《New Escape》New Escape Chapter fifty Three

The second ogre was exceedingly easy to kill. It's guard was done, so there was no feeling of accomplishment. The blood I have available to draw from is quite abundant thus my main concern is increasing my spiritual power and spiritual control so I can more easily harness the power. However, I don't idle in the tunnel too long and head back to the fork in the cavern. There is only one tunnel left, so the chance that the exit is in that tunnel is quite high. Using the crystal from the fourth tunnel I enter into the fifth. I expect a number of vicious beings looking to end my life, but I am surprised by the number of normal looking humans who looked overjoyed when I entered through the invisible membrane.
"Our savior!" A mildly overweight middle-aged man strolls out of the crowd and spreads his arms in a welcoming manner. He removes his rather fine hat and introduces himself. "My name is Roofus V. Parillia, son of Albert V. Parillia. I welcome you hero as you are a sight for sore eyes. The people of my village and I were suddenly brought to this strange cavern. We have been here for years not needing food or water, but nonetheless stuck. With your arrival we finally have a shred of hope in which to escape!"
The middle-aged mans dark hair waves about as he moves in a rather exaggerated manner.
"Ah, yeah." These people definitely made me feel suspicious, and this man's over exaggerated display did not help that in the slightest. I awkwardly look around at the group of people who look towards me in awe. The only way to describe their attire compared to Roofus is shabby. These people were obviously peasants in their town and they also appear rather dirty.

"If you will, please follow me. We found a rather bizarre object at the end of this tunnel, if you could please take a look at it." Roofus begins to lead me down the tunnel lit by red-orange crystals.
"Oooahh!" One of the peasant like women seemingly tripped and fell on her face behind me. The people further behind our group walk further up closer to the front of our group and close in near the woman. All of their expressions appear slightly strained and their movements slightly fidgety.
"Are you alright?" I ask the fallen woman while spreading my spiritual sense to cover the crowd. I was surrounded, and as the woman looked up towards me her flesh turned bright crimson. After blinking her eyelids her eyes turned pure black as did her previously light brown hair. Her fingernails turn black and extend from her hands like claws. She opens her mouth revealing two rows of razor sharp shark-like teeth. An ear piercing screech explodes from her dark lips with a slight fog. Her legs swell as she builds forth power to burst towards me.
Using wind manipulation I burst backwards while drawing blood from the contract seal. As I emerge from the crowd I realize every single one of them are the same type of creature as the woman. Black hair sharp like needles. Teeth not dissimilar to those of sharks. Flesh colored similar to the innards of a watermelon. Their pitch black eyes are like staring into a bottomless pit. The crowd of thirty or more unknown demons stare at me with steaming drool dripping from the open mouths.
"You people seriously give me the creeps." The blood I drew out takes takes the form of a long bladed scythe that releases a rather sinister aura. I burst forward from my position back into the crowd not giving them time to respond. The demons closest to me also charge towards me hoping to overpower me with numbers. Constantly enlarging and shrinking the scythe when necessary I slice through four of the red colored beings.

"Kaaaah" their screams are cut short as blood surges through their throats. Trace amounts of the blood from the scythe enters their bisected bodies. The demons that previously charged me back up and put themselves on the defensive.
"You are strong." The previously eloquent village chief no longer forms long sentences. The demons do not seem to have given up as they begin to draw in trace amounts of earthen element essence from the air into their bodies. The suction is incredibly powerful and draws essence from the whole range of the tunnel. While this amount of earthen essence could not do much in terms of a physical attack it can be used to enhance their body if they have the proper technique.
The previously mindless attacks of the demons change into trained tactics. Groups of five demons each attack in short intervals. This quick pace prevents me from swinging the long scythe without leaving large openings for them to attack me through.
"[Transform] Dual Wield." The blood which previously formed the large scythe forms into two smaller scythes. With the smaller weapons I may be able to repel their attacks more easily, but they have power in numbers, so they can wear me down quite easily.
Using wind manipulation once more I burst backwards and use the distance advantage to deal ranged damage. I throw the scythe in my left through the air.
"[Transform] Endless Needles." The scythe explodes in a haze of blood before several droplets each combine to form into five centimeter (two inch) long needles. Releasing vast amounts of spiritual energy I manipulate the wind to surge forth towards the demons at high speed.
Without being able to dodge countless demons are pushed back by the strong wind barely noticing the needles hidden within. While not every demon was struck by a needle the ones that were quickly released terrible screams as their blood was transformed and began attacking their internal organs. The few that were not struck were dumbfounded and turned around and ran.
"[Absorb]" I bring in a thin flow of blood until it suddenly stops. "Huh? that certainly isn't all the blood." Large amounts of blood begins to pool underneath the fallen corpses of the demons.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

Tome of Stealth [A System Anti-Apocalypse]
When the Passivity Precept takes over the world it snuffs out all brutality, leaving its MMO-like Violence Simulator as humanity's only source of physical violence. Knowing how much she can make from selling epic gear, Grace Winston enters the simulation and discovers that it's more than just a game. Somewhere in there are the answers to who started the fire that killed her father. For far too long, Lorevinel Silvercat has been stuck as the Ravenborn clan’s free-roaming prisoner. They’ve held a grudge against his clan and have used him to vent their hatred. Having planned his escape for several years, he has everything ready, but he needs a specific artifact from the Rogues Guild to finally start his journey. Will Grace find her answers? Will Lore gain his freedom? Can these two unlikely people, both alien to each other, find common ground and work together while dealing with an unasked for soul bond? ToS is a Lite LitRPG (meaning very few stats with a focus on story). Expect cursing, sexual tension, descriptions of breeding dungeon rats, and a little gore. TL;DR- The System Anti-Apocalypse forces everyone to be peaceful and only commit violence inside its Magical VR game.
