressure on her.

Once they were high enough, Eddie immediately took 180 degrees turn. They were now coming towards Earth at an unimaginable speed.

However, something else happened. When Eddie was punching her over and over again, she managed to use that to her advantage. She took control of the flight and was now falling towards London like a meteor.

If both Eddie and the Goddess hit London with their current speed, most of the central parts of the city can be vaporised.

When Solace noticed something, she immediately told Nazar.

- They are going to hit the city any second. I don’t think Norse God is in control. -

“Damn it,” Nazar muttered.

Jake was fully recovered now.

“Jake, create the biggest shield you can above the city. And try to block them.” Nazar thought for a second. “Actually, don’t try to block them. Try to redirect them right here or somewhere close.”

Jake looked confused but he did as Nazar said.

He focused all of the psychic energies and gave it a ‘physical’ form. A massive shield appeared above the city.

“Solace, find where they will land exactly and create a barrier around that place. Just leave enough space so they can come through it, but close it fully as soon as they are within it.”

- Okay, Master. -

Eddie and the Goddess were now flying towards the city at full speed. Eddie had lost control of the situation.

Of course, the Goddess wanted to use that opportunity to try and kill Nazar.

They reached Jake’s barrier and easily broke through it. However, Jake used that short opportunity to redirect them to where Nazar was standing.

- They land right where you are. So, you should move, Master. -

“Okay,” he said as he jumped back. He was now standing on top of the double-decker bus.

An invisible barrier was created when Solace figured out where they will land.

Once they landed, the barrier contained all the damage within it. However, it broke at the last second. But most of the area was undamaged.

Eddie was now unconscious and the Goddess of Knowledge became ‘human’ once more.

She sighed.

“What an idiot.”

She then flew towards Nazar. She picked him by the neck and then slammed him onto the ground.

She then ripped off his right arm. However, Nazar did not even bother screaming, because he was not feeling any pain.

He looked at his ripped arm and then looked at himself.

(That was my arm?)

She then ripped his other arm and threw it away.

“Listen here, humans,” she shouted.

Everyone in the surrounding areas stared at her in horror.

“I am one of the Gods of this universe. I am one of the Omega People.”

People gave her confused looks as well.

“But this human...”

She held Nazar by his neck.

“...he is messing with our powers. We cannot be Gods to you, as long as he is alive.”

“What?”

“What is she talking about?”

“God?”

“Seriously?”

The chatter between the bystanders went on for a little while.

Just about a hundred meters away, the barrier around the cafe was removed. Solace tried to heal Nazar, so the barrier fell down.

They all went outside.

“It is true, he is very powerful, but what has he done for you people? Nothing,” the Goddess said with a smile on her face.

(...)

Nazar was losing a lot of blood. He could not breathe properly either. So, his mind went completely blank.

“You people fear him.”

Eddie finally woke up again.

She clenched her fist.

“So, as a benevolent Goddess, I shall exterminate this evil. So, I will kill him.”

Eddie stood up.

She swung her fist and shot it towards Nazar.

“Say your prayers, human.”

She smiled.

Eddie flew towards her as fast as he could.

Her fist was about to reach Nazar, but she stopped at the last second. It was because she heard something.

“STOP!”

The Goddess turned around and saw Emma.

“Hm? Who are you?”

“Stop what you are doing,” Emma said.

Eddie was about to approach the Goddess, but she shot him with an energy blast. He was thrown to the other side of the city.

“And who are you?”

“I am his sister.”

The Goddess turned around to look Nazar in the eyes.

In front of Nazar, the Nameless One (?) appeared. And he smiled.

“Your sister could die,” he whispered to Nazar.

“Human relationships, huh? Never expected that from you.”

“Stop what you are doing,” Emma said.

The Goddess turned around to face Emma again.

“He is evil and I am a Goddess. I shall exterminate evil.”

“Exterminate evil? Where were you when the demon was ruling the Earth?”

“You could have saved her. By killing everything,” He laughed as he said that.

No one could see or hear the Nameless One beside Nazar.

“Because we did not want to. But now we want to do it.”

Emma gave her a confused look.

The Goddess let go of Nazar and he fell to the ground.

“This is going to be so fun. Maybe I should have started with killing your sister,” he said to Nazar while streams of blood was leaving his mouth.

(No...) Nazar thought.

She walked towards Emma.

“You could have been a God, abomination.”

(I wish I had my full power.)

“So, you, a mere human, wants to stop me from exterminating evil, right?”

“But you chose humanity. And now you can’t even save your sister. I am disappointed, abomination.”

(Please don’t hurt her.)

Emma started to feel a little scared.

Nazar tried to stand up but failed.

“Y-yes.”

The Goddess laughed.

“This is going to fun. Don’t you think, abomination?”

(Please. I wish I had my full power.)

“You humans are weird.”

Nazar’s vision flickered.

The Goddess held Emma by her neck.

“Sigh. You really are worthless. I had high hopes for you, abomination.”

(No. Please don’t hurt her.)

She clenched her fist.

“Someone wants to keep the evil safe is also evil.”

“What will you do, abomination?”

(Recharge, damn it.)

The Goddess narrowed her eyes.

She swung her fist but it never reached Emma.

The reason was simple. In that instant, Nazar’s powers returned. He was fully healed. He shot himself towards the Goddess of Knowledge. He caught her fist just a before it reached Emma.

Nazar did all of this without thinking.

He just looked at the Goddess and back slapped her. She was thrown to the other side of the city.

Nazar looked at himself and his mind went completely blank for a second.

(Just… Just what am I?)

He placed his hands on Emma’s shoulders and started shaking her.

(I could have recovered to full power whenever I wanted. Just… Just what is it that I cannot do?)

“Phew. That was scary,” Emma sounded a little relieved.

(Why did I not try it earlier?)

“WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!”

“Because I thought you were going to die again.”

“Thanks for that… but you should never do that again.”

At that moment, everyone heard a sonic boom. The Goddess was coming back and she was bringing her wrath with her.

“WHAT HAPPENED?” She shouted on top of her lungs. “YOU WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE YOUR POWERS?”

Nazar let go of Emma.

He waved his hand and a massive barrier appeared around the Goddess and Nazar. It only covered these two.

“I don’t know...”

The barrier reduces her powers heavily.

He shot himself towards her at the speed of sound.

They both clashed and as they did, the whole city could have been vaporised, but the barrier held all the impact in one place. So, instead, the road and close by vehicles and properties were destroyed.

When they clashed, there was also a deafening sound.

Nazar punched the Goddess in the face and for the first time in her life, she bled.

She touched her nose and looked at her bloodied hand. And once she saw it, she looked beyond confused.

“Wh-what?! H-How?”

Massive balls of energies appeared around the Goddess and it all fired onto her at the same time. She was too focused on her blood that she barely noticed the incoming attacks.

Beams of energy shot her and a massive hole appeared in her upper torso.

She managed to recover but she was beyond confused.

“My AI cannot do the same things I can do. She cannot block all of your powers as I can do.”

Nazar punched her in the face.

“And you said you are benevolent, right?”

He then held the Goddess by her neck and slammed her onto the ground.

“Where was your benevolence when the world was being ruled by a demon?”

Nazar landed on top of her. Everything within the barrier was destroyed. The barrier was about 50 meters wide, so all vehicles were completely destroyed.

A massive beam of energy shot from her back and it hit Nazar in the face. However, he just absorbed the energy.

“You are so fucking annoying.”

He held her by the back of her head.

“Couldn’t you just wait for a few days?”

He slammed her head into the ground.

“Couldn’t you wait until I had recovered?”

He then slammed her again.

“And you talk about benevolence?”

She picked up by the back of her head.

“Where was your benevolence when a demon sent three empires against one another?”

He kicked her in the face.

“Where was your benevolence when the universe was about to be destroyed?”

She bounced back and forth inside the barrier.

“Where was your benevolence when I was dying over and over again?”

Nazar started to get angry.

“Where were you when the Nameless One wanted to destroy everything?!”

Nazar punched her in the chest and a massive hole appeared in it. However, as she is a being made of energy, the hold did not really do anything to her.

“Where were you when I died for thousands of times over?”

He picked her up by her neck.

“Where were you when the whole of existence was in trouble?”

Of course, she did not know about it. And it was partially Nazar’s fault for what happened with the Nameless One. But he is telling her this for no reason. Maybe he wants her to realise that she is not a God.

“Why did I save everything, just to come to this so you can kill me? Why? What have I done to you?”

He placed pressure on her neck.

“Just because I mess with your powers? You are not a God. You can never be one. If you were, you would have helped me save everything. You would have been the one to save everything.”

Everyone watched him from the side.

“Why should I be the one saving the universe and all of existence? Why can’t you, the ‘Gods’, do it?”

What Nazar or no one else noticed was that a few people were recording this whole confrontation.

“Why should a human save everything, when the Gods only care about their power?”

He slammed her into the ground.

“TELL ME!” Nazar shouted.

- Master, calm down-- -

There was a small crater inside the barrier now. And Nazar was floating in it. People could only see his upper torso.

“TELL ME SOMETHING. WHAT KIND OF GODS LEAVE THEIR PEOPLE BEHIND?”

- Master, you are going into emotional outburst again. -

“WHAT KIND OF GODDESS ARE YOU? DO YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT POWER? LIKE EVERY OTHER GOD?”

Nazar’s body started to radiate.

- I… I can’t shut your brains, Master. Please control your emotions. -

“Just… Just what are you?” The Goddess finally spoke.

Nazar’s body turned into energy.

- He is going to blow up. -

Solace was talking to Emma, so no one could really hear her.

Emma started to run. As the distance between them was short, she reached there very quickly.

(What…? What am I doing?)

Nazar looked at his own body.

(Oh, no.)

At that moment, Emma placed her hand on his shoulder.

“Calm down,” she said slowly.

(Emma…?)

“She is gone now. So, you should calm down.”

Nazar’s body turned to normal.

“...Sorry,” Nazar said slowly.

He then picked up the Goddess.

“Go back to your planet… or wherever you are from. If you ever return, I will not show you mercy. You are a powerful being, so I don’t need to hold back against you.”

“O-okay,” the Goddess said slowly.

And then she vanished into thin air.

As soon as she vanished, someone else appeared out of thin air.

It was Omegan. The leader of Omega People. The God among Gods.
