Chapter-20 The Demon Slayer

Ira and Yukina were surrounded by the enemies from all the directions, still they were fighting against all the odds holding their head high above.

One after another sword strikes, in defence in offence, non-stop Ira had faced countless strong and skilled opponent but all of them didn’t even compared to the skill of these group of mercenaries, they are fast skilled and well-co-ordinated.

The assassin in the group who is a wind mastered elementist, approached Ira tried to hit him with his sword following his instinct but it was completely sword simply passed through his body and then he expanded his body and blocked Ira’s vision by forcing him to close his eyes against the strong winds which were coming out of body, taking advantage of this situation two of the mercenaries ran their swords from Ira’s body, at that moment Ira’s eyes opened wide, he screamed in pain, his belly was cut open with two sharp sword, following it he received a kick on his chest which sent him flying to one of the structure around, Ira’s back hit the structure and he spit out blood from his mouth.

His eyes were filled with tears and he wasn’t able to see anything because of that, he just saw a faint image of two men moving towards him at full speed, he tried to move away but it was useless he knew, he couldn’t move in this state. ‘Just two minutes, just two bloody minutes and I will heal completely, damn, just two minutes.’ He cursed his own condition, his body was feeling weak from all that blood loss and he was paralysed from the pain to the point where he couldn’t do anything for him.

He just closed his eyes, he didn’t wanted to face his own end, which never came with a screams of few people he got power to reopen his eyes to see the entire condition, the tables turned in an instant all the mercenaries except the elementist were killed, blood was flowing all over the place, the landscape of the entire place had been changed all the land mark were removed and changed to a spiky dead pool where two women were playing bloody game of death.

“You are kind of disappointing, you were beaten so easily, I think I need to train you even harder.”—Gracel

“Gracel, when did you get here?”—Ira

“When you were on verge of death.”—Gracel

“Don’t talk much you don’t have enough energy, just close your eyes and it will get over before you know it.”—Yukina

“Yes, I hope for that.”—Ira, Ira closes his eyes again for dreaming of a bright future, his wounds have already started healing soon the wound will close up but his weakness from the blood loss can only be healed from resting.

The assassin sat down on a higher spot and spoke “So, you both really think that you can do kill me, since the start of fight no one was able to put even a scratch on me.”

“Don’t think so high of you, you are just a mere elementist don’t think of yourself invincible.”—Gracel

“I know I’m not invincible, but who among you can use Emperor’s will.”—Assassin

Upon hearing him so confident and high, both the girls became speechless, they didn’t have any word to say to him.

“Like I said, the only way to fight an elementist is Emperor’s will and no one among you is capable of using it and still you think you can beat me, don’t make me laugh.”—Assassin

“So, how about I make you feel miserable.” A cold and shivering sensation flow through assassin’s spine, he turned behind to look at the one who was speaking such cold words with that dark aura around him, he saw Ryler standing right behind him, for some reason Ryler was looking so furious that he was actually shaking from fear, the human inside him was saying be afraid of this being who is standing behind you, you are just pray and he is predator.

Still he summoned a little amount of courage in him and moved his sword aiming at Ryler’s head but it was a failed attempt, before his blade could reach Ryler, he was already sealed within a thick layer of ice, a huge crystal of ice was created around his body, dark purple coloured ice looked completely unnatural, but the biggest question was what kind of ice can seal storm within it? The assassin was not able to move even single bit, it was like he was not even struggling to get out of it, and he had already accepted his faith and surrendered.

“Oye Ryler, where is Harold.”—Gracel

“Sir, might still be busy with some important matter Mam.”—Ryler

“Is there anything you want to report?”—Gracel

“Yes, apparently it looks safe to assume that Aries has actually connections with Soberian trinity.”—Ryler

“So, Clare was right on spot.”—Yukina

“How, can you say that for sure?”—Gracel

“During our investigation, we came across some demons who were directly under command of one of the four demon generals Euclid.”—Harold

“So, there is no room for doubt now, what do we do next?”—Yukina

“I don’t have a clue what our next step could be?”—Gracel

“Sir Harold, might not take that long to arrive for aid.”—Ryler

“His arrival doesn’t matter anymore, we need to forfeit our plan, Ira is barely moving and I have also exhausted a big portion of my magic, we won’t be able to teleport this entire place.”—Gracel

“So, what we do next?”—Yukina

“We need to give Ira about five minutes to recover, then we will charge straight in and take the celestial stone.”—Gracel

“Should we really take such a risk?”—Ryler

“We will take it, we have been doing this for years.”—Yukina

“But we are up against demons?”—Ryler

“So, what I also want to do some demon hunting.”—Ira

Ira stood back to his feet, his wound have already closed up, and just a scar in cross shape remains at the place where he was cut.

“So you are up again I thought you fell asleep.”—Gracel

“No, I was just recovering some power to fight back.”—Ira

“Don’t take it as a joke Demons aren’t weak creatures.”—Ryler

“Nor me, I’m also fairly inhuman if you look at me properly.”—Ira

As it was decided the revolutionary army took their chances for having their hands on celestial stone, the small warehouse in which celestial stone was hidden was highly secured, all over the place demons wearing the face of human were guarding the place, as per the new plan, Ira and Gracel were supposed to kill the demons one after another by stabbing them from behind, while Ryler and Yukina will charge from forward.

Ira teleported himself behind the demon, his heart was at his throat about to come out, for some reason he was feeling strange, he was actually scared from even charging demons from behind, it was a human instinct which prevent him from approaching a demon, he had done many tough jobs, it was not different from them, but just due to presence of a demon it became even harder, Ira slowly approached him from behind and in an instant he chopped his head-off, he was breathing heavily and his eyes were filled with amazement he couldn’t even imagine himself killing a being like it, though it was easy but his fear made it hard.

“What are you doing?”—Gracel

Gracel came from behind and spank on his head, he came out of the shock and turned behind to look.

“So, it’s just you.”—Ira

“Why are you slacking, you just killed a single demon and in mean time I killed around 30.”—Gracel

“Sorry, for some reason I was hesitating to approach them, there was something definitely wrong with me.”—Ira

“No, there was nothing wrong with you, you were scared from approaching a demon that means you are very much human, it is an basic instinct of humans to be scared of a demon, I guess you never faced them before so you didn’t knew.”—Gracel

“Ok, guess I’m human after all.”—Ira

“Now, we just need to wait for Ryler and Yukina to make their move.”—Gracel

AS they talk about this Ryler and Yukina were already facing other demons with all their might, with Ryler absolute zero ice and Yukina ability to use all the elements in her surrounding, have charged straight into the enemy territory, no demon was able to stop them and they reached their destination.

They didn’t have to break their breath to reach at the front of the building.

“It was quite easy, where are the big guns whom you were sensing Ryler.”—Yukina

“They are here and they are coming outside.”—Ryler

As he spoke those words two demons walked out of the building, looking at them Yukina lost her senses, her eyes were wide open by sensing their presence, just by looking at them she knew that they are no ordinary demons they were in a completely different league from others, they both might look like humans who were wearing white clothes but in reality they were beings of incredible power whose existence was like any human.

“They are the one.”—Ryler

One of the demon was having a moderate built and his height was around 7 feet, he was holding a huge battle axe which was about same size as him, spoke to the other demon who also had a decent built and height of 6 feet “They don’t look that tough, I don’t think you need to even move Asura.”

“As you wish Gilf.”—Asura

Gilf the taller demon moved towards Ryler and Yukina in full confidence and stood some feet away from them and spoke “So bad, you poor things are going to die.”

Ryler who was not paying any attention to Gilf looked towards him for a second and spoke “Move aside, small flee, I’m only interested in you.” Ryler then shifted his gaze towards Asura and started walking towards him.

GIlf who was insulted so badly lost his temper and attacked ryler while shouting, but ryler froze him in a thick layer of ice and continued moving forward, Asura who witnessed ryler power changed his posture, he became alert and got ready to battle, but it looks like he needs to wait longer, Gilf got free from the ice with his power and with his axe he stabbed Ryler, his axe ran through Ryler abdomen part and got stuck there.

“So, you were just this strong, quite weak for someone acting so mighty.”—Gilf

Ryler put his hand on the axe and spoke “So are quite persistent, looks like I will have to deal with you first.”—Ryler

Gilf was amazed with Ryler attitude for someone so near to death he was pretty confident, Gilf looked down where he stabbed Ryler and saw that there was no blood flowing through Ryler body and then he realized.

“You bastard you are an elementist.”—Gilf

“Yes indeed I am.”—Ryler

Gilf who knew that physical attacks are ineffective against elementist changed his strategy, he made a yellow sphere of demonic magic appear in his other hand and attacked Ryler, he knew that human are vulnerable against Demonic magic, whether they are elementist or not they would be poisoned by Demonic magic.

Ryler simply took Gilf attack head on, an explosion occurred at Ryler head and smoke came out of Ryler body, Gilf retreated after the attack he made some distance between him and Ryler was continuously looking at Ryler, he knew he was still standing tall, it wasn’t enough to take him down, the smoke slowly cleared and he saw Ryler completely unharmed, he wasn’t even poisoned nor he got any physical damage, while Gilf hand which he used to attack Ryler was frozen.

“Gilf stop this at ones.”—Asura

“Why should I, I can easily take down a human.”—Gilf

“You should, if you still didn’t recognized who this man is.”—Asura

Asura who was standing in the side line, decided to make his move he recognised that Ryler was no normal human and was a great threat to them, so he decided to step in and fight Ryler on his own, he put his first step on the ground and Ira and Gracel teleported around him, both of them pull their sword and attacked Asura without any second thought, but Asura easily held their swords in his hands, Ira was attacking from behind while Gracel from front and still he was able to block both of them, he put a little force and threw both of them towards Ryler and Yukina.

Both of them didn’t even realized when they were blocked and threw back like this, when they hit the ground for the tenth time in the fall they actually recognised that what happened to them, Asura simply overpowered them, and he was so fast that both Ira and Gracel couldn’t match to them.

“It looks like we have more stock here.”—Asura

Asura pointed his fore-finger towards the revolutionary army, a medium sized green demonic energy sphere appeared on his finger and he released it, a huge explosion occurred in the vicinity which could be seen from miles away.

It took some time for the explosion too settle, but soon everything was cleared, though the explosion was huge miraculously the whole revolutionary army was unharmed, they didn’t had even a slightest of scratch on their body, except Ryler, it was hard to tell whether he was harmed or not, but for a fact he was no longer normal.

Half of Ryler body was covered with some body arts which looked like some sort of curse inscribed upon him, his eyes turned red, his fists were now claws to tear his enemy apart, his hair were replaced by ice spikes. Even aura around him changed and became similar to that of a Demon, it made throat of all humans around him dry, and he was now incantation of evil himself.

“So, my assumption was correct you are a Demon Slayer.”--Asura
