《New Escape》New Escape Chapter Thirty Four

A loud banging sound comes from the door of our temporary housing provided to us by the basilisks.
"WE KNOW HE'S IN THERE! BRING HIM OUT!" A number of voices sound out from behind the door, my worst fear seems to be coming true.
"Bring who out?" Maddy calls out from behind the door as Dylan shrinks back.
"Don't think you can hide him! We know he's the slayer of lizards!" Maddy remains confused, but I turned towards Dylan.
"Sorry Dylan, but for the good of Maddy and I we will be turning you in. Not to mention you bothering me in class the other day." The air in the room quickly becomes heavy. "Maddy, we must quickly restrain him, I still don't know all his skills." I easily turn on my best friend for my best interest.
Dylan immediately removes the shields attached to his back and prepares a number of defensive skills. Maddy, who is constantly prepared for combat, had already went for an assassination. Knowing there is a lot of water underneath the building I focus my [Nature Manipulation] on the water causing it to explode upwards into the building. Maddy's blades only get halfway through Dylan's skin do to some sort of body enhancing skill he used. My water eats away at a chunk of mana but manages to throw Dylan off balance and deal a bit of damage.
Rather than communicating with words we communicate silently. Maddy's eyes are filled with a determination to cut down the obstacle in her path, while I have a cold look mixed slightly with joy at my chance to get revenge from a previous event. Dylan's eyes however seemed to depict the idea that he had already guessed this outcome. Before Maddy or I can do any real damage to Dylan the basilisks break into the room.

While their personalities would make one think they were a subservient species this was quickly proved wrong by the power held by the basilisk. Holding true to it's namesake's abilities the basilisks eyes begin to glow with a piercing light. While Maddy and I are looking towards Dylan and the back wall, Dylan is staring towards the door and his eyes meet with the green lizard.
Without being able to resist Dylan's skin begins to change from the fleshy color to a grey stone color. The power of the basilisk is to turn whomever looks into it's eyes into stone. Based on the fact that I looked at one in the eyes it must have to activate the ability. I tense up as I realize the actual strength of the basilisk and I warn Maddy not to turn around.
"Thank you for your err- mild assistance in suppressing this foe. This one is a bane on the existence of all lizards and must be dealt with accordingly. While we cannot keep him here we will send him to a secure prison where he will remain until it is believed he has been adequately re-educated." A group of basilisks move towards Dylan and carry off his petrified body.
"We appreciate your hospitality in allowing us to stay here, but on account of the vile nature of my former companion we should move on while some day light remains." I bow my head towards the basilisk chief and pull Maddy out of the area.
"But, the lizards." She makes a heartrendingly upset face towards me while speaking in a higher voice. I can't allow her to remain here though because I don't know that it's entirely safe.
"Sorry, but after what happened I don't know that the basilisks won't attack us. As such I belief it is now a good time to return to the tower for a while." We don't need to worry about teleporting Dylan with us anymore so returning to the tower is the best choice.

The two of us cast [Tower Return] to return to the gateway directory. We wasted a lot of time trying to get Dylan to a place without guards, but that failed miserably.
"Welcome back Magia Corvus, Raven. Did you fair well in your travels?" Erz floats towards us and begins to make conversation.
"Well not really, I have a question for you Erz. Is it possible for us to teleport others here?" Maddy immediately leaves the room to go do something with the shadowbirds while I chat with Erz.
"I apologize, but that is not currently possible. Due to the nature of the [Tower Return] only those who have been here can use it. If you were to construct some sort of magical item I could link it here, but the items required aren't here and would be difficult to obtain."
"I see, thank you anyway." I wave to the floating face orb and head down to the first floor library.
After a few minutes of walking down the stairs I cover an incredible distance due to the spatial magic in the tower.
"Excuse me! Nez!" I call to the librarian to get some assistance.
"Greetings Magia Corvus. How may I be of service to you?" The floating stones form to slightly resemble a person.
"Yes, I was wondering what kind of books do you have here. The selection is enormous so I assume the variety must be spectacular as well." I praise the library in hopes to form a stronger relationship with the librarian.
"The largest part of our library are books on theory and skill books. A few books on fiction have been kept and we also house a large number of historical books. May I ask what kind you are currently seeking?"
"Yes, I was hoping for some books that can assist me in the use of magic." While my nature manipulation is good I still have not nearly mastered it, and getting a few ideas would not be a bad thing.
"Yes that is quite easy, is there any type of magic that you would like in particular?"
"Ah yes, elemental magic please."
"Easily done." Large strings of magic extend out from Nez and begin pulling books from the shelves. Having Nez grab the books is many times faster than I would be, as they are able to grab every single one at once. In a matter of seconds the books are laid in front of me. I thank Nez after picking them up and heading to the workshop.

Blue Hills
Nothing had ever felt quite right for Alexander Adamson. He'd worked his way up to a job he could tolerate, a few casual friends, and even a nice little apartment that he could call his own, though it really wasn't. The problem was that none of it was satisfying. It was as though he were going through the motions of a life, rather than having one of his own. Of course, it didn't exactly feel right when he woke up in a strange bed in the middle of nowhere. Nor when he was told that he was now the proud owner and operator of a local farm. A farm that had belonged to a late uncle he'd never known. But with the first train out of town a full 'season' away, he had plenty of time to get used to the idea. Plenty of time, perhaps, to even get to like the strange little town of Blue Hills. I have a discord now. Marvel at my ability to somehow still be antisocial on the other side of a screen! Back from hiatus along with my other fiction. Chapters are on a Thurs/Sun schedule until book 3 of that fiction is completed, at which point I'll be updating this daily. At which point uh.... I dunno what I'm going to do.

Raak
James was in his 30's when his death came suddenly, not that he minded much, as life was seeming to drag on. His story, however, did not end with his death. As a point of fact, it had only just begun. This will be my first work, so please by all means comment with any errors I may have made. Suggestions for the story (which may or may not be used). This is a litrpg and a bit of a power fantasy, so be warned the protagonist will be pretty OP eventually.

Abyssal Fortress girl in another world
Because of an accident, God ended up sending some people to another world. As with all bad luck, our protagonist is sent to another realm/dimensions and consequently dies by being crushed under severepressure. After giving an apology, god, reincarnates our protagonist in that realm as a creature with some cheat/boon. Without any choice, our protagonist reincarnates as a monster in another world. After reading many LitRPG novels, I decided to write my own as well. English is not my native language so forgive me for my mistakes and I hope to improve as I go.
