《Gallanor (On hiatus)》Chapter 25: Lilium

As the two groups seperated Gernam turned to his sister.
"Now back to our discussion. How did you die?" (Gernam)
Lilium let out a sigh.
"It was about 20 years ago. Little sister had asked a favor of me. She wanted me to help her establish a guild base in Razielon. The negotiations with the king went exceedingly well. In all honestly we should have realized it was too good to be true.. We had actually talked out a great deal. So long as we didn't interfere with their locals and followed their laws we were to have free reign. It went well for the first five years." (Lilium)
"What went wrong?" (Gernam)
The lich kicked open one of the cells finding two Nulguards interrogating a human. He pointed his staff at the first and the man's skin started to rot. The he formed a ball of what appeared to be a black flame and shot it at the other Nulguard. The dwarves head was blown clean off, becoming a splatter on the wall behind him. The lich jumped back to avoid getting blood on his robe. "Better avoid that one indoors." He mumbled to himself.
"The generals stormed the base. The killed non-humans left and right. Humans were captured and.... "freed" after being shown the "truth." Safe to say the non-humans were the lucky ones. The attack came out of no where. It didn't stop with the main base. The hundreds of village guild halls in the country were raided as well. I and several other guild commanders were sent to help those who were fleeing. We were successful at first but........

Lilium road on a falcon wyvern. Her sanguine armor shining in the sun. When she spotted the fleeing adventurers her heart sank. When she was sent out a few days ago the adventurers were in the thousands. Based on the size, she guessed only about one to two hundred remained. As she got above them her commanded her wyvern to dive down. As she approached the ground she noticed a lone figure on what appeared to be a horse far in the distance. The adventurers themselves were in a frenzy. Running for their lives some had stains on their shirts and robes. Most likely from vomit induced by the constant running. She landed in between the adventurers and the lone rider.

As the ride approached she noticed that what she had thought was a horse was in fact a sleipnir. A six legged horse that could reach speeds up to 140 mels* per hour. Within a few minutes he was upon her. The figure leaped off the the sleipnir and landed on his feet. His weapon was a single longsword and his armor was white chainmail. He was a head taller than Lilium and wore no helmet. His hair was long and platinum blond. He had deep blue eyes and stubble on his chin. He looked at her with disgust.
"Stand aside. I will not let those heretics free for a single vermin." (Saphiel)
With that he jumped onto his sliepnir and made to ride off, and she made no move to stop him. However the moment he passed Lilium she raised her hand. An enormous spell circle formed in front of her. A blood red beam exploded forth from the circle. Rock and earth were torn apart easily by the beam. When the man turned around his eyes widened. He didn't expect such power, even from a vampire. He was able leap off his sliepnir and out of the way just in time to dodge the attack. His mount was not so lucky.
By the time he touched the ground Lilium was already there her enormous greatsword already racing for his neck. Moving his arm fast enough to leave after images he blocked with his single longsword.
"Very well you have my attention." (Saphiel)
*1 mel= about 1 mile

Hermione Granger and The Boy-Who-Lived (OC!SI)
To Hermione Granger, the boy she met on the Hogwarts Express was Harry Potter, a nice, if odd, boy who's very likely going to get her killed, or worse expelled. To Harry Potter, the girl he met on the Hogwarts Express was Hermione Granger, a nice, overly rule-abiding girl who he'd considered to be one of the few (somewhat) reasonable people in an overrated book series he read.A book series that, against his will, has now become his life. I know right? I mean, who still writes Harry Potter fics, everybody knows the world has moved on to Worm and ASoIaF.But you know what? It's NaNoWriMo, so screw it, I'm gonna do this.Enjoy.Or don't. You know, since I can't exactly make you.Or can't I? After all, if the story turns out to be interesting then isn't that me making you like it?Huh. Food for thought. PS: this is a Harry Potter fanfic.

Legends of Balarel - A Leisurely LitRPG
Glenn Redwood has longed to become an Adventurer since he was a young boy, and has focused every waking moment on that goal since turning 14. Answering the challenge of the Gods of Balarel, he has fought Monsters, Leveled, and grown stronger. Yet the day before his 16th birthday, the day he will earn his dream or lose it forever ... the Gods have made a wager. And no mere mortal wishes to draw the attention of the Gods. ***** This is my crack at writing a leisurely LitRPG. My focus is more on telling interesting stories set in a world where people live under a MMORPG-like ruleset enforced by the Gods, and less on writing another story where the MC gets massive stat boosts every chapter before heading off to wreck the world. There will be plenty of blue tables (it’s LitRPG!) but my Adventurers are just starting out. This fic is about the journey, not the destination, so expect everyone to Level ... leisurely. Updates: M-T-W-Th. I’ll post 3000-4000 words a day, or 12000-15000 words a week. If this posting pace ends up being too much for me, I reserve the right to slow posts down a bit. Inspirations: Blessed Time (Royal Road) Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon? (Anime) Trails in the Sky (JRPG Series) MC: My MC is a genuinely good person who’s both a talented warrior and tactically savvy. He prefers to solve problems without violence but will resort to force if necessary to protect his friends or innocent people. I’m tired of stories starring anti-hero MCs facing endless doom and gloom, so I wanted to write a nice guy with an adventurous spirit who helps people in a thriving fantasy world. That’s all.
