Arc 33 - Angel Fall

“What…?”

Aarin slowly spoke in a confused tone.

“That’s right. Angel Fall is a project that I have wasted thousands of years on. With this, I am nigh-omnipotent. And I specifically created this to fight that bastard Lucifer.” Iket explained.

“Hey, isn’t Lucifer the guy you love?”

Nazar said that to Aarin when she was floating in mid-air. She was speechless.

Upon hearing that, Aarin relaxed a little and said, “Why are you being so relaxed?”

“No, I just wanted to ask if it is the same one.”

Upon listening to their conversation, Iket was a little angry because Nazar was not trembling in fear like how he envisioned it. But he was a little surprised by the fact that Aarin loved Lucifer.

“You… you are in love with that monster?” Iket said as his smile slowly vanished.

Aarin sighed and explained. “As an emotion-based angel, when we were first created, we were given an option to have a strong emotion, in my case, love towards another being. Because I was young and dumb...”

“You are still pretty dumb,” Nazar muttered while Aarin was still speaking.

Aarin looked at him but then continued to speak. “... I chose Lucifer because of his power. And even since then, I cannot remove this emotion at all. So, no matter what, this emotion can never go away.”

“Do you have to choose someone?”

“Yes,” Aarin started to answer Nazar’s question. “As an emotion-based angel, if you don’t have a strong feeling towards someone, your power will reduce significantly.”

“Angel systems are weird,” Nazar said as he scratched the back of his head.

“So, if you are an emotion-based angel, shouldn’t you be a high-class angel?” This time it was Iket who asked this question.

“Most emotion-based angels are. However, love is one of the weakest emotion. Also, when it comes to emotions like love and happiness, it must be pure or else we will not get the power.”

“So, you are just universal now, right?” A smile appeared on Iket’s face.

“Even lower than that. Because I did not have power for a long time, I am severely weakened...”

Aarin noticed something. Iket was smiling and she was telling him her weakness.

Aarin went quiet after that.

“Why did you stop?” Nazar asked after a few seconds of silence.

After that, he noticed that grin on Iket’s face and he knew why.

Iket’s grin turned into a laugh. “You are a mere small fry now. I was expecting to fight at least a universal level angel.”

As soon as he said that, both Nazar and Aarin found themselves a few miles away. They were thrown away by a force they could not see. Nazar had been through a similar one before a few weeks ago, but that was much slower and weaker.

“Nigh-omnipotent. Hundred times the speed of light. The strength that can shatter planets with a blow. Telepathy that can make entire empire like Duluria Empire bend their knee to me. Telekinesis that can move the sun. Teleportation that can allow me to go outside of the universe. Time and space manipulation. And so much more. I could destroy the whole universe if I wanted to, but why should I? I am the cosmic messiah.”

Iket kept boasting about his abilities.

He went closer to Nazar and Aarin.

“I am not a villain. I am not a hero. I just want to save everything even if I have to sacrifice a lot.”

Nazar did not have much time to recover before the next hit. However, Aarin was recovered and she moved both herself and Nazar out of the way.

(What is happening?) Nazar thought.

When Iket spoke earlier, Nazar did not pick up anything he was saying. And Aarin only picked a few words like light, time, and destroy.

Before they knew it, they found himself flying faster than they ever had without their control.

Aarin got herself ready for another attack. She held Nazar close who was still not recovered from the attack. She waited for Iket to make a move and she wanted to stop herself and Nazar from getting him again.

However, she waited and waited but nothing happened. Nazar recovered after a few seconds and was confused.

“What…?”

Aarin wrapped her hands around Nazar and waited to shield Nazar if she could not move both of them in time.

“Are my moves too fast for you?”

Iket said as he kept moving around. He was not attacking, he was just moving very fast.

“My Vanahan physiology. Plus my royal blood. Plus my divine power. Plus Angel Fall easily makes me a high-level middle-class angel.”

“He is insane,” Aarin whispered to Nazar. “Go, get out of her. I will fight him.”

Upon hearing that, Nazar’s eyes widened with shock.

He was still not recovered fully. Blood stopped pouring from his mouth, but he felt still a little pain.

Due to him being constantly using his regenerative powers over the course of the last three weeks, it has gotten a lot weaker. He might not be dying every 5 seconds, but his energies are still not fully recovered.

“But...” Nazar said slowly as he did not have a lot of strength.

“I said get out of here.” Aarin slightly raised her voice.

“...”

Nazar was about to vanish, but something hit them. Aarin blocked the hit with all her might, but they were still thrown away.

Aarin looked towards Nazar who was standing up with his shattered body.

“Nazar… what are you doing?” Aarin said as she tried to get up.

Even in that condition, Nazar forced a bitter smile on his face.

“I learned something in the last few weeks...” Nazar started to speak while trembling.

He had taken more damage than he knew. Even with Aarin’s protection, he was still damaged.

That being today did not heal him or anything. It just removed the virus in his body. So, his body is still being recovered.

“...every time I revive, my energy increases and I am fully recovered.”

Nazar said that and stood in a battlefield that was way above his league.

Aarin forced herself to get up and she moved towards Nazar, who was less than 100 meters away from her. She entered light speed in an instant, but it was no match for Iket. Because he punched a hole through Nazar’s body.

As soon as his fist made an impact with Nazar’s body, it splattered across the battlefield.

“I know you can come back from the dead, so I will enjoy killing you for days,” Iket said as he burst into laughter. “I will deal with her before you revive.”

Iket turned his gaze towards Aarin. Her mouth bloody now too.

She raised her right hand and wiped the blood off her mouth.

(I just need to stall him for a little longer, huh?) Aarin thought.

She moved. She moved at the speed faster than sound. Faster than the speed of light.

However, she was not moving against the enemy in front of her, but away.

She moved away and as expected, Iket followed.

Iket soon reached Aarin and hit her with psychic energy, which made Aarin lose her footing.

Iket returned back to where Nazar was.

Nazar’s body parts were coming together.

Iket watched as the body was reconstructing itself. He reached his hand and was about to place a technorganic virus in his body, but he could not do it.

The reason? Aarin had shot him with an energy blast.

Iket was thrown away for a few hundred meters. However, he recovered very quickly, but it was not fast enough. Because Nazar was completely recovered this time.

Everytime he revive, his body is completely new and his energies increase.

Nazar smiled as he looked toward Iket. And Aarin knew what he was going to do.

“Don’t do it!” Aarin shouted. “You will regret it like any other power.” She paused. “Let… let me handle this.”

“But...”

“Just leave.”

Aarin waved her hand and was about to teleport Nazar to Earth, but something else happened.

Nazar vanished a split second before she did it.

However, Iket thought that Aarin did it.

“Is it really wise to send him off?” Iket asked as he shot towards Aarin like a rocked.

All this time, the speed attacks were nothing but punches to the gut. So, he did that again. He punched Aarin in the guts and sent her flying off.

“Don’t worry. I will kill you both today.” Iket spouted these words.

Aarin could not do anything but to focus on getting away from Iket. She could have a higher chance at areal attacks or long range based attacks.

Nazar was teleported out of battlefield into somewhere else. He found himself not Earth but completely somewhere else.

He was on planet Xiem, the throneworld of Vanaha Empire.

He looked around in amazement. Floating buildings. Flying cars.

“Wow!” Nazar said out loud while looking around him.

Right now, he was standing in front of the tallest building he could see. He was standing in front of a building with no windows and doors. He was standing in front of the Vanaha Empire castle and throne room.

Nazar kept looking around. He wanted to enjoy this scene out of a sci-fi story, but he was not in the situation to do that.

“Welcome to Xiem, the capital of Vanaha Empire,” a woman’s voice reached Nazar.

Nazar turned back and saw a woman who was much taller than him. She was about 3 meters tall. She was wearing a white dress that covered her whole body. She had green skin and green eyes.

Their skin was not as smooth as humans but it was not also as hard as the Dulurians. They have no hair on their head or have any facial hair.

“I am Mother,” the woman said as she politely greeted Nazar.

With a confused expression on his face, Nazar asked, “So what?”

The woman smiled and said, “Sorry, I was being a little vague. My title is Mother.”

“Title?”

“I am… the Mother of this empire.”

Nazar’s jaw dropped and asked a stupid question. “Mother of this empire? So, you are a few million years old?”

“No,” the woman replied in a calm tone. “The title mother is given to one person in the royal bloodline. This person must have great magical knowledge, have great cosmic knowledge, have great military knowledge, must be extremely smart, and so much more. Once someone become ‘mother’ they have enough power to change the empire. She can change the king if she wants or she can break apart the empire.”

“So, you have the biggest authority in this empire?”

“Yes, that is correct.” The woman said as she turned her gaze away from Nazar and looked at the windowless and doorless building.

“Let’s go in,” she said as she went closer to Nazar and placed her hand on his shoulder.

Nazar and the woman who calls herself Mother found themselves in a room. It looked like a meeting room with a massive table and a few chairs.

They sat down.

“I wanted to ask something.”

“Please go ahead.” The woman said to Nazar.

“How come you guys speak English?”

“English?” The woman looked confused. “Well, as a member of the royal family, we have an ability called Omnilingualism. We can understand any language spoken before us. When you used the term ‘wow’ earlier, I picked up your language.”

“I have a similar ability,” Nazar said slowly.

The room they were in, it was in the highest level of the 10 KM building. If you looked out the glass window, you could see the whole planet from here. There were no clouds in the sky either, so the view was much better.

When the woman saw Nazar looking around, she said, “This building is our throne room. We control the thousand star empire from this building.”

Nazar was surprised.

“I wonder how did I end up here?”

“That is easy to answer. I teleported you here.” The woman said calmly but Nazar was even more surprised.

“Why?”

“We have a project called Angel Fall. You have heard about it before, right?” As she said that, Nazar nodded. “This project was created to fight an angel. He wanted to test this weapon of his for thousands of years but he never found an angel. That was until a few weeks ago when you summoned an angel and he knew what he had to do. He knew you were too powerful, so if he cannot fight an angel, he will fight you to test it. However, he needed to get permission from me and use this project, sp he told me that you were going to destroy Earth and he wanted to save the Earth from you.”

“A few days after your capture, you were presumed dead. So, he told me that the project has been stopped. But it was not the case.” The woman continued. “He apparently never stopped it. When he found out that you were alive again, he waited for the project to be completely finished and waited until you were fully healed. He also needed the final piece to make the project work.”

“So, all pieces were in place.” The woman continued. “You were fine and the project was ready, so he did not waste a second and left for Earth to test that weapon. However, I am sure you are no longer his target at the moment. It is that angel. And I brought you here because I want you to stop my brother.”

“Brother…?” Nazar muttered but he did not ask any questions about that.

“So, how does Angel Fall work?” Nazar asked.

“As a divine ruler, he has an ability that allows him to make his subjects agree with him and never question him. We agreed that he should never use it, but for this project, it was needed.” She paused. “Using that ability, he is linked to the mind of every citizen of Vanaha Empire. Once Angel Fall starts, he enters a chamber and everyone else collapse to the ground.”

“In short, Angel Fall combines trillions of citizens of Vanaha and creates a construct that looked like an angel.” She added.

Nazar’s eyes widened with surprise.

“That was a construct?”

“Yes. Right now the divine ruler is still in the chamber. He is controlling the angel from this chamber.”

“So, you're telling me that trillions of citizens are collapsed on the ground? Then why are you still…?”

“People from the royal bloodline are not affected.”

“You guys are cruel.”

The woman did not respond to that. She just smiled.

“So, why not unplug your brother from the chamber?”

“I wish it was that easy.” The woman said. “If we remove him from the chamber, we risk the destruction of the angel and the death of trillions of people.”

“So, if the angel dies, every single person dies?”

The woman nodded.

“So, what is the final piece you mentioned earlier?”

“It is a reality warper.”

Nazar was taken back a little by that.

“So, how am I supposed to help?”

“The final piece can only be removed by someone who has a deep connection to it.”

“I… don’t understand.”

“Angel Fall uses reality warping and the emotional spectrum in order to operate. So, the final piece is the certain special female in your life.”

Nazar frowned upon hearing that.

“Seriously, who kidnaps someone without knowing their name?” Nazar paused. “Anyway, I don’t know any reality warpers beside Aarin.”

(Emotional spectrum?) Nazar thought.

“What is the emotional spectrum?”

“The emotions in the universe. They can be harvested.”

“Like the Lantern Corps?”

The woman did not understand what Nazar meant by that.

“Harvested? How?”

“We can use our connection to the emotional spectrum for many things such as weapons.”

“Weapons?”

“Yes, we have weapons that can mess with your emotions.”

“...You people are weird.”

There was a little silence in the room.

“So, is there anything else I need to know before we start disassembling this project?”

“No. Let’s go.” As she said that, both Nazar and the woman found themselves in a dome-shaped room, which she referred to as chamber.

In this dome-shaped room, there were some computer screens and a man was standing there observing it. His name was Kiet, the divine ruler’s son.

Next to the monitors were two hibernation pods. The hibernation pods were made of glass, so you could see who was inside it.

One pod held the divine king. He had red skin, which was different from these people.

The other pod held a little girl. A girl Nazar barely knew. A girl with blue hair. She was a 9 years old girl who threatened the entire reality a few weeks ago.

“Aria?” Nazar said as soon as she saw him.

“Yes, her.” The woman said calmly.

Kiet looked at them and said, “Mother, father knew you will do something like this, so he left me here to guard him.”

“According to my calculations, a member of the royal family are extremely below me in terms of power,” Nazar said as he analysed his opponent’s abilities.

But the prince of Vanaha Empire just smiled in return.

“I know the difference in our power. But as a prince of Vanaha Empire, I have access to technology a primitive race like yours have not even thought about. Also, I was preparing for you since we first met, human.”

As the prince said that, his white simple clothes hardened. It turned into an armour. The armour started adding layer and layers of the technorganic tech they use in their battleships.

As he armoured up, he charged towards Nazar like a rocket.

Meanwhile, Aarin is getting beaten by the project Angel Fall.

Aarin does not get time to recover. She is being thrown from one side of the planet to another.

Right now, she is coughing blood. Her eyes are barely open. She is about to lose consciousness.

Angel Fall stands above her and laughs. It can kill her right here and right now, but it has found a new prey.

Less than a second ago a portal opened. A man walked from that portal. He was tall and handsome. Blonde hair and red eyes. Black wings. He was wearing a white suit.

“Lu...ci...fer” Aarin said slowly. She could not see properly but she knew who it was.

It was Lucifer. The first angel.
