Arc 81 - The Nameless One (Part 8)
Thursday, the 5th of September 2019 - Earth:
Both Aarin and Nazar appeared in Nazar’s house.
While they were coming here, they made a stop somewhere else. Nazar wanted to make sure that Lucifer did as he said. And so he told Aarin about what happened.
As soon as Nazar appeared, he laid down on the bed.
“So, you need anything else?” Aarin said.
“No. And thanks,” Nazar said immediately.
“You’re welcome. And now you owe me.”
“How much do you want?”
“We don’t repay with money, remember?”
Nazar sighed.
“But thank you. I am serious.”
“You’re welcome. And don’t worry, you don’t owe me anything.”
Nazar just smiled.
“I wonder where everyone is.”
- They in the next room. -
“Solace, I missed you so much.”
- … -
“Anyway, return my memories to me.”
- Okay. -
After a few seconds, Nazar finally looked happy.
“Ah. It’s good to know what happened.”
“So, you really lose all of your memories when you die?”
“Yes.”
Nazar stood up.
“Is that food I smell?”
- Yes, Master. -
Emma entered the room.
“Nazar? You are back?”
“Yes-- can you stop hugging me so tight? I feel like I will die.”
“Oh, sorry.”
“So, what’s for dinner?”
“Steak, roasted chicken… and some fried chicken.”
“Hm?”
“We have guests.”
Emma started to walk out of the door.
“Oh, shit!”
“It’s Oliver, Mikasa and Jake.”
“Ah?”
“Just come in. And you too… angel?”
Aarin laughed.
“Just call me, Aarin.”
“Ah. Aarin, come in.”
“No, I need to go back. Staying here will cause some problems for the universe.”
Emma looked back in confusion.
“Angels cannot stay in this universe. We basically change the laws of the universe if we stay here for too long.”
Emma just raised her eyebrows.
“Maybe some other time,” Aarin said.
“When I change the laws of the universe, that is.”
“Don’t you dare do that again.”
“Okay, angel-sama.”
Aarin hugged Nazar and then vanished into thin air.
“Okay, come in. We are not finished yet.”
“It… will be kind of awkward. You know with the...”
“Oh, I am not sure if you wanted them to know or not, but I told them about it. I know how you hate those kinds of things, so I made it easier.”
“Impressive. And thank you.”
“And I did not tell them about your ‘you know what’.”
“About where I was?”
“Yes.”
“Thank you.”
Nazar took a deep breath and entered the dining room.
They were all sitting down and eating food.
“Hi, Nazar.”
“Hi,” Nazar replied awkwardly.
(This… this is a bit of a crowd.)
Nazar slowly started to walk towards the table.
“What? Your anxiety is kicking back again?” Emma whispered to him.
“Wait, how do you know about that?”
“I knew that for a while now. Emily told me a long time ago.”
“I see...”
Nazar sat at the table.
“So, where have you been?” Jake asked.
“Another...”
Nazar hesitated to reply.
“Another universe.”
“Damn. What kind of place was it?”
“Uh… it was weird. Like some weird stuff happened that you would not want to know. Weird things that even I don’t want to know about.”
Emma brought an empty plate for Nazar.
“Thanks,” Nazar said to Emma.

He placed some fried chicken on his plate.
“Can you eat something other than chicken? For once?”
“Laura made me eat steak a few weeks ago. And no, I will not eat anything besides fried chicken today. It has been… what’s the date today?”
“5th of September.”
“It’s been about a month since I had any chicken.”
Nazar took a bite of the fried chicken.
Emma put some steak in his plate and some roasted chicken.
Nazar sighed.
“Fine.”
Emma smiled.
“So, what happened when I was gone?”
“Nothing,” Emma replied immediately.
“Really?” Nazar looked surprised.
“Kind of.”
“Damm. Why does trouble show up when I am around?”
“Actually, there were a few aliens who came here once. The ones that helped you in Italy,” Jake said.
“Ah. I told them to come here and keep Earth safe.”
“...”
“I needed to make sure that there is no invasion or anything like that. Earth is a little too popular on the other sides of the universe.”
“Really?”
“You won’t believe how popular Earth is.”
They talked while ate.
After a few hours later, they left.
Nazar laid down on the sofa.
“Why are you so awkward?” Emma asked.
“Me?”
“Yes, you.”
“Well… I have to think about my answers. Don’t want to ruin the moment with my answers.”
“By telling lies?”
“Pretty much. I mean, it will be a little weird if I told them that the Earth is created by Lucifer and it was a war zone.”
“I see.”
Nazar yawned.
“I really need to go to sleep. It’s been a month.”
“Go ahead.”
Nazar got up slowly. He felt a little at pain when he was trying to stand up.
“What’s wrong?”
“It will take a long time to get back my full powers. According to my calculations… about 3 weeks.”
“Do you want to talk about it?”
“You are free tomorrow, right?”
“No. College started this week.”
“Weekend?”
“Yes.”
“We will talk then. It’s a long story.”
“Okay.”
Nazar looked back.
“And if you are going to college, shouldn’t you be sleeping already?”
“It’s only 10 PM. Who sleeps at 10?”
“Good night.”
“Good night.”
Nazar went to his room. It took him about 10 minutes to fall asleep.
New York:
At the Bradley Conglomerates New York headquarters, Ishaya Bradley sits behind a desk on the top floor of the building. He is sitting on a leather chair and looking at his screen. It is not a normal screen. It is a holographic screen.
His assistant hurriedly entered the room.
“Sir, he is back,” the assistant said as soon as she entered the room.
“Who?” Ishaya said as he picked up a cigar.
“Nazar is back. We just registered his energy signature… but it is very, very weak.”
Ishaya’s expression became more serious.
“What do you mean weak?”
“It is just a little stronger than a normal human but weaker than his previous energy signature.”
“Lost of power, perhaps?”
The assistant swiped her screen and what she was seeing appeared on Ishaya’s screen.
“Would you like to go through the data again?”
“Yes, I will do that.”
“Before I forget sir, you have a meeting with the Pentagon later this evening.”
“Cancel that.”
“What?”
“This is far more interesting than that.”
“But we will lose the contract to--”

“I don’t care if we do. It’s only weapons contract. No big deal, right?”
“Sir, its a billion dollar contract.”
Ishaya took some time to think.
“Billion dollar contract, huh?”
“If we lose this, we might even lose future contracts with the Pentagon.”
“...”
“And this is easily the biggest contract we have had in this year.”
“Don’t cancel it, then. I need to deal with this idiot some other time.”
The assistant was about to leave.
“Just… Actually, I want the team to write a new contract for the Pentagon.”
The assistant turned around with a confused look on her face.
“Hm?”
“Write another contract. A contract about Nazar.”
“I… I don’t understand, sir.”
“It’s a contract about how we can track all of his movements, find ways to neutralise him and things like that.”
“I… I am not sure it's going to work.”
“In a way, I agree. But we need to add more stuff to it. Things that can attract their attention.”
“I will let them know.”
She opened the door.
“And… Get me Ms Fox, will you?”
“Okay, sir.”
She left and someone else entered after about 10 minutes later.
“Ms Fox, good to see you again,” Ishaya said when he saw her enter the room.
“You too, sir.”
“Sit, please,” he pointed to an armchair next to his desk.
She sat down.
“What is it, sir?”
“Do you know that he is back, right?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Okay, that’s good.”
Ishaya stood up.
“Should we tell the Pentagon about him now or should we create a separate contract for anything related to Nazar?”
Ishaya was now looking out the window.
She thought for a minute.
“I think a separate contract for that would be financially beneficial.”
“I see.”
“And having a different contract specifically made for that idiot can allow us to develop things much better. And it would allow us to develop weapons that are not legal at the moment.”
“So, will you guys be able to make a contract by the evening?”
“I think it will be better if we wait a while. Until we add to make sure to cover everything for a contract.”
“I hate that bastard so much. I can’t wait until the contract is done. Thank you, Ms Fox.”
She stood up.
“We will start working on that contract.”
She left the room.
Ishaya was left alone and he kept looking at the scene beneath him.
“Codename: Demon Lord, welcome back. We will have a fun reunion, won’t we?”
6th dimensional plane of existence:
The God of Power returned to his own dimension. He had the residual energies of the Nameless One.
He handed the energy prison to the leader of the gods.
“What will you do with it?”
“He might become useful to us one day.”
The leader of Gods went away with the energy prison that was holding the Nameless One. The God of Power was left alone.
She went in and entered a place that looked like a temple. No one ever really entered that place beside her.
She placed the energy barrier next to some other artefacts.
Her hand was turned into energy and she touched the artefact.
She moved away a little and smiled at the artefact.
“I hope you can be of use to me.”
A small figure appeared in that energy barrier. He was the Nameless One.
“I saved you. Now you owe me.”
The figure touched the wall of the barrier.
“And you cannot escape unless I want you to escape.”
The small version of Nameless One gave her a blank look.
“So, I will be using you when needed.”
She turned around and started walking towards the door.
She stopped and looked back.
“The human is very interesting. I will need you for him too.”
She left the temple-like place and closed the door of it. The door can only open to her.
She left the place, which was far, far away from everyone else.
She came back her people and they started smiling once again.
The centre of the universe:
Planet Omega:
This planet is full of beings who are extremely powerful. The planet is ruled by Omegan. He is the king. It’s ruler and a god among gods.
The whole planet is invisible to everyone in this universe. It does not exist in this universe, yet it does. It is a mystery and only a select few know about it.
They are powerful beings. With control over all forms of energies, magic, dimensional travel, time travel and space travel.
That is not all, they possess many other powers. Powers that will put beings like the Reaper at shame.
When Iket unleashed his artificial angel, Omegan was planning on just sending one person to take care of it.
They are the Omega People. They are… Gods. Gods of the 3rd-dimensional planet of existence. Beings who are far above others. Beings who hear the prayer of others and answer them. They can hear a child praying on the other side of the universe when they are millions of light years away.
Today, everyone has gathered in one place. They are shouting one thing.
“Omegan!”
“Omegan!”
“Omegan!”
He is their ruler. A god among gods.
Omegan raises his right hand and everyone becomes silent.
“We are the Omega People. We are the Gods of this universe. Some time ago, our who universe was shaken to its core. And it came from Earth but it vanished immediately.”
His people just listened to him.
“We have always avoided Earth at all costs. We maybe Gods, but Lucifer is above everyone else. So, today we put that fear away. I want one of you to volunteer to go to Earth. Go to Earth and investigate it.”
Thousands of them raised their hands.
“You will go there. You will only observe. We could do it before, but there is a being there. It is messing with our power.”
There used to be a barrier around Earth, so they thought it was okay. However, since the barrier has been destroyed, their powers are not really working on Earth. So, when Nazar left about a month ago, their powers started working properly on Earth. But when Nazar returned not long ago, their powers are not working on Earth properly either.
Omegan raised his hand and formed a fist.
“We are the Omega People. We are the Gods of this universe. We need that status back.”
“Omegan!”
“Omegan!”
“Omegan!”
They shouted again and again.
Omegan pointed to the crowd. He raised his index finger and someone raised up. It was a Goddess with no real face or shape.
The Goddess came close to her God. He touched her forehead and she had a physical body.
She now had black hair, brown eyes, and brown skin.
“You will be going to Earth to investigate, Goddes of Knowledge.”
The Goddes nodded and vanished into thin air.

You'll see a few similarities here between this story and some existing stories, at least initially. There's a lot of inspiration drawn from both MoL and Re:Zero, though in terms of pathos and darkness, this story leans more towards the latter. Be warned, it is something of a slow burn. The main character will grow and become powerful, but a theme of this story is that power comes slowly and often at great cost. Oh, I also forgot to mention that I have taken inspiration from waaaay tooo many novels that I liked, and while there aren't any specific ones that I based this upon there are a few that I definitely took inspiration from like : the author's POV, chronicles of the heavenly demon [you can probably see where this inspired me ;)], etc.
