《New Escape》New Escape Chapter Twenty Six

I stare off into the ridiculous site before me, this is just a castle floating in space. 'Wait a second, shouldn't this be a vacuum?'
I look towards Esmir who seems to understand my confusion. "No need to worry, the area is surrounded by a magical barrier that acts as an artificial atmosphere, and within the workshop is a machine that refreshes the air."
"Oh that's incredible! What kind of place is Heaven's Workshop?"
"While I have never been in Heaven's Workshop I have been stuck guarding here for centuries, based off of the information I have gathered from the people trying to raid it I would say it is the most valuable location, sought after by many. Even though no one has been inside of the workshop, at least through this door, many people have heard rumors which have spread for a very long time."
"Do you know how much treasure is inside?" As expected Maddy is still stuck on the idea of treasure lying inside of this tower, this woman is a total treasure fiend.
"As I said I do not know whether there is treasure inside, as I have never been inside before, but based on the rumors there should be quite a few treasures." The serpent nods it's head seeming to recall something.
Maddy seems cheerful as we approach the walled tower, even I become enthusiastic to see what kind of treasures dwell within this tall tower. The closer we get to the tower the more massive it seems, it's height could not be fully appreciated from a distance, it can't even be appreciated here near the base.
"This is astounding, truly astounding." The size is comparable to that of a skyscraper, yet it's shape appears unsound. It looks as though it would topple over at any time like a jenga tower. Different portions of the tower extend from the side and and the center of gravity seems rather unstable.

Nearing the walls the gate opens automatically. The courtyard of the tower is well lit by glowing orbs of light hovering over small stone pedestals. Stone walk ways follow the walls and head towards the tower splitting the courtyard into four sections. between the walk ways are a number of plants, primarily a pale blue grass almost like snow. Surprisingly the scent of the courtyard is non-existent, I bend down and brush my hand through the grass. As my hand wafts through the grass white particles float through the air filling my nostrils with a scent of licorice.
"This place is most certainly peculiar." I nod my head as I mentally note down my observations. I quickly fall behind the rest of the group as they approach the tower doors. Speeding up I hastily catch up and push through the surprisingly light wooden doors. Initially blinded by the bright lights within the tower my eyes begin to focus. Books, tons and tons of books. This sight squashes either of the previous two libraries I previously witnessed. The circular walls lined with books up to unknown heights. The ceiling is so high it is impossible to see from here, there may not even be a ceiling. Various large stones lay stuck between the sand colored stone bricks, each stone with identical exquisite engravings. I question their function but before I can get a word out a similar stone embedded in the wall begins to glow.
"Welcome to the library of Heaven's Workshop. My name is Nez, I have been tasked as the Tower's librarian. If you have any questions please ask, any book you may seek can be found here, at minimum in the form of a copy." After fully forming Nez resembles no living creature, but rather a multitude of stones connected only through magical energy floating near each other in the form of a person.

"Greetings Nez, my name is Raven, I seek the location of the treasure." Maddy walks ahead of our large group seeking treasure.
"I apologize for the inconvenience, but as a librarian I can only access the information on the library, if you seek information on things other than books then the other floor guardians must be contacted."
"Oh that's alright, we are going to do some exploring, but I will return here later seeking your assistance." I jump in front of Maddy before she can complain and point towards a door that most likely leads to a staircase. Maddy sighs but moves to the door rather speedily. I reluctantly follow while staring back at the vast library.
"Ahhh I want- so many books- I need to read." I stammer out a few sentences before getting pulled along.
After a few brief steps we somehow arrive in the next section.
"Wasn't this second section at the minimum a hundred feet high? We have only been walking up a few feet yet we are somehow already here." I voice my confusion, but I am ignored by Maddy who is rushing to find treasure. She opens the door quickly, but a look of disappointment spreads across her face.
"What is it?" I ask her a question as she is blocking the way.
"It's just food." Maddy's tone is clearly depressed as there has not been even an ounce of treasure.
"Shouldn't that make you happy? What's wrong with food?"
"I want treasure!" The lack of treasure seems to be clearly taking a toll on her mental state.
"Don't worry, there will surely be treasure at a higher level." Rather than going into the room we continue up the winding staircase. "Look, here's another door." I push open the door, yet there is no treasure here either. This room is a large circular room with hallways jutting out of the room. Also along the wall are various doors so I go to open one.
"Bedrooms." Though it is a bedroom the room behind the door is closer to an apartment. From what I see there is a bathroom, a living room and an actual bedroom off to the side. It seems to lack a kitchen due to the fact that there is a commons area down a level.
"Let's continue, hopefully we will find treasure soon." I point up and we immediately leave the housing area.

One of the passengers, Viktor, protests this, saying that the people of the new world should be entitled to find their own path in life without immortal beings ruling over them. The Highest One then ask Viktor if he really has that much faith in humanity, and after Viktor answer positively he made him into the God of Hell, tasked with redeeming the souls of the damned, as a way to test Viktor's faith in humanity...
