Arc 55 - Double Trouble

A few minutes ago, Vince, Italy:

Nazar and Lian were still walking through the city. They were trying to get the attention of as much as people possible. They wanted these people to upload these pictures online, so Bloodlust will think that Nazar is away on a personal business.

Nazar doubts this plan will even last an hour.

“This is such as pretty dress. Can you buy it for me?”

“I… Can you not get by yourself?”

“I don’t have this world’s currency.”

“Then ‘use’ your body, for all care.”

“Oh my God, how can tell your date to pay for her own stuff… and with her body? How shameful!”

Nazar has had enough. He was about to snap any second and attack all of Death 100 by himself and get killed and enter the void until everything is fixed.

“Oh, a swimsuit. I really want to buy it.”

“You are ruining my image. It’s already bad enough.”

“Hmm… what if I told everyone you asked me to pay with my body?”

“Ugh… I hate aliens. You know, fuck this mission. I am going to go and fight Death 100 or whatever they are called. I am going to get killed and go to the void. I am never going to return.”

Nazar and Lian were walking in a clothing store.

Nazar had no idea where they were. If he had paid attention, he would have noticed that he was in swimsuits area.

“Oh, this one looks good.”

“Gah?! How did we get here?”

“Okay, how about this one?”

“Do… What is the point of this swimsuit? What not just go to the beach naked?”

“Well, you just said that it is illegal?”

Nazar looked around and found everyone staring at him. He is one of those people who hates getting any attention.

“Please, for the love of god, let’s just somewhere else.”

“Just a minute,” Lian said as she started comparing swimsuits.

“Can this day get any worse? It starting to be the worst day of my life.”

“So, you hate me more than demons?”

“You are not the only problem, though. Something even worse happened this morning.”

“Oh? You can tell me.”

“It’s a long story.”

“We have time.”

“Okay, so, if I tell you the story, can you give me the right answer?”

“Yes?”

“Okay.”

Earlier this morning:

Nazar floating with his face up. It looked like he was lying down while floating.

Emma, Aria and Alice were going through a photo album. Mary was watching TV. And John was reading a newspaper.

“You know, you can read the news online, right?” Nazar said as he stared up to the ceiling.

“Well, I am used to this one. Plus it doesn’t ruin my eyes.”

“I can fix that. I can make something that will prevent your eyes from getting damaged due to--”

“That’s good and all, but I prefer it this way.”

- Master, I finished analysing it. -

“Did you find it?”

- No. I still don’t know why it happened yesterday. Did you notice anything unusual there? -

“No.”

“What happened yesterday?” Alice asked as she stared at the photo album in front of her. "You seemed a little worried."

“For a split second, I did not feel my powers. I thought I had lost it.”

“So, you are trying to analyse it?”

“Yes. But she hasn’t found anything about it.”

“Do you need help?”

“Nah, I will be okay. I will figure it out.”

There was a little pause.

“What about the other one?”

- The one you told me about yesterday? -

“Yes,” Nazar replied.

- Well, it only happens when you come into contact with this one person. -

“I know that but have you found any reasons?”

- No. Sorry, Master. -

“It’s okay.”

“What is this now?” Alice said.

“I noticed something odd. Some time my breathing becomes irregular, my heart skips a beat and then it beats faster. Also, my body temperature increases drastically.”

“Since when?”

“Let’s see… It happened after I returned to Earth a few weeks ago.”

“The causes?”

“Solace?”

- So far the only thing I have found is, he only becomes like this when he sees, says that person’s name or hear their name. His body changes suddenly, but of course he does not show that. -

“Person?” Alice said as she picked up a cup of coffee.

- Yes. It started when they were working together to try and help the superhumans. -

“Who is it?” She took a sip from her coffee.

- Laura Marino. -

As soon as she heard that name, all the coffee from her mouth was thrown away.

For the first time in the last few minutes, Nazar looked away from the ceiling. He saw everyone else smiling and it made him confused.

- Also, as I know everything he knows and thinks, I found out that he has been thinking about this person a lot. It increased a lot during the time freeze. -

“Oh?” Alice said as she tried to clean her clothes with a tissue.

Nazar started staring at the ceiling again.

- This person also appears in his dreams. And some of them are hard-- -

“Hard to explain,” Nazar finished Solace’s sentence. “I have deduced that she is either a demon or a cosmic entity that is messing up my physiology and messing with my mind. I need to get enough evidence before I take care of her.”

“Or there might be a simpler reason for that behaviour of yours,” John said.

“Hmm? What is it?”

“Are you happy when you see her?”

“No,” Nazar replied immediately.

- Yes. -

Solace answered the question instead of Nazar.

“Do you wish to see her when she is not around?”

“No.”

- Yes. -

“Tch. Solace.”

- Well, if I remember correcly-- -

“Shut up. I don’t miss her and I am never happy to see her.”

“Maybe, you are just in love.”

As he heard that, he suddenly fell to the ground. He immediately raised his head a little and gave a blank expression. He looked at everyone and they were all laughing.

“Nah, she is a demon or a cosmic entity. My reasoning is much better and makes much more sense.” As he said that a very thin smile appeared on his face, and out of nowhere, a few large pins appeared between his fingers. “So, she needs to die!”

Now:

“So, what do you think?” Nazar asked Laura as they left the store. “Should I kill her, just to be safe?”

“Hmm… I don’t know.”

Nazar sighed.

“Useless.”

KRAKABOOM!!

Both Nazar and Lian looked up to the sky. It was sunny but they could hear thunder. Lian was a little confused, but Nazar knew it belonged to Norse God.

“Oh shit, he is in this city, too.”

“Who?”

“Norse God. The guy who attacked you before I got there.”

“Any ideas why he is here?”

“No.” Nazar stared at the sky. “Should we abandon this whole shit and go there?”

“No, we should wait. Let’s see if Reaper can do his thing.”

“How would we know if he has done his thing?”

“He said he will send a telepathic message.”

“Okay.”

A few miles away, Norse God and a few other superhumans have found the hideout of Death 100.

“How did you find us?” Professor Death said with a cold voice.

Reaper moved into the shadows.

“It was easy. I just a 10-foot rock monster and followed him for a while. He then vanished into thin air and then I sought the help of some friends. They helped me track you guys here. And once we found the location, we arrived outside,” Eddie smiled, “just so I can make a flashy entrance.”

(Please be an idiot.) Reaper thought. (Please don’t recognise me.)

Professor Death looked at his team member but he did not look angry at all. In fact, Professor Death and his team could easily take out these superhumans without a problem. They had done the same to Nazar not too long ago.

“Heh… do you know who we are?”

As Professor Death asked the question, Eddie looked at each and every one of them.

“What can you-- oh, hi, Reaper. What are you doing with them?” Eddie said as he noticed Reaper.

(Oh, shit.) Reaper thought.

(“Nazar? We have a problem. It’s Norse God.”)

When Professor Death and the other heard what Eddie said, they all turned their gaze towards Reaper. According to them, Eddie has never left Earth and Reaper has come to Earth only once before.

“Reaper?” Darkness said.

BOOM!!

They all heard a sonic boom. Within seconds, someone entered the bar.

Nazar landed and smiled.

“Reaper, you are mine. I never knew we will settle our score this soon.”

As Nazar said, he flew past everyone else and picked up Reaper. When he picked up Reaper, he flew through the wall and within seconds, they were outside of Death 100 view.

A few miles away, Nazar let go of Reaper and they both landed softly. They were in the middle of the city, but no one was around.

“Shit, why is that idiot here?” Nazar sighed.

“It is too late for hiding it any longer. Professor Death is one of the smartest people I have ever met. His intelligence is beyond most people in the universe. And his deducting abilities are amazing, too. I am sure he has already figured it out. And you coming in and taking me away just made it easier for him.”

“How smart is he really?”

“Killed his entire civilisation and then destroyed the whole world in a matter of days. He also made a spaceship in that time. And he just used normal household appliances.”

Nazar raised his eyebrows.

“It’s too late then. Norse God should be able to hold himself for a minute, but that’s all. We need to go back.”

Nazar and Reaper immediately started to fly.

“Ah. Just enter the bar after we have confirmed if Professor Death knows or not.”

Reaper just nodded.

Nazar alone entered the bar.

“I guess it's payback time,” Nazar’s face was ripped with a smile.

“I guess it is,” the frog-like Professor Death said. “After all, I still need to examine you.”

“I see. It looks like we will be playing it the hard way.”

Professor Death raised his right hand a little.

“I had a theory that Reaper had betrayed us. It is just he is too powerful to question.”

Nazar sighed.

Reaper entered the bar.

“Ah. The traitor is back,” Darkness said.

“My, my. If it is not Lalatina.”

“The name is Darkness,” she shouted on top of her lungs.

A magic circle beneath Nazar and it produce bright white light. It was supposed to mess up Nazar’s field of vision, but it was pointless. He had recently overloaded himself with energy and was turned into even brighter energy. Plus, he can manipulate the light around himself.

“Now, now, Darkness, did you really think that would work?”

She tried to chant something but before she could, Nazar had already activated his AI and countermeasures were ready. The thing about his AI is that it can only provide countermeasures if it knows the limits of the opponent’s powers and if it knows the source of their power.

- Anti-magic bubble activated. -

“Thanks, solace.”

A small invisible barrier appeared around Darkness. Her connection to the interdimensional energies was severed. Unlike humans, people from Chochica Empire had limited magical energy within them. That energy allowed them to be a little above human in terms of physical condition and contain a little magical power within them. They can turn that into energy and use it for spells. So, she can no longer use most of the spells she has. She can only use some spells that require a limited amount of magical energies.

Nazar’s hand twitched and Lian appeared on the battlefield too.

It was 10 vs nearly 100, 96 to be exact.

Professor Death sighed.

“I guess we will have to show you how weak you are. Again.”

As he said that, the Death 100 got ready to attack.

“Solace?”

- I am preparing the countermeasures for some of them. -

“That’s good to know.”

Nazar, Reaper, Lian, Meltdown, Norse God, and a few of the new superhumans stood against them. They, of course, knew that they did not stand a chance.

- Master… you might w… to ta… re… of… odlus.. -

Solace found it hard to spit the words it needed to spit out. It looked it was going to shut down on its own.

“What? Solace?”

“I think it is Bloodlust. She is a technopath,” Lian said.

“Bloodlust? Which one is that?”

“The one who looks like a cyborg,” Reaper said.

“Thanks,” Nazar replied as he shot towards Bloodlust and took her with him.

Nazar did not go to the other side of the city but instead went straight up. However, Bloodlust’s resistance led both of them to drop inside the bar once more.

As they fell over, Professor Death laughed.

“Even if we are in our weakest state, we can still overpower you with ease.”

Nazar stood up.

“A cyborg, huh?”

“It cannot be hacked in any way,” Professor Death sounded proud. After all, it was his creation.

“Are you sure about that?”

“I bet my life on it.”

“Then let me try something. Is that okay?”

Before Professor Death could say ‘no’, Nazar was already standing in front of Bloodlust. He placed his hand on her forehead. His eyes lit up with yellow energy.

“She cannot be hacked,” Nazar smiled, “but I can try something else.”

Bloodlust’s physical resistance was futile. It did not do anything. She tried to throw a punch, but it stopped before reaching Nazar.

“Wh-what… it can’t be...” Professor Death said in disbelief.

“I am not hacking her. She is a cyborg and a powerful technopath. Every technology needs 0s and 1s to understand the command.”

When Professor Death heard that, he felt relieved.

“I have not built her in a way that operates using 0s and 1s. That is the past. She is the future.”

“I know,” Nazar said casually, “she is sophisticated but she still operates on commands, so she needs numbers. What if… the very idea of numbers was alien to her? What if words were alien to her? What if everything was alien to her?”

“What? I just told you--”

Nazar let go of Bloodlust. She stayed still and did not move.

“She does not understand words. She does not understand numbers. She does not understand the commands given to her. So, if she cannot understand that, she cannot do anything?”

Nazar punched her in the chest with enough force to throw her outside Earth’s orbit. Within seconds, the empty chunk of metal was floating in empty space.

“Now, then, what shall I do with you, you frog?”

Professor Death waved his hand and everyone started attacking Nazar and the others.

As soon as the attack began, everyone was scattered around the city. Allies and foes were all thrown across the city. Normal people saw this scene too. As there was only 10 of them and nearly 100 of them, Nazar had to finish his opponent as soon as he could, so he can stop others.

However, his opponent was Brawn. A being of tremendous strength and durability.

“We meet again, weakling,” Brawn said as he cracked his fingers. “This will be fun. I can kill you again.”

Brawn moved towards Nazar at full speed. Due to his size and mass, he was extremely slow compared to someone like Nazar.

They were in the middle of the street, so when Brawn moved, he destroyed all the cars in front of him.

Without hesitating, he punched Nazar in the face, which threw him away.

Nazar flew threw a few cars and building.

He quickly stood up and moved towards Brawn at a speed faster than speed. As soon as he reached Brawn, he punched the monster in the stomach… but it had no effect on him. Instead, a massive amount of shockwave was created, that made the civilians lose their balance.

- Master, I checked his file. You… cannot hurt him. -

“You don’t say,” Nazar muttered.

“I have taken down armies by myself. There is nothing that can hurt me.”

Nazar punched him once, twice, thrice and continued to do so for a few seconds, but it had no effect on his opponent.

Nazar took a distance between himself and his opponent.

Brawn just shrugged and said, “Told you.”

“Solace, be a dear and throw him into space for me, will you?”

As soon as Nazar said, a portal appeared beneath Brawn and he was thrown into the moon.

93 vs 10. For now.

Nazar teleported somewhere else. He appeared just a mile away from where he was.

His opponent this time was Hurricane.

She was floating a few meters in the air.

“Ugh... it’s Thor again?”

Last time when she attacked Nazar, he was injured by her attacks. Will the same happen this time, too.

The weather above the city turned from sunny to cloudy one. There was nothing but dark clouds and blue lightning.

Shea threw massive amount of lightning towards Nazar. However, unlike last time, this time Nazar managed to control the lightning. He also have weather manipulation. But he instead controlled the lightning using his energy manipulation and vector manipulation.

“What…?” Hurricane muttered.

The lighting she had thrown was moving around Nazar’s body. It was circling Nazar’s body.

Nazar was about to throw the lightning towards her, but the dark clouds vanished. Even though the clouds vanished, massive sparks of lightning were shot towards Hurricane. However, she was easily able to take control of it.

About a second later, Eddie landed next to Nazar.

“Leave her to me,” Eddie said. “Please?”

“She is all yours.”

Nazar flew across the city.

As he looked down, he saw that Reaper had taken care of his opponent. Meltdown had the same. Lian was fighting Darkness because when Bloodlust took control of Solace for a split second, Darkness was freed. However, she did not make any moves, but instead prepared a spell.

Lian was struggling against her opponent, who could use both angelic and demonic magic.

Nazar did not pay any attention to her.

He then saw that the other superhumans had lost to their opponents. He was surprised about how they were still alive.

Nazar was about to face against someone named Graviti. He knows how powerful she truly is. Solace had checked her files. And everything Nazar knows, Solace knows it, too. And everything Solace knows, Nazar can access it.

He was about to go down and face her, but there was a massive energy outburst. He tried to analyse it, but he could not do it. So, he immediately knew it was magic.

He went back to the source of the problem, and saw that Darkness had unleashed a massive amount of demonic magic. Lian was defeated.

As the demonic energy moved across the city, something awakened in Norse God once more. His eyes turned pitch black.

Hurricane was taken back a little. She tried to attack, but Eddie moved too fast. He had punched her in the face, nearly breaking her skull apart. After the punch, Hurricane was down and Eddie flew up.

He floated in the air and dark clouds appeared once more. Uncontrollable lightning shot towards the city and the civilians.

It was not just that. Increase in wind speed, raining, the temperature dropped significantly, and typhoons, too.

Nazar tried to move closer towards Eddie, but he stopped. He noticed something even worse.

A massive tsunami was heading towards the city.

Eddie started using Lightning God Thor’s power to its fullest.

However, it did not end there. He started shooting energy blasts everywhere using magic and normal energy manipulation, using Odin’s power. While doing that, he started attacking anything around him using the strength of different gods, like Thor and Odin.
