Arc 74 - The Nameless One (Part 1)
Nazar stood up, however, what does it mean to stand up in a place that has no ground? What does standing up means in a place where it has nothing? No matter. No light. No sound. Nothing. Absolute darkness.
That is…
That is until a God spoke to him.
“My sweet, sweet little abomination,” the Nameless One’s voice reached Nazar.
Nazar moved his mouth, but no voice came out. This is exactly like the void.
Nazar looked around and finally saw a little light.
“I wonder why you don’t fear me,” the Nameless One said.
Nazar kept quite. He knew it will be pointless to speak in a world where there is no sound.
“You can speak now. I made some changes now.”
“I removed my emotions completely. I am back to how I was.”
“I see.”
“And why do you look like me?”
“Or rather, why do YOU look like me?”
Nazar did not say anything after that. He kept quiet, but the Nameless One continued anyway.
“On Earth, they say that God created man in his own image. So, this is why you look like me.”
Nazar tried to trace his voice but it was not coming from a single direction. It was coming from above, below, ride side, left side, from everywhere at once. And there was no echo, either.
“What happened there? What happened to my sister and everyone else?” Nazar shouted on the top of his lungs.
“I destroyed the multiverse.”
Nazar just laughed.
“Seriously? If you could that, then what do you need me for?”
“...”
There was no answer from his God.
“What do you need me for?”
“To destroy everything.”
“Good luck with that.”
“But I can’t do that without you.”
“Meh. You just destroyed the only thing I cared about. So, you can just fuck off.”
“That was not a request.”
The Nameless One appeared before him.
All of a sudden, the dark place had a small light. There was light around the Nameless One.
The Nameless One touched him and Nazar was powerless.
After the Nameless One removes his hand from Nazar’s chest, he looked like he had the best meal of his life. And Nazar? He just fell to the ground (?).
The Nameless One then slammed his foot into Nazar’s upper torso and he was dead.
Less than a second later, Nazar was alive again.
“I will keep doing this until I have enough power.”
He crouched down and touched him again and took his power. He then slammed his foot into Nazar’s head and it splattered across the place.
However, as there was no ground, the blood was just floating.
Nazar revived once more.
After doing this for a few hundred time, the Nameless One stood up.
“Tch. This is getting boring. You are concealing most of your energies. I need more and I know exactly how to get it out of you.”
A brief smile appeared on the Nameless One’s face.
He waved his hand and a familiar figure appeared. It was Emily.
“What? Wh-where am I?” Emily sounded confused.
She touched her body and became even more confused.
“I thought I was dead.”
“Yes, I killed you. But I also brought you back, just to torment this idiot here.”
“N-Nazar?”
The Nameless picked up Nazar using telekinesis.
“I am the Nameless One, my precious creation.”
Emily had no idea what was going on. And neither did Nazar.

“I resurrected you. Be happy that you two will say goodbyes to one another. And I… I will enjoy the show.”
The Nameless One disappeared into nothingness.
There was darkness once more.
In Nazar’s hand, a small ball of light appeared.
The light soon covered the surrounding area around Nazar.
(Illusion?) Nazar thought.
“So, where am I?” Emily asked.
“Everything is dead. And this… this is the only that is left.”
“What?”
“I don’t even know what happened. It all happened too fast.”
Neither Nazar nor Emily understood anything.
“So, are you an illusion?”
“He said I was resurrected.”
“Hm. How did you die?”
Emily thought for a minute.
“It was a small child who touched me and then I was gone.”
“I see.”
There was silence once more. To Emily, it seemed very awkward, but to Nazar, it was no big deal.
“So, what are you going to do?”
“About?”
“This situation you are in.”
“Nothing.”
Nazar just sat down. There was no ground, so he was basically levitating.
“What do you mean nothing?”
“Everything is dead. What do you want me to do?”
Emily walked closer to him.
“You know, when I saw that day, right before my death, I thought you have changed. But I was wrong. No matter how long you are away or no matter what you do, you will always be the same selfish bastard. I don’t even know why I… we wasted so much time on you.”
“So, that is my fault now?”
“...?”
“Is it my fault that you wasted your life on me?”
Nazar stood up.
“Is it my fault that you kept being friends with me when I specifically told you to get lost?”
Nazar raised his voice.
“Is it my fault that you wouldn’t stay away?”
Nazar walked closer to her. Emily quickly took a step back.
“Is it my fault that you wasted your time on me?”
Emily did not say anything.
“What did you see in me? I pushed you away and you tried to get closer. Is that my fault?”
Emily took another step back.
“Is it my fault that you are dead--”
Nazar trailed off.
He calmed down a little and took a step back.
“Ah. You are right. It is my fault. Everything that happened is my fault. If I had not existed, you would have never died. If I had not existed, Emma would have not been in this hole. If I had not existed, I wouldn’t have ruined Laura’s life even more. If I had not existed, Alice would have been alive. If I had not exist--”
Emily slapped him on the face. Her hand did not break at all.
“Do you really think if you had not existed, everything would have been perfect? If you had not existed, none of this would have happened?”
“Yes.”
“Are you stupid?”
“...”
“I don't know what you went through... but if you had not existed, the world would have been fucked over a few times. If you had not existed--”
“Shut up!”
Nazar turned his back to her.
“Just shut up!”
Nazar held his index finger to his right temple. A massive beam of light shot through his brain.
Emily looked horrified.
However, Nazar did not even die. He just looked at her as his brain was regenerating.
“...”
Emily moved her lips but no words came out.
“Look at me. I can’t even die when everything else just vanished into thin air. This is my existence.”

“You brought this upon yourself.”
Nazar ripped open his shirt and his scars were back.
“Exactly! I brought this upon myself. I was born an abomination.”
Emily touched the scars and asked the obvious question.
“How did you get them?”
Nazar touched the scar on top of his heart.
“They showed me my beating heart.”
He then touched the scar on his right chest.
“They stabbed in my chest to see how long it will take me to heal myself.”
He then touched the scar in his right side.
“They took out my organs to see how long it will take for me to recreate new ones.”
He then touched his head.
“You can’t see this one, but they broke my skull. Just to see the inside of my head. And then they took out my brain to study me. I had an artificial brain that worked as normal brain until a few months ago when I first learned how to recreate organs.”
Emily just listened.
Nazar’s clothes appeared once more.
“So, yes, you are right, it is my fault for existing. It is my fault that everything has happened. To me, to you, to Emma, to Laura, to Alice, to the whole world, and to the rest of the universe.”
Nazar took a deep breath.
Nazar then sighed.
Emily went close to him.
“I am sorry. I didn’t mean--”
“Yes, you meant it. You always wanted to say to that to me, didn’t you? I knew that from the moment I got my powers. Telepathy was one of the first powers I had.”
Emily lowered her gaze.
“Look, I am sorry about your death and wasting your life. But at the end of the day, most of it was your fault. I told you to go away, but you said otherwise. That was your decision. That was your mistake.”
“I know… I just...”
“Just wanted to blame someone else for your own problems? I did the same and still do.”
They just stood there in silence for a few minutes.
“So, who is this Laura that you keep mentioning?”
Emily folded her arms.
“Somebody who is dead now.”
“Are you… are you not sad about her death?”
“I removed my emotions before meeting the Nameless One. So, of course, I wouldn’t really feel anything.”
“So, who is she really to you?”
Nazar looked at her in confusion.
“You never really talk about anyone else, so I thought she might be your girlfriend.”
“I guess I kind of like her.”
“You liked her, huh? I did not see that coming.”
“Yes. I think I might even love her.”
Nazar then laughed slowly.
“Just kidding.”
There was silence once more.
“Do you know who you really are?”
“Huh?”
“We are both beings created by the Nameless One. He created us as his weapons. Every Nazar across the multiverse powers him up once they are activated. However, I was an abomination. I was activated from the moment of my creation. And so you died as part of an experiment.”
“...”
“I tried to bring you back but I couldn’t. I am sorry.”
“So, who is really this… ‘Nameless One’?”
“He is the second being to ever exist. And he wants to destroy everything. And he our creator.”
Emily raised her eyebrows.
“And the only way he can do this if I give him everything I have.”
“Are you going to give it to him?”
“No. I might be a piece of shit, but I will not allow that bastard to have the last win. I am going to defeat him. For myself and you. And for all of across the multiverse.”
“I see...”
Emily stretched her arms.
“There is this message… or command that is telling me to kill you?”
Nazar looked surprised.
(Interesting.)
“You just have to kill me.”
Emily looked shocked.
“But… But I don’t want to.”
Nazar smiled, but it had no meaning behind it. It was a blank smile.
“I am sure you wanted to kill me at least once. If you didn’t want to, then why did a knife appeared in your hand?”
Emily looked down at her hand and she found a knife there.
“It’s… I don’t….”
“I have brought you back to achieve your deepest desires. The desires I placed within you.”
A voice came from all directions.
Emily looked around in confusion but she did not see anyone.
“It’s okay. I can’t die, remember?”
“...”
“Before you kill me, I want to tell you something. Something I wanted to tell you but you died.”
Emily looked at him. She looked surprised.
“Thank you. I am truly grateful for your friendship.”
“I am glad I could help you.”
“But you really were annoying.”
Both of them laughed.
They hugged each other.
“You looked different when I saw a few days ago, but now you are back to the way you used to be. Why?”
“Well, I died like thousands of times over and Aarin returned my emotions to me. So, that’s why.”
“Seriously? You died that many times?” Emily sounded surprised.
“Yeah. And it was bad.”
“No shit Sherlock.”
“Let’s just say...”
“Hm?”
“If I could bring you back from the dead, would you like to be resurrected?”
“No. Death should be the end of us humans. There should be no resurrections.”
“I see.”
They stopped hugging.
“I hate to admit this, but I like this you more than the other one.”
“The other one?”
“The one who showed up before my death. The one that had emotions.”
“...?”
Nazar looked confused. And Emily smiled.
“I wanted to help become like how you are now. Feeling emotions and everything, but I also hated how it was not me who made you like that.”
“Wow. So much for being my friend.”
They both laughed. It was a meaningless laugh. There was nothing funny but they did. For old times sake.
Emily then looked at the knife in her hand.
“So, I just have to stab you?”
Nazar nodded.
“I guess we should get done with it. There is no need to waste any more time.”
“Okay. But where do you want to get stabbed?”
“It should be more effective if you do it in the heart.”
“I am sorry about this.”
Emily stabbed Nazar in the heart and his world became dark once more.
Once he opened his eyes again, the only thing he saw was his own face… or the face of his god.
His god touched him and he was powerless once more.
“I thought she would break you emotionally, but it seems that you are truly emotionless.”
“Tch. You are annoying.”
“I have more interesting trials waiting for you. If you are not broken by the next 2 trials then I will have to try something else.”
“Why don’t we just skip that part? You can’t break me.”
The Nameless One shrugged.
“Well, if it does not work, it does not matter. At least I will have some entertainment.”
The Nameless One vanished and Nazar found himself alone in this darkness once more.
He walked in a random direction.
