A normal person would have been cut open by Kira's swing. Esdeath, however, didn't panic. As she stumbled back she grabbed a sword and took a knee, angling the katana downwards.
Kira pressed on, and their blades met. He found his sword being blocked. Esdeath swiped low with her saber.
Kira stabbed his katana down, blocking the swipe and kicked Esdeath in the face. She rolled back, discarding the katana.
"You would kick a woman!?!?" She dramatically exclaimed. "You're trying to kill me. I am not a gentleman when it comes to killing people." Kira snorted.
"Well then," Esdeath stood up and went into a fencer's position. "En garde." She waited until Kira was five meters in front if her before unleashing a frenzied attack.
She swiped left, right, upwards and downwards, yet Kira managed to block them all.
Esdeath laughed. "THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!"
Kira was grinning slightly. Esdeath was a person who had duelled him once before. Both Kira and Esdeath were raised on martial arts, and the first time they clashed was fours years ago. Both were thought to be talented. Their families were friendly, yet had a fierce rivalry.
"Is that all you have?" He taunted Esdeath. "Are you mocking me?" She swiped and Kira dodged backwards. "No, obviously not."
Esdeath stepped forward, aiming for his head. Kira angled the blade horizontally above his head.
They both jumped back, wanting to see who was better. They stopped three meters away from each other, just out of sword reach.
"Reap, heaven's wheel."
Kira finally revealed his shikai. He spun the blades, hoping to confuse Esdeath. He swung upwards and as soon as he felt that Esdeath blocked he immediately switched his direction of attack.

"That is a great weapon, Kira." Esdeath complemented. "Thank you. Please die."
"No thanks." Esdeath wryly smiled as she kept blocking. She wouldn't admit it, but the unending attacks were forcing her to keep blocking and not attack. Esdeath did not like that.
She jumped back and grabbed a katana. "Now we wield the same number of blades." She laughed and attacked.
Sorry that this chapter is so short. I was rather busy and couldn't type anymore. Fortunately, I will go on half term break for a week. I won't post but I will type more chapters! Until then!
