Chapter 22: Marytus POV pt. 1/2
I am not sure what’s going on. I am still in shocked of what I heard and saw. I still cannot believe that Roshturn died. Roshturn can’t have died, my common sense tried to tell me, but then Roshturn was fighting a bear. Bears are powerful, but how come Roshturn didn’t just take over its mind with mind-illusionary magic? It was kind of weird.
For me to explain how I am feeling right now, I will have to go back and explain everything from the beginning of today’s tournament. This morning when Demon, Roshturn, and I finally arrived, we were with a feeling of confidence and happiness.
We were happy that we were just like a team (both professionally ((in the tournament)) and at nighttime in the bedroom as well). We were feeling refresh. We were prepared for anything. Now, thinking back on that feeling, I realized just how unprepared we were for a death in our small knitted little group.
We were feeling powerful. With Demon at our side, there was nothing for us to be afraid of. As we got to know Demon over the couple of days we came to realized there was no magic he couldn’t use.
Demon still hesitated to dwell much about his past. He continues to remain mysterious and domineering. There was always that aura around Demon that depicted his powers, his king-like presence, but it took someone to see him use his powers to notice it.
Roshturn and I became quite the girlfriends (and I don’t mean anything weird by that!!!). We were both girls and even though we both got pleasure incessantly by Demon at about the same time, we both got along and didn’t think no less about each other. (But I must add, Roshturn was quite the maso……chist……. She really loves dirty talk as well……I was still a bit hesitant about that….)

I became somewhat of a sister figure for Roshturn. We trusted each other and knew we could count on each other in the battle field. And that’s what scares me so much. I am the one that murdered Roshturn. I may not have been the one devouring Roshturn, but Roshturn was killed and devoured because of me.
If only I went with Roshturn then none of this would have happened. I always treated Roshturn like a sister, and I just let my sister go and died. I even told her to come back in one piece, and guess what? SHE REALLY DID COME BACK IN ONE PIECE. I saw it.
When Demon was tossing the bear up and cutting it, when he laid the bear down and started to tear it open, I saw a part of Roshturn’s flesh. Just a small part like a limb (a piece, literally a piece).
I did that. I caused that. I have no reason to look Demon in the eyes. I shouldn’t have told Roshturn to come back in one piece. I am the one that brought this misfortune upon us. I should have known something like this would have happened. I should have been able to stop this.
Where was I when Roshturn was battling the bear? Where was I when Roshturn needed me the most? Where was I when Roshturn got grabbed? Where was I when Roshturn got devoured in front of Demon? Where was I? I wasn’t anywhere important.
When my friends needed me the most, I was unavailable, I was nowhere to be found. This guilt will always remain with me.
Roshturn, Demon and I finally went inside this underground maze, this tunnel like space (so large and wide, it’s amazing to think anyone could have built something like this).

When we arrived and we were all waiting for the signal to start fighting, the same signal that has been used so many times prior, a loud roar is heard instead, and all hell broke loose.
That wasn’t the roar of a tiny little cat (I love cats by the way, my specie also has flame-wearers cat, unfortunately I don’t have one in my house right now), it was the sound of a gigantic bear. Gigantic bears are really powerful, but since this is a tournament to select the three powerful, I thought I should fight the bear and give it my best shot.
I immediately attack the bear with flame magic, but my flames didn’t seem to cause the bear any damage. The bear remained strong and just look even more pissed off. The bear gave me just one angry look and went on a rampage trying to catch and grab anyone close.
We all took running or flying (since Roshturn is an expert at using wind magic). We were all running for dear old life except Demon seemed really amused.
He made a childish face at me and told me the bear would get angry and also stuck his tongue out. That really embarrassed me and truth be told, it made me feel better when I saw Demon like that.
It means the enemy isn’t too dangerous, that he can take care of it, (but it seems that Roshturn didn’t figure that out, and just thought Demon didn’t want us to worry).
Demon then suddenly got grabbed by the gigantic demonic bear. The bear was gigantic; I couldn’t see all the way at the top clearly (Since the gigantic demonic bears are huge and really tall). It looks like Demon got eaten but I wasn’t so sure. The bear looked shaken up and that’s when Roshturn worries reached its climax.
She stated she couldn’t wait anymore and needed to go and help Demon, acting as stealthy as she possibly can, so the bear won’t notice her presence.
I knew the bear would notice my presence since I am covered in flames, I knew if I went along with Roshturn, her plan wouldn’t work, but I should have persisted. I should have remained calm and states that Demon would be fine, after all he is Demon.
I should have calm her, but everything was moving so quickly. And I could hear the other demons running to the other direction, and I could sense something was out of place in the other section of this labyrinth.
I wanted to help them, so I let Roshturn go and help Demon, while I would check on the other demons running around and make sure everything is alright.
That’s how I parted with Roshturn and went to check something out…..
