《1000-Hit KO》1st Skill (2)

Although golems were different from slimes, there was one similarity that Nem couldn’t deny. It was the fact that both opted to making heavy attacks, making their blows slow but painful. Nem made sure to constantly watch the golem’s movements. As soon as the golem tries to attack, Nem will be ready to dodge. Nem darted towards the lone golem like an arrow.
Before he had a chance to reach the golem, however, it took the initiative and launched the first strike. Nem, who had been carefully watching, immediately dodged the massive arm that descended upon him.
The golems were shaped similarly to humans, except 3 times as large. There were two traits that distinguished these golems from humans. Their bodies were made of stone and their arms were so long that it extended from their rocky shoulder, down to the ground below.
This long arm had been raised and practically launched at Nem. Nem could see how strong this attack was just by the way the arm split the wind as it fell. Such strength is not something Nem could face head on.
When the golem attacked, it’s torso turned a little with the attack, exposing the backside of the golem’s head. While Nem somersaulted in the air, he saw the golem’s head out of the corner of his eyes. Nem was briefly shocked when he saw that on the back of the golem’s head was the same pink sphere that the slimes had! If it was like before, striking this sphere would hurt the golem. Although he hasn’t directly hit the golem yet, Nem would wager that hitting this sphere did significantly more dmg than simply whacking it’s body.
Nem decided to try to target that pink sphere. The golem’s arms were so long that they it had launched an attack way before Nem was close enough to hit it. Using this moment to lessen the gap, Nem ran as fast as he could. Right when Nem had almost reached attacking distance, the golem spun it’s body like a top. Its massive arms, which had been lowered, extended out. Nem could hear the sound of wind splitting due to the sheer brute strength that was in those arms. Right when Nem was going to dodge, however, a golden light appeared on the elbow of the golem’s arms. This weird light was in the shape of a foot.

A very brief conflict arose inside Nem’s head as he couldn’t decide if he wanted to follow this light. Having no time to decide, Nem leapt away from the arms, instead of towards the golden light. Right when the golem stopped spinning, the back of it’s head was coincidentally facing Nem, exposing the pink sphere. Then a golden ball of light, so dazzling that it made one want to stare at it for a long time, shone on this pink sphere. It seemed that if Nem had chosen to trust the golden light earlier and jump onto the elbow, he would be in the perfect position to jump and strike the sphere.
Suddenly, a light seemed to go off in Nem’s head as he made the connection. It seemed that this golden light was the work of his new skill Observant. It didn’t just reveal someone’s weakness, but a path to attack people from, the prerequisite being that one could react fast enough to act upon the light. The foot-shaped light showed what direction to move, and the ball of light revealed the weakness! After figuring this out, another golden light suddenly appeared about 3 meters from Nem.
This time, Nem acted upon the light and jumped out onto the light. Right when his foot landed on the same spot as this foot-shaped light, then golem’s arm whizzed past Nem, striking the spot where he had just been before. A cold sweat ran down Nem’s back as he remembered not to get too careless. As the arm hit the ground with frightening force, another foot-shaped golden light appeared on the golem’s elbow.
Without hesitation, Nem jumped towards the golden light, reaching it almost as instantly as it appeared. When the golem attacked, it used so much force that the top portion of its body had been forced downwards, once again exposing the pink sphere. On the pink sphere, an especially eye-catching ball of golden light had appeared. Seeing his que to attack, Nem leapt off the golem’s arm, which happened to give him just enough leverage to reach slightly above the golem’s head. With one mighty swing of Bo Fai, Nem let gravity push him down as the spear strike hit the pink sphere, leaving a crack.

This time, the dmg indicator read “-20”! Although this skill seemed a little too OP, one has to bear in mind how fast everything happened. From the time the first golden print appeared in front of Nem to when his spear had met the pink sphere, so little time had passed that, if given the same time frame, a man would be unable to sit down and rise back up in full speed. The only reason Nem had been able to follow along with this frighteningly speedy and bizarre light, was because his reaction time was equally frightening!
Nem had no time to rest, as another light had instantly appeared right when Nem landed from the previous. With the help of the golden light, Nem had managed to dispose of this golem in 3 simple minutes in only 10 strikes! Given a golem had 200 health, with Nem’s simple 10 STR, he would’ve originally needed twice the amount to finish this golem off! After Nem had dealt the last strike, crack lines spread across the entire golem’s body as it crumbled along with the pink sphere. Left in the rubble, as loot, was the same pink sphere shard that Nem had found from the slimes.
Picking up the pink sphere, Nem held it in his hands and examined it. A curve started to form upwards on Nem’s face as he put away the pink shard. A massacre would surely follow.

Ætla Verǫld
AV Online was just a flash in the pan—a harsh, experimental land which lost most of its players in mere weeks. Only the dedicated few remained, carving out their destinies in corners of the vast abandoned world. Lily Quinn wasn't one of them. With a career worth millions in the esports world, she didn't have time for a game like Avo—but when an exclusive beta test for the new version showed up on her doorstep, she couldn't say no… as much as she wanted to. Literally hooked into the simulation, Lily reluctantly entered a world beyond anything she'd ever dreamed of. Accompanied by seven other beta testers desperate to save their beloved game, Lily dives into a vibrant, beautiful world, where mystery and adventure waits around every corner. Despite her reservations, Lily finds a joyful escape in Avo, shattering her cold, hollow reality. It was just a game though… until the group discovered they couldn't log out. Trapped in a game with no rules, and surrounded by cutthroat players eager to kill for a quick windfall, Lily and her ragged band have no choice but to fight their way out, or die in a game that has turned all too real. Hi there! I'm setting off on yet another adventure, come join me :3 Unusually for me, there's only one perspective this time, and it's quite a bit more action-oriented than I usually write. Don't worry, though: everything's still as character-driven as always, and I never get tired of writing dialogue. Just to acknowledge it up front: this story is heavily inspired by EVE Online and the many stories generated by that world. However, since this is a fantasy setting, not sci-fi, don't expect any real parallels. Chapter publish rate for this one will be whenever I write them, as with Epilogue. I don't expect to move as fast here though, since it's not for NaNo. The plan is chapters somewhere in the 4k-5k range, and hopefully frequently. The Last Science takes priority as always though. Special thanks to Reaver and Ace Arriande for pushing me to get this going, and to all my fellow writers whom I've stolen from been inspired by. You're all wonderful people and I love you Quick reminder: Patrons get to read ahead of what's published! Also, try my other works: The Last Science — A Tale of Modern Magic Epilogue — A Post-Fantasy Psychodrama What are you still doing on the synopsis? Get to reading! Cosmic Bulldozing Team
"Welcome to the Cosmic Bulldozing Team! CBT for short... references to any other acronyms are purely coincidental." Breve has one exceptional gift: an inborn potential for Resurrection magic. The cost? Every other healing spell she casts is absolutely paltry in comparison to the rest of her race, making her family outcasts within her society. That potential alone, however, classes Breve as a Rank A Healer. By what metric? Well, by the crazy elf lady who’s about to destroy her planet. Wait, what? Here's the low-down: her planet has been targeted by the Cosmic Bulldozing Team, which, as their name suggests, operates in the apparently lucrative business of destroying planets. This comes with the unfortunate side-effect of also murdering everyone who lives there. And Breve would’ve been killed, too, if she hasn’t unintentionally passed their audition for a new healer. Unwillingly saved by the people who just annihilated everything Breve ever knew and loved, she’s dragged into a massive spaceship before, without a moment’s reprieve, being assigned missions to sally forth and commit the same atrocities on other planets. And with Breve's home lying in a pile of celestial bedrock, it seems that cooperating is the only option. And she will cooperate, or so help her, they'll send her back whence she came: into the void of space, where the smashed rubble of her planet now drifts along. "Buckle in, rookie: you've got some planetary destruction ahead of you." (Updates every 2 days.)
