Obito and Rin looked at Kira. "Why did you betray us?" He questioned them. Rin smirked. "For the money." She casually replied. Kira was shocked; these were the worst types of people. "So... Um. The dead bodies around, weren't these your friends?" He still hadn't relaxed his guard. "You could at least seem sad for them. And anyway, now that they're dead, isn't it just a waste?"
"Pffft." She started laughing. "The more corpses the more money we get from their bodies. That great axe over there, that's worth at least 5 silvers. We sell it and we're rich." She spread her arms. "Simple!"
'Despicable.' He tensed. "So you won't mind it if I do the same to you, right?" Suddenly Obito threw his sphere. "NOBODY IS GOING TO HARM RIN!" He started doing hand gestures rapidly.
Kira sliced the sphere in half. A foul smell hit him. 'Methane. The hell?' His question was answered when Obito breathed fire. "WHAT THE FUCK!" Kira shouted, just rolling out of the ensuing explosion.
He gripped his bladed staff and ran at them. Rin blocked his swipe with her kunai.
Clang. A metallic sound resounded on the battlefield. He swung upwards, hoping to cleave her in half. She jumped out of the way, throwing a kunai at Kira. He dodged.
He sensed Obito behind him and barley managed to block a stab. They were in stale mate, but not for long. Kira released his hand and slapped Obito. Just when he was about to slash his head off, Kira had to jump to the side. He had scratched Obito's silver headband, forming one long slash horizontally across.
"You okay?" Rin asked Obito. Nodding, Obito handed a kunai over to Rin. 'I am tired of this shit.'
He threw a throwing knife at Rin and Obito, distracting them. Immediately afterwards, he threw a bolt at both of them. Obito and Rin both blocked the knife but only Obito noticed the lightning bolt headed their way. Not caring for himself, he tackled Rin to the ground.

The lightning bolt hit Obito instead of Rin. He screamed and collapsed, but he didn't die . Kira didn't waste any time; he ran straight at them and as soon as Rin stood up, he hit her in the stomach. She stumbled, winded. Kira followed up with a high kick into her face. She flew for half a meter into the air before collapsing unconscious. He was just about to stab her when Obito suddenly tried to stab Kira. 'Pathetic.'
Obito stumbled, off balance. Without any hesitation Kira lifted his leg and brought it down, breaking Obito's knee.
He screamed in pain; his leg bent at an unnatural angle. He collapsed, but unfortunately for him, Kira didn't stop there. Kira chopped the man's arm off just below the elbow. Obito flailed in pain.
He approached Rin. He was just about to cleave her in two when he had an idea. Smiling, he grabbed Rin's throat. She didn't even try to resist; she was unconscious. Kira brought her over to Obito. "Hey Obito. Look." Rin fought through his pain and saw it: Kira was holding a sleeping Rin by the throat with his right hand in the air.
"So, I noticed that you've been trying to win her over all throughout the journey." Obito gritted his teeth in pain and confusion; where was this going?
"Well, because I'm such I nice person, I will tell you a secret. Say Obito" Kira inquired. He looked at him and smiled.
"Do you know the fastest way to a girl's heart?" Electricity danced on his left hand.
"NO! DON'T!!" Obito screamed; he knew what was about to happen.
"Chidori." Kira plunged his hand into Rin's chest, his hand emerging from the other side.
"NOOOOOO! RIN!" Obito screamed the name of his love. All in vain though.
Kira threw her corpse into the ground, approaching a sobbing Obito. His bladed staff returned to katana form. He brought it up.
Obito sniffled and realised his fate. He looked Kira straight in the eye. "At least you die like a man." Kira said, swinging it down.

Midnight Origins: Arrival
On a lush planet known as Bhar, Verun is now the leading nation in the development of the rivaled schools of Magic and Science. Having brought forth an era of peace and prosperity for themselves through the development of Magitech, The High council was eager to spread their knowledge and beliefs to the furthest reaches of the continent, with the goal of ending senseless conflicts and prioritizing advancements in Magitech and improving the quality of life. This ambition, however, is not without opposition. Most followers side with one school or another, believing it is superior in nature. This conflict dates back to the very beginning of civilization itself, where it is believed by both sides that their gods descended from the heavens, bestowing upon them the knowledge that would bring the world into a new age. And though some took great interest in their differences, others would seek to convert each other through any means necessary. That being the case, The High council, leaders of Verun, had made the necessary preparations to handle threats and attempt diplomacy between the remaining opposers. Talented volunteers were hand chosen to be among the military, tasked with protecting the nation from both internal and external threats. And although non-biological creations have improved quality of life, they are not yet capable of replacing the military. The necessary research and development for such a thing was thought to be decades away, until Councilman Eranor encountered an anomaly in his facility…
