《Law of God (Book 1)》Chapter Three

It wasn't until about two thirty in the morning, when I received a phone call from the police. This one police officer asked me if he could speak with me, and I was still pretty much out of it, due to being tired. What was Jacob doing in the woods? Until I had gotten into my car and left home.

I was immediately driving on my way to a crime scene. I saw the police, and an ambulance, and Jacob looked like he was being questioned by one of the cops. I parked my car in a rush, I got out of it and rushed up to Jacob.

"Jacob, hey, what's going on?" I asked. Jacob just looked at me stammering and I turned my head, noticing a dead body being taken into this vehicle, and I turned back facing Jacob and asked him one last time what happened.

Jacob was still pretty much stammering, and I was telling him that he can pretty much tell me anything. Jacob murmured and he turned to hug me. He began to cry. "It's okay, it's alright, you're okay." I shushed Jacob, politely.

Detective Sailor was assigned to this, he walked up to me, and asked me if he could talk to Jacob? I never really liked Detective Sailor, I don't know what he has against me.

I didn't know it was Izza Miller who was the one who was murdered.

Jacob sighed, as I was standing next to him, just trying to comfort him.

Until about thirty minutes later, Jacob and I we're headed home, and I was driving just thinking about how Jacob discovered his girlfriend being brutally murdered.

Jacob was looking out the window, and it was late at night still.

I had walked into the bedroom with Jacob, and he went straight into his bed. He lied underneath the covers, and I pulled the blankets towards him. I sighed, just walking my way back out of the bedroom and I rubbed my eyes since I was still pretty tired.

When the next morning arrived, I had left for work. Jacob was at school and I had walked my way into my office. Until I was assigned another case, and I couldn't get my mind off of last night. I sat down in my chair, and I sighed. Jacob was on his way to class, until people noticed him. They were talking behind his back, and Jacob just ignored it.

Once I was sitting in the middle of another trial, my client, Hannah was sitting next to me. I was worried about what happened last night, and how Jacob was handling the situation. Hannah Rifle was arrested for the murder of her parents.

She told the police a lie, and lied to the detectives and pretty much the law itself. Hannah seems like a very sweet girl, who had just been through a lot lately. I didn't know how to make her feel like she was a good friend to me. Ever since I met her, she looked absolutely terrified of what she had done to her parents.

Jacob had come out of the classroom, and someone who walked passed him called him a geek. Jacob has never been bullied in his entire life. He has David who was always supportive of Jacob.

I had walked my way out of the courtroom after the final trial had ended. Hannah was found guilty on three counts of murder. She was sentenced to die by lethal injection, and I didn't give the justice I promised Hannah that I would give her.

I felt really guilty about having to lie to a client that I would do anything to protect her. It didn't seem like the jury would accept the fact Hannah was a good person. As I just stood in front of the doors, more people were coming out of the courtroom. I took a deep breath and sighed, and I went straight to my office.

"Yum, yum," Jacob said, eating his food.

I had ordered Chinese, since pretty much I would order take out almost every other night. I knew I had to keep up with my budget. I was eating my rice from the container with a pair of chopsticks.

I have worked as an attorney since I was twenty three years old. I am now twenty six, so I have been an attorney for about three years so far. It's not easy working as a public defender, and all the clients I have met are good. Pretty much I get a good relationship with my clients; I treat them as their own family members.

It was like for Hannah, she was definitely one of my closest friends. After the last trial, I knew all along that Hannah was responsible for the murder of her parents.

"How's your dinner?" I asked, Jacob. Jacob can't have some type of certain foods, so I just plan out a meal for him, he basically eats fruits and veggies and certain soy and gluten free food. Jacob was enjoying his meal, and I understood, shaking my head. I leaned back against my chair, and I sighed, scratching my head a little.
