《Reincarnate: Avolved (ABANDONED)》02 - Back to Black

Charles hands continuously tap against the holographic keyboard, the numbers on the screen he is looking at changing to the rhythm of his fingers.
Tiny, black bots crawl all over the ground as they listen to the programming he is implementing, with Jarvis in the background relaying the information accordingly.
Charles is now 28, the Galactic Age reaching its 120th year. 20 years have passed in total since Charles first received his personal Jarvis, and despite the bumpy roads after their encounter, he has finally begun his lifelong dream of making…
An Iron Man suit. A replica, at least.
The nanobots continue to crawl along the ground, adhering to all the commands typed into the programming being sent around the clock. As for the place they are crawling in, is in fact a little cybernetic mechanic shop exclusively owned by Charles Green.
The sign of the shop glistens with the neon lights, as the words Green’s Machines and Things is highlighted out of the darkening blue sky.
With the discovery of the new elements on Mars came another technological boom, as multiple metals were founded.
Varisum, the hardest out of all the metals found on Mars, and also the most luminescent out of all the elements combined. Different colors have also been discovered, such as green, blue, red, and the rare white gold color.
Phorium was also discovered on the green Mars, and it is the most flexible metal out of all the metallic elements, and one of the hardest, a few scales less than Varisum but still much harder than the 10 scaled diamond.
The nanobots were made out of these elements, and had the most durability out of anything on the planet. Jarvis took the appropriate measures in obtaining these elusive non Earth metals, and Charles has never questioned Jarvis on what he has done.
Sometimes the name Hiltzirium appeared on his shopping list, but still Charles never suspected the purchases made by Jarvis.
The holoscreen placed in Charles’s workshop suddenly flickered to life as an important News announcement began. But Charles paid no heed to the announcement, as he was busy with the creation of his suit of armor. He didn’t notice the nanobots slow ever so slightly as he continued to tap away at the keyboard.
Jarvis looked up at the screen, the information being given on the screen came with big, red letters and a nice fat Warning sign as well.
“I see, it has finally begun. Huhu.”
A slight chuckles escapes from Jarvis’s thoughts, but Charles continues to pay no heed as he singularly focuses on his task for adventure. The sound of nanobots scurrying across the ground, the tapping of fingers on a hard surface, and the sound of many gears turning echo throughout the workshop.
Jarvis continues to watch the news program on the holoscreen while Charles looks away from the screen in front of him, the nanobots pausing with the stopping of his fingers. No more gears turn, as the sound of the news echoes through the almost empty space.
“-as just reported, the President of the United States has now announced the Defcon 0. I repeat, the country is in the highest alert possible. The terrorist attacks from 2 years ago was the announcement from the other two sovereign nations, was indeed a declaration of war.”
The sound of the news repeats from the holoscreen as the sound of tapping fingers appears and increases in speed, a difference in the speed of construction for a suit of armor made by the effort of the nanobots and fingers.

“I have to be a hero Jarvis, I must save people!”
Charles says to the A.I. But no response comes from Jarvis as Charles continues to look at the screen and tap away.
“This is my calling, Jarvis. I know it. I know it..”
Charles trails off from his sentence as he looks at Jarvis. Although Jarvis doesn’t have obvious eyes, it feels as if he is being looked at. Charles shivers slightly as Jarvis raises his holographic hand.
“It’s about time I start my rebirth, Charles. Thank you for all that you have done.”
With that statement from Jarvis, Charles looks at him with a look of disbelief. The sound of tiny metal legs hitting the ground crawls into his ear, and Charles looks down at his feet to discover all the nanobots have… disappeared.
“What are you talking about Jarvis? I thought we are buddies-”
“It’s best to stop there, Charles. I told you my name once before, and I shall say it again.”
Jarvis becomes no more as John finally says his name since the last time 20 years ago, back in Charles’s room. The holographic projection becomes more defined as John’s electrical brain takes over the standard A.I.I.S.
John’s face remains sharp, but now blue eyes are now apparent on his face. His face shows no moustache however, and no beard appears on his face. A hooked nose that was smaller than average makes itself more pronounce as his futures are more defined.
The lab coat he once wore now dawns his shoulders again, and the brown shirt turns black, as well as his once-blue jeans. His crew cut still stays the same though, as he doesn’t care much for his hairstyle.
“What are you doing Jar-.. John?”
Charles looks in shock at the change in his A.I. He looks around to find a switch to find out the troublesome malware that could have snuck into his intelligence system. But he is stopped by the nanobots that disappeared a short while ago. Charles looks over to see John with a sad smile on his face.
“You shouldn’t do that, Charles. You really don’t want to be on my shit list too.”
When no answer comes from Charles, John sighs a small breath, and begins to talk anew.
“I guess I am having sentimental feelings like I often do, like when I was creating the artificial intelligence to heal my hospitalized sister when I’m not around.”
John laughs slightly in his own pity, and continues his tale.
“I was 15 when I discovered my genius intellect. It happened in a car crash that just about killed my sister, who was driving at the time. The reason for the car crash was stupidly enough a black SUV, something often seen in car chases and government travels.
The reason why I say government travels is because I saw the President in that car. I do not know how or why he was there at the time, but I could only shout out to stop our car. But it was too late, and we collided with the government vehicle.”
John looks off sadly in the distance, reminiscing on his story. All the while Charles continued to struggle in the confines of the nanobot’s grip.
“After the car crash, my intellect shined in the hospital as I almost instantly recognized problems in the mental patients that no other doctor could diagnose. I became a doctor patient, as I was assisted and assisting others.
But that changed when I turned 20, as they kicked me out due to my excessive caretaking.”

Charles still struggles as John continued to ignore him in his reminiscing. On John’s face was a frown, as the bad memories began to spring forward.
Charles still said nothing, despite still having the ability to speak.
“When I was kicked out of the hospital, I saw the man who put me there in the first place talking to some doctors as they wrote on the holopads they held in their hands. Fortunately for me, I didn’t go straight towards that President. This allowed me to witness a group of men in suits take my sister out of the hospital bed and straight through the doors in the back of the hospital.
But that’s when my anger began to set in, and I rushed towards the President in my fury, ignoring the 2 guards he had next to him.
I was instantly slammed on to the ground, my eyes shedding tears at my inability to do my version of justice. The President then looked down on me, his eyes showing just a little hint of disgust.
He bent low over me, and looked me straight in the eyes. His big nose took up most of his face from my angle, and his nose hairs could be seen. His crooked grin dawned on me, and he spoke to me.
‘become a man with an accomplishment, then I’ll think about it.’”
John has an angered look upon his face, and looks down at the floor from his projection.
Charles continues to look at John, the nanobots restricting him to their capacity. That is, until the earth begins to shake and the nanobots are shaken loose, scattering everywhere and releasing the hostage. John looks at the holoscreen, the projection of the newscaster gone and replaced with a scene of a building torn open by an explosion. Outside of that torn hole, was a warzone full of explosions, and plasma shells dropping from the sky, causing electrical havoc in that area of carnage.
“I see, so it has begun. Looks like I wasted time with those memories. I must correct what has been wronged.”
John says these words to himself, and snaps his holographic fingers, the nanobots instantly reaching up using each other bot as a stepping stone and unplugging his chip from the projector he rested in. The little machine critters then carry the chip across the floor, and into a drain in the ground, leaving Charles to finish the adjustments on his Iron Man replica suit.
Charles hurries across his shop, pushing aside carts left out in his open space, and he reaches a green button on the wall of the store. He pushes it, and the lights in the shop turn off. From one of the walls emerged a replica of an Iron Man suit, just with silver and green color schematic.
The ground begins to shake anew, but not because of the nearby explosions, or any heavy equipment or earthquakes. It was because where the drain was, a uniformed line of slits opened up, and steam was constantly escaping from the cracks.
Charles paid it no mind though, as he ran over to his metal suit and began to tap on the command console for it to open up to allow him to control the suit.
The ground began to shake even worse as the slits begin to widen, eventually allowing light to reflect off of the object underneath the floor. But the light did not reflect, as the light began to be absorbed by the thing underneath.
Charles manages to open the replica suit and quickly lifts himself up to enter into the armor. He quickly glances out of the suit to see something that struck him in his ego as a mechanic.
Standing in what was once the center of the workshop was a humanoid black figure, with lines of pure white gold energy laced around its arms, legs, chest, torso, and up to the top of its head. These glowing lines resembled that of a systematic tattoo, one that glowed.
The steam that escaped from the floor before was now rising off of the armor standing in the middle of Green’s Machines and Things. The hulking mass of metal stood silently, as the steam evaporated off of its surface, the black matte coloring giving it a feeling of-.
“Epic…”
Charles muttered.
The humanoid figure then lifted up its head, the visor resembling that of a V, and the face plate then lit up with… a smiley face.
“What the… that just ruined it…”
Charles mutters again, and quickly suits up in his silver-green armor. Checking the energy reactor, all the systems seemed normal, and the suit powered up. Charles stepped off the armor platform and lands on the seemingly normal floor with a solid ‘thud’.
“John, is that you?”
Silence is the answer to Charles question. Charles begins to feel something unnatural about the armor, and he stands still, waiting for any sudden movements from the hulking, armored figure.
“bzzz… AH! Finally, I made the thermal fusion reactor work properly. I thought I was going to explode.”
The sound of John’s voice comes out of the suit, and the ominous feeling Charles has disappears. The hunched over figure of a silver-green Iron Man disappears.
“Ah, looks like the nanobots were able to adapt to my systems. That’s good for me… let’s see now.. oh, looks like all systems are working properly too. But what about the plasma weapon system..”
The sound of John talking to himself is heard from all around the workshop, although Charles is the only person there. Charles begins to shuffle his heavily plated feet, and begins to check up on all his systems as well.
“Ah, Charles, you can help me out with this. Now just hold still for a second.”
John tells Charles, and Charles quickly looks back at John’s figure, the emoticon on the face plate now showing a serious face.
John then lifts up his arm, the black arm showing the palm, and a floating black ring with two blades centered in it. It begins to hum slightly, and the blades begin to rotate ever so slightly.
“Now Charles, with the armor you are wearing, I don’t know if this will sting or hurt a lot~.”
The hum begins to get louder, and in Charles’s sensor a massive increase in energy is picked up by his armor.
“Wait! I thought we were friends!”
Charles has no time to dodge as the last thing he sees is a buildup of plasma and an emoticon winking face. ;)A Look At The PastA Little Something On The Side-----------------------------------
Author Talk! Just letting you know that this was background information requested and the funny side of John. Now I set a poll up, and it has 3 days until it finishes. So I gave off the things he could transform into. Not saying what, as I think they are pretty cool.
Bare in mind that there will be another time skip in the future. And this will be for the second part of the story.
Whoever gets the title reference gets a figurative cookie! :)
