《Limitless》Chapter 5 - The Kaiser Arena

"This is the observatory" Erez looked to see if everyone was paying attention" This is where we look at all the species in the world. This can be with magical beasts, or normal bests. They are both important, and no one should discredit either of them. Normal beast's bodies are used to make everyday stuff, like the chairs you are sitting on. Of course we still need a magical beast's materials to keep it sturdy. This goes the other way around for cultivators. For example, we can use magical beast cores to increase our cultivator, or increase our affinity to a specific element. However most magical beasts have a natural violent nature, making anyone who consumes their core a madman. This is where normal beasts come in, normally they are passive creatures, and so it balances out the violent nature of a magical beast. The reason for why almost no normal beasts have a violent nature, is that any that do transform into magical beasts." Erez saw the puzzled looks on the all the kids and decided to explain it in a much simpler way.
"Kids. Your parents have explained Yin and Yang to you, right?" The kids nodded their heads. "Well basically let's say just for this example, magical beasts are Yang and normal beasts are Yin. They are both necessary to life and work in harmony for humanity. When you eat a magical core, you require the core, which contains the Yang energy. You also require a normal beast's Yin energy to stabilise it, and prevent you from going insane." The kids understood this concept, but Artemis's head was formulating many theories and hypothesizes regarding this topic. Yin and Yang energy was normally something that was regarded as utter bullshit, and so no one before thought of using it in situations like this. However in everyday life, Yin and Yang was used quite frequently, and balance was needed for everyone to survive.

"Wouldn't it to be possible for Yin and Yang to exist?" Erez froze once he heard this question. This question had caused hardships for him many times in the past, and his theory was decimated in the end. He hated that question for this reason.
"No it is not possible!" Erez said this steely and decisively. This caused a chill to spread throughout Artemis's right leg, and it eventually numbed.
Erez, wanting to chain the subject, moved onto several of the luxury facilities. Time seemed to move very slowly for the kids, they really didn't care about these features.
When Erez heard a yawn coming from one of the kids, he knew he was boring the kids and decided to move onto the main attraction, The Kaiser Arena.
"This is where battlers come to fight and hone their skills. You can also place stipulations, as long as you pay a certain price of course. Deaths do occasionally happen, but that is because of the victim overestimating himself. As long as you know your own limits, you will not get seriously injured or die." This was not fully true, but Erez didn't wish to go into details regarding battle strategies or tactics.
"Can we go see some fights? Terra's entire body was shaking with excitement.
Erez, seeing this excitement, could not say no and so agreed. They walked to the arena and all the kids had smiles stuck on their faces. They had never seen a fight before, and this arena seemed to have some decent fighters.
The kids had smiles covering their faces as this was the first fight they had seen. This arena also didn't seem to be a place where any random fighters could challenge each other.
"This fight will be between two level 4 fighters. One is fire, while the other is earth." Hearing this, Terra and Artemis started gazing at each other. They were staring each other down, and because of the elements it seemed that this was a representation of which element was stronger. When they stared at each other, they blinked several times and this made the situation awkward and tensionless.

Two figures emerged from the two gates opposite each other. One was a girl that looked the same age as Wess and the others, while the other was a middle aged man. When the girl came out, Wess's eyes enlarged. Becoming that strong at the tender age of 10 was no small feat. She also was extremely beautiful, making her an extremely rare existence.
Erez jumped down from his seat towards the arena. The kids were startled when they saw this, and until Erez gave a thumbs up, were frantic.
"Make this a fair fight. State your stipulations."
"If I win, then this baldy must kill himself." The girl's nose shrivelled when talking about the man, indicating that she viewed this man as an annoyance.
"If I win, then this beauty must become my wife." When the kids heard this, they were shocked. This girl was evidently no older then they and this old man wished to take her as his bride? This was basically paedophilia, not to mention the girl's extremely good talent.
"Ok. The conditions are acceptable. The cost will be free of charge for Miss, but will cost a violet coin for the old man." A coin landed in Erez's hand and he indicated for the fight to start.
The middle aged man licked his lips and rushed towards the girl. The girl didn't react till the middle aged man was only a metre from the girl, and she only walked away. This caused the middle aged man to begin to fume.
"Looks like I'll have to teach this bitch a lesson once she becomes my wife."
Swish
"Dumbass!" This was the girl's final words before walking out of the arena. The middle aged man had fallen to the ground, three large gaping holes were sent through him. His tongue stuck out of his mouth, while his eyes became colder and colder.

8 225A Collection of Tales
This is or rather will become a collection of short stories set in the worlds of The Misplaced Dungeon and Unexpected Consequences as I am finding it difficult to avoid including some amusing ideas that would sidetrack those stories. And now also include stories from the world of And Dungeon Makes Three. Unless otherwise stated these stories happen in the background and are here because they seem to want to get out. Updating will be irregular.
8 67Rise of the Desolate Star
“The soul is a sword. The body its sheath. Adversity is the hammer, while courage is the anvil. Oh, and son? Your tears and snot, they’re just the sparks that chip away at the impurities, like dungflies off a sow’s arse.” - Kendric Farrow Ever since he could remember, young Skyle Farrow’s body and mind have been hammered relentlessly like red-hot steel against the anvil of adversity under the watchful eyes of his father. All the while, Skyle’s heart and soul have been nurtured by the enduring warmth of his loving mother. Skyle has always asked why a simple farmboy would have need for all manner of skills like hand-to-hand combat, wilderness tracking, archery, beast taming, geography, history, politics, and even embroidery! The one vital question remains unasked, however: just what are his parents preparing him for? The invasion of a demonic horde? The advent of an age of war and endless bloodshed? The dark legacy of an ancient mystical power? A desperate struggle to save the lives of those he holds dear? The end of the world? It is a good thing he never asked these questions, for the answer would have been yes - to all of them. Now Skyle must take his first steps beyond the sheltered world he has known. He has been raised strong, but is he strong enough? Welcome to a tale of friendship, love, loss and heartbreak. It chronicles the growth of a young boy into a legend whose path will shatter the very foundations of the world. Expect a rich, detailed world with vivid characters. Each will pursue their own complex agendas due to realistic motivations. The MC will be overpowered, not through liberal use of plot armor but rather the deliberate application of arduous training, clever thinking, and nurtured talent. Battles will be graphic, victories will be bittersweet, and defeat will not mean the end of the world - for time waits for no one and life goes on whether we like it or not. 8 121The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
8 124Den of Vipers
The Year is XXXX, and a deep, heavy fog sets in all over not just the planet, but the whole of the universe, sending all within into a deep, deep sleep. When they awake, all has changed, and both for the better and the worse. Everything has changed, from the new, impossibly massive planet that all now occupy to the terrain to the very rules of reality themselves. But what has changed the most are the people. It seemed as though Humanity was alone in the cosmos, but no longer, as new, monstrous races have been born from the flesh of those whom the Fog singled out. With the survivors rewarded for each altered former human they kill, along with each heroic (and villainous) act that they engage in, those who have changed are forced to run, hide, and try to fight back. But in a distant place, a single altered person stirs from her sleep as the Fog fades. With no Humans for hundreds of miles and a [Quest] that all other Altered share guiding her newly inhuman mind, the newly born serpentine but humanoid monster will have to fight for survival and dominance in a world hellbent on her death, with that violent, pathological hate coming not just from the remaining Humans.
