《A virtual reality game according to a martial artist otaku》Chapter 6

Taking the helmet off, John was pretty pissed off. "Next time I meet you I will kill you!" He swore to himself. He then got dressed and went for some training.
Today was half term so he had a lot of free time. He visited places not far from his house and he went to see his relatives to have a spar with them. Once he got back home, the 24 hour limit had long passed.
Once again, Kira woke up on the altar. 'long time no see, eh?' Walking out, Kira now knew the way out. He knew his faults and wanted to improve himself. So, in next couple of hours, Kira did 100 squats, 100 press ups and did a 10km run on a hot day to improve both his body and mental attitude.
He also created a new spell. It happened accidentally, when he was thinking on how to paralyze his opponent and damage them at the same time. Then he remembered the standard RPG paralysis element: Lightning. Thus, Kira's latest skill: Lightning bolt. The spell was simple enough; lightning shot out from his hand and paralyzed his opponent. It fried wolves with two shots!
Unfortunately it cost his 30 mana so at best he could do 4 shots at a time (if you don't get how RPG games work, your mana/health increases by 10 for every point put into it). Although he had got back up to level 5, he still was not confident in beating the bear, even with the lightning bolt. Thus he trained for the next three days: 100 squats, 100 press ups and a 10km run.
His strength, stamina and agility rose to a level where he could theoretically take on multiple wolves barehanded. He did just that.
Putting his katana away into his inventory, Kira strode out into the woods, deep enough to draw the wolves out, but not far enough to draw the bear's attention. In any case, he would break a wolf's leg and throw it at the bear. When the first pack of eight wolves appeared, Kira was ready to fight.

It was a typical wolf tactic: Circle around the target, attack randomly until the enemy goes down, then they go in for the throat, killing their prey quickly. It was a sure-kill method, but their target was Kira and he was not the one to back down when something threatened him. 'Whoever strikes first, wins' Using that methodology, Kira attacked.
Lunging at the wolf in front of him, Kira grabbed the wolf by the muzzle and twisted sharply. A cry later, a wolf died. 'God damn this is realistic. Makes me almost pity them'. By now, two new wolves had lunged. Dodging the first one, Kira concussed the second wolf by hitting it with the palm of his hand. Another, clever, wolf tried to bite his ankles but failed; Kira jumped and landed on the wolf's head. 'He's now a few brain cells short.' Getting off the wolf, Kira went back a few steps to allow the remaining five wolves to think about their casualties.
Apparently not a lot of time was needed for that. Three of them immediately jumped at him. Kira threw two fireballs at the two on the sides and did something not really recommendable: He head-butted the wolf.
The two wolves on fire ran around yelping for a second or two until they just fell down, dead. The one that was hit was shaken but not dead. 'Looks as though I am not the one punch man of wolves yet. Let's try this.' He infused his hands with mana and set them alight. And although fire was coating his fists, he did not feel any pain nor lose any health. Grinning, Kira looked at the terrified wolves. "Come here, my precious exp bags!" Smiling like a madman, he jumped at them.
Less than a minute later, Kira finally ran out of mana. He killed two of the remaining three. Now it was the alpha male of the pack. The wolf was quite a bit larger than the rest of his former pack. "You'll be joining them soon." Snarling the beast howled as it rushed towards Kira. The beast was quick. When the wolf was in mid-air, Kira dodged but still lost health. 'He used his tail to attack me!' He realised. 'That clever son of a gun.' He braced himself, getting ready to counterattack.

Kira sized the wolf up. It landed gracefully and was still snarling at him. He grinned. "YOU ARE MY OPPONENT! IT IS AN HONOUR!" Although it did nothing to affect the wolf, it was something he said before a fight; be it in a street fight or martial arts tournament, and only if the opponent was strong.
Not knowing the meaning of the words, the wolf howled in response. They both charged at each other. The alpha wolf jumped, aiming at Kira's throat. Kira ducked under but grabbed the wolf's front paws. Flipping it over, he unleashed a lightning bolt into it through his hands. Yelping, the wolf bit Kira's arms. Yelling through the pain, Kira did an uppercut with his left arm. Stunned, the wolf shook its head. With his left arm controlling the wolf's lower body, his arm in the wolf's mouth and his mana drained, Kira only had one option of killing it. Bending down, he savagely tore at the throat, biting fur and flesh alike. Blood splashed on every part of his face, blinding him. Ignoring the loss of his eyesight, Kira still bit. And bit. And bit long after the wolf had died. Exhausted, Kira stood up.
Corpses surrounded him; blood covered him. He looked more like a sadistic psychopath than a martial artist otaku. *Ding*

'Well that's interesting. It's probably because I bit a wolf to death. Strange perquisites though.'
Kira had already tried putting corpses into his inventory, but it hadn't worked. Only inanimate objects could be put in. This included skins of animals, as he had found out. 'I really want to skin them, but I don't have a knife.' He had already gone camping with his family, but it involved a lot more that just sitting over the campfire singing songs. It involved hunting, skinning and eating their prey. Apparently a bear's hide is very good to keep oneself warm.
An idea. He went back to adventurer's hall to see the receptionist. "Haven't seen you in a long time. You seem to be doing fine." She remarked on his bloodied clothes. "You should've seen the other guy. By the way, is there any way to get money to buy a skinning knife?"
"Well a skinning knife costs around 30 copper coins. I see you have around 10 right? Well the way you gain money is by doing odd jobs. Over there is the job offers. Also, the way you show proof of monster subjugation is by cutting their ears. You also gain extra by bringing back body parts that the alchemist association can use in their potions."
Nodding his thanks Kira walked up to the board. There were several jobs he noticed.
1.Overthrow an evil empire by joining Nightraid. Warning: There will be casualties
2.Help Gon find his father. Reward will be given when found.
3.Monster subjugation: Kill any number of wolves and bring their teeth back as proof. For every wolf killed and brought in in good condition, 10 copper will be paid.
'Definitely not 1 or 2 as they're too long and I like living so I will go for option 3.' Kira took the job and went out of the city. 'This shouldn't be too hard, but I have to do this quickly.' Kira then went hunting.
