"So chomp, you came through with your end of the deal. I am reunited with my fellow ice-cream balls. It is now time I came through on my end. The Bubblegum Daifuku has an entire shelf to itself in that corner of the room," Mo said while indicating the direction it meant by wriggling its spherical body.

"So if you go talk to it, and it accepts you, the power of the Bubblegum Ninja Chomps of Daifuku shall be yours. We never have to cross paths again. This is goodbye, if you want it to be."

The chomp could not believe his good fortune. If all went well, soon he would acquire a new power that would help him fight the menace of the Cakebosses. Also, he had the first clue in his investigation. The Cakeboss who had attacked his little company with an army of disciplined, ruthless pies had been here! Was it solely responsible for the crisis in Cakelandia? Or was there a hierarchy of Cakebosses, reporting to some Cake Overlord?

He knew what he needed to do next. Yes, it was obvious.

"If all goes well Mo, I believe we shall meet again. I plan to retrace the path the Cakeboss took across the rooftops. If I find some mochis of your ilk that still have a chance of being saved along the way, I shall bring them back here."

"A word of warning before you approach the Bubblegum Daifuku though," said Mo as the chomp bid his farewell to the mochis on the shelf and began to leave.

"It is a grumpy old mochi. You'll have to prove your worth before chomping on it, or the consequences to your digestion might be dire."
