Volume 4 - Rise of Superhumanity

Arc 38 - Training

Monday, 22nd of July 2019:

Nazar was standing in Devon Island. There was no one for hundreds and hundreds of meters. It was the perfect place for Nazar’s plan.

He waved his hand and hundreds of confused superhumans showed up before him.

“What…?”

“Where…?”

And the chatter continued.

“Quite,” Nazar said out loud.

As soon as he said that, everyone stopped talking and looked at Nazar, who about 10 meters in front of them.

“I checked the data on the moon,” Nazar spoke as everyone calmed down. “You guys have barely made any progress in your training.”

Most of them looked a little surprised. It is true that they had more than 2 weeks to train, but in 2 weeks no one can improve themselves.

“So, today, I will personally train you.” Nazar paused and shook his head. “No. Today I will be your opponent. Today’s training will only end if you defeat me.”

All of them froze in their places.

“How?” A few of them said.

“In my clothes, there are 100 different spots. If you touch all of these spots in 30 minutes, then it means that I lost. However, even if 1 spot is left, it is my victory.”

Nazar said that 100 different screens like spots appeared all over his clothes.

He touched one to demonstrate. Once he touched it, it went from green to red.

“That’s impossible.” 003 said.

“Don’t worry, I will not be using any other powers beside healing. So, you can go all out. Also, you guys have good teamwork skills, so use that to the fullest. ”

They were confused now. They looked around and exchanged glances.

“But with our clothes--”

One of them said but never got the chance to finish it.

“Don’t worry,” Nazar said as he threw something into the air.

It was a small device that looked like a small piece of paper. After a few seconds, it landed on each person.

“Now, think of a costume for yourself and you shall have it.”

Nazar said that the people before him started to think.

After a few seconds, most of their clothes were completely changed. They were wearing casual clothes, but now it looked like something that was fine for training.

Some of them had tracksuits, some of them had superhero-like skin tight and the others had similar clothing.

1 similar spot appeared on their clothes.

They were all confused now.

“If I touch your spot, you are out.” Nazar paused. “You cannot change the location of the spot. It is on your right arm. I need to have a small advantage, too.”

(Turn off powers except for healing factor.) Nazat thought.

A smile ripped his face apart and he shot himself like a rocket towards his hundreds of opponents.

“Wah?”

“But...”

“In a real battle, you don’t get warnings,” Nazar said.

(Need to focus on the heavy hitters first.)

Nazar moved in the crowd, faster than they could react, except for people with super speed.

They were amazed at how fast Nazar was moving.

(022. My first target.)

022 is a weather manipulator. She created air vortexes using air manipulation. Her weather manipulation allows her to manipulate all things that are related to weather such as, temperature manipulation, and wind manipulation.

She created air vortexes and started to fly.

As she raised above the ground for about 5 meters, Nazar dodged everyone in front of his and jumped 5 meters into the air like it was nothing.

022 was surprised by that and she lost her balance. Using that confusion, Nazar touched the spot on 022’s clothes, which was placed on her right arm.

“But...”

“My physical capabilities are way above humans, even without powers., Nazar said as landed on solid ground. “Even before getting my powers last year, I could move much faster than normal humans, could think faster too, and time was much slower to me. Plus, my strength was above normal humans, too.”

As Nazar was explaining, he attempted a backflip and dodged the attack of a speedster.

It was 054. He is one of the fastest speedsters.

054 attacked Nazar from the back, so when Nazar dodged it, he grabbed the speedster by his hand. As he grabbed his hand, the speedster did not stop moving. Nazar used that opportunity to slow him down a little, and then grab him by his head.

Once he grabbed his head, he placed a little force on it and then slammed it on the ground.

After that, the speedster tried to escape, but he was down for 5 seconds, which was enough time for Nazar to hit his ‘spot’ on his right arm.

Nazar stood up and smiled.

“Come on. I said you guys have good teamworking skills, so use it.”

As Nazar said that, he was attacked by 079, 325, 565, 621, 117, and 956. Those were all speedsters.

They attack Nazar from all directions. As usual, his smile did not vanish.

As he looked around, he was soon going to be surrounded by speedsters.

All the speedsters came very close and were about to attack his spots, he jumped 10 meters in the air.

He landed away from the speedsters and took on other people with power.

He first aimed for 625.

As he moved towards 625, he was attacked by light constructs that looked like small knives.

Nazar moved to the right and grabbed 004 and used her as a shield.

As soon as 625 saw 004 being used as a shield, his weapons disappeared.

In that time, Nazar had already taken care of 004.

He threw away 004 as soon as 625’s weapons were gone. The distance between them was about 5 meters now and Nazar closed the distance in less than 5 seconds. He moved past 625 and hit his spot and taking him out of them game.

As he moved past 625, he slowed down a little and said, “Sorry.”

He then increased his speed again.

Nazar, in his normal human form, can run up to 100 Miles per hour.

He then moved to take down a technopath and the healers.

As he was about to attack others, giant walls of ice were created around him.

Nazar was now trapped in a room made of ice.

(Hmm… I should be able to use my teleporting tech, right?)

“Oi, can I use my teleportation tech?”

Nazar said out loud, so he can be heard outside.

“...”

"No."

"So, how about you remove these walls? It's not going to get us anywhere." Nazar said.

There was no reply from the outside for a while. However, there was a chatter.

“In exchange for 10 spots.”

“Okay,” Nazar replied without hesitation.

(So, he is to my right.)

He used that chance to find out where his enemy is.

After a few seconds, the ice walls vanished into thin air and before it was completely gone, Nazar jumped over the small amount of ice that was still left and immobilized 335.

“Okay, I will let you touch 10 spots.” Nazar paused. “However, you will have to give me 5 seconds in return. You cannot attack in that time”

At first, the superhumans around him were confused as to what they should do. They looked around and nodded.

“Okay,” 003 said.

About 10 of the spots were gone in an instant.

And they all give Nazar about 30 CM radius for 5 seconds.

However, Nazar only needed 1 second.

As soon as the moved back, he rushed around and used the 5 seconds to take out 4 other superhumans.

Without wasting any time, he jumped 10 meters in the air. He was about to come down, but was thrown off balance by the flyer.

She flew very low and hit one of his spots.

However, Nazar did not waste any time. He recovered very quickly and jumped back down.

He jumped in the middle of the a small crowd. If even 5 of the superhumans attack Nazar head on, he will easily go down, but for some reason, they are not attacking.

Nazar looked around and most of them were not attacking.

“Time out!” Nazar said out loud.

“Seriously, what is wrong with you guys?” Nazar said as he looked around. “Before this session, I calculated 150 different scenarios in which I will be taken down in less than 5 seconds. But you guys are not doing anything.”

“Well… we don’t really want to hurt one another.” 001 said.

“Really?” Nazar looked at 001 and he was not smiling. “Then why are you not attacking me? Telepathic attacks should not be a problem for the people around you.”

Nazar looked around again and they did not look like the people who were willing to really train under him.

“How about this?” Nazar said as he looked at 001 again. “I don’t have my powers right now, so I want you to fight you telepathically.”

“What…?” 001 said in surprise.

“If you manage to get through my defences in less than 120 seconds, you guys win.”

“Okay,” 001 said as he readied himself.

Everyone else created a distance between themselves and 001 and Nazar. Those two were standing against one another in a small circle.

Nazar tapped his right hand three times with his middle finger and a small screen appeared.

He tapped a few times and a timer appeared on the holographic screen, which went from 5 CM in length and 2.5 CM in height to 50 CM in length and 25 CM in height. The screen floated above them and showed the timer to everyone around. No matter in which direction they were standing, they could see the timer perfectly.

Nazar looked at 001 again and asked a question.

“Ready?”

“... Yes.”

As soon as 001 replied, the clock started to begin.

001 closed his eyes and opened it again. It was lit up with yellow energy.

The energy released by superhumans changes colours constantly. For example, psychic energy can some time be purple while other times it will be blue. And now it is yellow.

001 entered Nazar’s mind in the first 10 seconds.

Once he entered Nazar’s mind, he found himself in the middle of nowhere. All around him was green fields with a few white, yellow and red flowers.

Even though Nazar is not using his powers, he can still defend his mind from trespassers.

001 moved in this green field of illusions for a few seconds, but it was instantly changed.

It went from a green field to a sewer.

A few seconds later it was changed to a graveyard.

And just like that, 001 wasted 120 seconds doing absolutely nothing but be confused by Nazar’s defences.

Once the battle was over, Nazar yet again stood victorious.

“You still don’t know how to break through psychic defences?”

Nazar sighed.

(Turn on powers.)

He waved his right hand and all the superhumans found themselves where they were before being forcefully teleported.

Nazar went back to the moon.

He walked into Laura Marino’s office.

“Seriously, these guys still can’t do the basics.” Nazar said as soon as he opened the door.

Laura was confused as to what Nazar was talking about.

“...??”

After seeing her confused expression, Nazar said, “I removed my powers and gave them 30 minutes to defeat me. After a few minutes into the ‘training’, I saw them doing nothing. So, I asked 001 to fight me telepathically without my powers and he accepted the challenge.”

“However, he didn’t even go through my most basic defences. All he had to do was punch the air and he would have gone through the defences.”

As Nazar spoke, Laura listened quietly.

“So, what should we do with them?”

Laura shrugged.

“I don’t have any powers, so I have no idea how to train them.” She paused. “Isn't this your job? Didn’t you say that you would train them?”

Nazar lowered his head and sighed.

“Solace, do something for me.”

- I am busy, Master. I am very close to finding something. -

Nazar looked confused.

“Wow.” Nazar said slowly. “Even my own AI is not listening to me.”

Nazar then looked at Laura who was smiling.

“Why are you smiling?”

“Isn’t this kind of weird?” Laura said. “We all had one objective; to kill you. But now we are all allies.”

“Yeah, it is weird. But I created this organisation anyway.” Nazar paused for a little while. “So, what kind of training were they given by your old boss?”

“I don’t know. I was never really part of those kind of stuff.”

Nazar just replied with a nod.

They sat down for the next few minutes listening to stupid ideas by Nazar. He once suggested that they should just throw them on a stranded island and let them use their powers to escape.

After a while, an idea came to Nazar’s mind.

“Oh. I got one.” Nazar’s face was ripped in half with a smile. “Why don’t I just place the instructions directly into their mind?”

“...??”

“I will just add knowledge in their mind about how to use their abilities perfectly. After the instructions are inserted, they will be able to use their abilities to their fullest. It is similar to the AI used by your old bo...”

- Sorry to interrupt, Master. -

“What is it, Solace?”

After that, Solace told them about the secret societies.

- I have not identified the others, but the secret society that ran Britain was the Royal Family. -

“What?”

“What?”

Both Nazar and Laura found themselves confused.

“First of all, there is so much wrong with that. Like why would they cause the collapse in the first place?” Laura said.

“Agreed. It does not make sense.”

- I am still trying to analyse all the information. -

The AI paused for a second.

- Wouldn’t it be better to visit one of these ‘secret societies’ and gather information?

“So, you want me to go to the Buckingham Palace and ask for information?”

- Yes. -

“What are you, an idiot?”

- Master, have you heard the phrase ‘like father, like son’?

Upon hearing that, Laura burst into laughter. And Nazar did not look happy.

“Why did you create it like this?”

- I don’t understand why he programmed me like this, but he said he wanted his own Alfred. -

“I thought it would be fun.” Nazar said slowly.

Nazar let out a deep sigh.

“So, what do we do?” Nazar said.

“I don't know. It’s not like we can go and ask the queen about the secret societies or whatever.”

“Hey, Solace, hack into their systems and see if you can find anything.”

- Okay, Master. -

“I thought you could do that under your own power?”

“I can, but why should I do it, when I have created this magnificent AI to do it?”

After a few minutes of silence, Solace spoke.

- There is absolutely nothing about secret societies in their mainframe. -

“...”

“...”

Both Laura and Nazar exchanged gazes.

“You know, they are not going to mention the secret society, right?” Laura said.

- No, but I checked their entire database and there is nothing about any secret plans. However, there are some communication logs between the ‘secret societies’. -

“Show it to me.”

As Nazar said that, Solace, who was a only a voice a few seconds ago, appeared as a hologram. In front of it, a massive screen appeared that showed many different communication logs.

Nazar looked through all of them in a matter of seconds.

“So, what does it say?”

Laura asked as she stood up and walked closer to the monitor.

“There is nothing in them except for meeting locations and a few things about when certain plans should take place.” Nazar paused. “And it dates back to 2001.”

“2001?” Laura muttered.

Her eyes widened with a little shock as she realised something.

“Wasn’t this when you were taken in for experiments?”

Nazar was surprised to hear that, but he then realised that both of her parents worked on similar experiments, so they might had access to his data.

“I was taken into the experiment in 2000.”

“But my parents said that the first data they had access to was from early 2001.”

“Hmm?”

Nazar raised his hand and scratched his chin.

“I was born in May 2000. As far as I can tell, they found out about my powers after a few weeks. So, I was taken into the experiment in the summer of 2000.” Nazar paused. “Because I was too young, I still don’t remember everything but I remember most of it, so I can’t be wrong about the dates.”

“How did they know you had powers?”

“I showed signs of intelligence from the first day I was born and I showed a lot of feats of strength and speed, which made them suspicious and took me into a lab to check it. After checking me, they found out that I had energies within my body that cannot be found anywhere else. Then, about a week later or so, I was taken into the experiment.” Nazar explained.

“So, did anything happen in 2001?”

“Beside experiments, nothing else.”

Laura started reading over the communication logs.

After a while, she stopped reading.

“I think it will be better to talk to one of the ‘secret societies’.”

“That is a good idea, but do you really think they will tell us?”

“Hmm… it is highly unlikely, but it is worth a try.” She paused. “Maybe you can just read their minds?”

Nazar’s shoulders dropped and said, “Let’s go meet the Queen of Britain.”

And just like that, they both vanished into thin air.

----------------------------------------------------

Heaven:

Aarin entered a place called Eternal Library. It is a place that stores tales about every single being in the multiverse.

As she entered the place, a man with grey hair was standing there. He looked very old for someone who doesn't age. He was Stadiel, the Angel of Knowledge. He is the all-knowing angel. He is the keeper of the library.

As for his appearance, it is because since the day he was created, he looked old.

“Ah, Aarin. What brings you here today?” Stadiel said as soon as Aarin entered the library.

As she entered the place, beside this man, there was nothing else.

“I want to know about someone.” Aarin replied.

“Who?”

“The Nameless One?”

Upon hearing that, the man found himself shocked.

“How do you know that name?”

“I don’t know. I just have this name floating in my head for the last few days.” Aarin paused as she realised the shocked expression of Stadiel’s face. “So, who is this being anyway?”

“I will allow you to learn about him… in return for knowledge on certain someone of interest.”

“Certain someone of interest?”

“Yes,” Stadiel said. “I will tell you after you finish your research on the Nameless One.”

Aarin was a little confused, but she agreed anyway.

As she agreed by nodding, the whole place around Stadiel, which was nothing earlier was filled with books.

“This is the ‘N’ section.” Stadiel said.

Aarin did not say anything, but walked towards the section that was marked ‘Na’.

She checked the names of millions and millions of names before finding the book that was titled ‘Nameless One’.

She picked up the book. The book looks like a book. Each book is nothing but a cover. Once you open the book, you will have to tell it what you want to know about this person and that information will be added into your mind.

This books works like a gateway. For example, if you want to know what a particular being has done in the last 5 days, all that information will be temporarily added into your brain.

“Who is the Nameless One?” Aarin asked the book without pages.

For a question like that, Aarin should learn every basic things about this being. For example, when it was created and what it can do. However, the only response she got was, “Origin unknown.”

Aarin clicked her tongue and asked another question.

“What is he capable of?”

And the reply she got in her mind was: “Capabilities unknown.”

“Where is it now?”

The reply was: “ This being exist outside of the multiverse.”

“Damn it,” Aarin muttered. “Then why did I see the fragments of him destroying a universe? What is happening?”

She placed the book back from where she got it.

She was about to walk away, but then she noticed a book at the very end. It was titled, ‘Nazar’.

She went there, and picked up the book.

This book was different from the other one she picked up. Before she asked it a question, the book asked her a question: “Which universe?”

Aarin found herself confused.

“What?” Aarin muttered.

“It is asking you, which ‘Nazar’ from the multiverse you would like to know about.” The man paused. “If you are looking for information on the Nazar you know, then choose Universe Prime.”

“Universe Prime?” Aarin asked in confusion.

“Yes,” the librarian spoke in a clam tone. “When the creation began, there was one universe. However, after a while, the multiverse took its form from Universe Prime. The Multiverse is still expanding and it is taking its form from Universe Prime.”

“Show me everything about Nazar of Universe Prime.”

Answer: “Records empty.”

Aarin was frozen in shock.

“This is the ‘certain someone of interest’ I mentioned earlier.”

Aarin looked at the old man next to her.

“He is a being that is hidden from our view.” Stadiel said. “Even people like Michael cannot see him.”

“But I could see him a few day--”

Aarin could not finish her sentence. She noticed something. She could no longer ‘see’ Nazar.

“Can’t see him anymore?” Stadiel said in a calm tone. “I have a theory. I think he subconsciously allowed you to see him with your nigh-omnipresence.”

“So, you are telling me…?”

“Yes, he is hidden from higher forms of powers.” Stadiel paused. “This is why I need you to tell me everything you know about him.”

Yesterday - Planet Xiem - Vanaha Empire:

The Intergalactic Council meeting is in session. Everyone is here via holograms but Iket is here in person.

“” Hoel, the king of Duluria Empire said loudly.

Iket Xehz sighed.

“” Iket paused himself and clicked his tongue. “”

All of them were confused.

“,” Iket said. “”

“” Hoel lost himself to his temper.

“” Iket explained. “”

Everyone looked confused, while Iket placed a smile on his face.

“”

“” Hoel raised his voice.

“” Iket said in a calm tone. “” Iket pointed at each empire in the council.

“” Iket paused. “”

“” Iket continued. “” Iket narrowed down his eyes a little bit and placed a grin on his face. “”

“” The High Priestess of Chochica Empire, Luan spoke. “”

“” Iket said with a half smile. “”

They were all surprised by that.

“,” Wep, the queen of Outox Empire said.

“”

“” Iket said.

“”

“” Iket simply said this with a smile on his face. “”

“”

“”

There was silence in the room.

Iket stood up from his chair and said, “”

As he said that, the screens vanished.

He went back into the throne room and found the person known as Mother there.

“” The Mother said as soon as Iket was in the room.

“,” Iket said as smile ripped his face in half. “”
