Having stuffed himself till he's stomach was burging outward, kalm slouched back against the back support of the chair. Fully satisfied with non to complain about, he reach out for a dry straw hidden previously in between his hair and picked his teeth. ''Ahwaaaa, this is the life, hard training follow by the its weight in reward afterwards, much better then the previous world where work gave me no benefits in the end except my unjustly death.'' thought kalm as he compare his previous life and the one he is living in now.''Though i would give all these up for a chance to see Pa and Ma again.''
The change in atmosphere around kalm as he though about his deceased parents did not go unnoticed by the confused old man.'' This brat, his aura is always so inconsistent, ever fluctuating with so many different kinds emotions, did i not cook enough food to fill his appetite this time round either? and must he be so depress because of that? next time i will prepare an extra 20kg more meat, let see if he can handle that amount then''thought the old man as he mistaken the sudden arrival of kalm's sad expression for not having enough food to eat. Seeing the still depress kalm sinking even deeper into his depression, the old man decided to bring up the topic about magic.
Even since kalm was able to speak in this world's language, he began constantly pestering his grandpa blunt about the notion of magic. As every lucky modern day otaku world traveller who ever got transported into another world with magic would of cause be very interested in it.

It was akin to teen going through puberty discovering the wondrous nature of the object call Boobs and was given a chance to come into contact with it. Thus with the mention of the word magic, Kalm's previously teary eye underwent a quick transformation into that of guy on acid listening to march of the valkyries.
''Haiz, kalm the reason why i had always avoided explaining magic to you is because i myself am a martial practitioner and not a magic practitioner. Thus i do not have the qualification to teach you on stuff about magic.'' the old man signed.
'' All i know is that martial and magic practitioner both have the same tier ranking system as oppose to their totally different usage of mana. So allow me to explain the different tiers instead ''the oldman signed even more as he saw kalm's serious learning face towards magic prior to him dozing off every time he lectured kalm on martial knowledge.''Hmph this brat doesn't understand the majestic power conceal in martial practice, i must beat it into him even if i must force him'' the old man frown as he experience something closed to jealousy.
Continuing on, the old man explained that there were 9 tiers of power with 10 stages in each tier. Beginning from the lowest to the highest is the Mana condensation tier, foundation building tier, spirit forming tier, Soul acension tier, martial/magic King tier,martial/magic emperor tier,martial/magic saint tier, martial/magic Ancestor tier and lastly the Martial/magic Primordial tier. As one progresses through each stage, one would get stronger as like the levels in rpg games.
Hearing the explanation, kalm got an idea of how the power structure in this world was like but still he needed more information, Thus...
''Grandpa Blunt, how big is the differences in power between tiers.''

In responses'' Hmm, lets say 1st stage foundation building practitional will be equal to ten 10th stage mana condensation practitional. And that foundation building tier will be able to run as fast as a horse while the soul acension tier will be able to fly short distances at a time.''
Listening to the old man's lecture, kalm scarlet eyes got brighter and brighter as he anticipate one day he would like to be able to fly in the skies freely like a bird.
Losing himself in his daydream, he was shook back into attention by an unexpected surprise from his grandpa.
''Oh yes i almost forgotten all about it Hohoho, the teacher that would teach you about magic will be arriving in the next few days.''

Blood Quest - A LitRPG
Leon's family has been diagnosed with a new type of incurable blood disease. It's an absolute death sentence and when it turns aggressive, you only have a few more years of painful life left to live. His mother has just begun the last years of the disease when a person supposedly comes back from death with supernatural abilities. He talks about a choice you get after death--get an extra chance to come back to life, or die. Even with Leon's diminishing life span, he won't consider the option of going there, until he meets another survivor who had the same goal as him and succeeded. Leon has a choice to make—die now for a chance to save his mother, or die in a few years, where the disease rapidly melts his muscles from his own body. He enters a game-like world, a sort of limbo, where his ultimate goal is to climb the tower of Katastroph before his mother's time runs out. There are a few problems with this though. The tower is almost impossible to beat, if you die you won't revive, and only three people in over twenty years have actually made it back. Leon has two years to climb the tower, with the help of the few people willing to try, while Ai, the tutorial guide, makes things harder for them. ***** The story starts pretty dark but goes onto a lighter tone. Then (more) dark again. Disclaimer: This story is an experimental project and I hope to get any and all feedback you can give me. Warning: First draft. Chapters tend to be between 3400-4100 words long (about 8-11 A4-pages). Mentioning it since I've seen it in other fictions :P Sometimes they're shorter, sometimes they're longer. ******************************** CHAPTER RELEASES UPDATE: As the first "book" in the series is done, I'm going to release coming chapters somewhat sporadically, and when Writathon ends, I'll probably go back to publishing one chapter per weekend. We'll just have to wait and see! I hope you enjoy the story! I really appreciate all comments and feedback, so if you have anything to say, feel free to voice it :) ************ [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Not Another Isekai RPG Story Alternate
The story ends at Alternate Route Finale. Ch 2-2 and on can be treated as Extra Chapters. I still hadn't edited that one and it's low on priority. I may come back to it if I'm in the mood. Most of the portions of the story will NOT focus on the skills, stats, grinding or battles. More about the dialogues (or the internal monologues) and the MC interacting with the world (or glitching, if you name it.). ... With parts of his memory lost, Takeshi, a 25-year old lazy office worker was transported to a game world. Using his casual knowledge on video-game mechanics, join Takeshi's journey as he discover more about the world, his companions and himself. (only if you're interested though.) My personal review: from ch-2 on expect a lot of perversion going on. It can be pretty weird, like the MC want to be a girl and Y*ri other girls, Fut*nari folks, Traps, the mention of t*ntacle monsters and some lulzy display (like shoving a morning star up someone's b*tthole in retaliation). In here, the MC will discover new things as he kept on exploring and trying different stuff. This story will mostly be character-driven. Explanations about the world and its mechanics was kept to a minimum. The MC's on the shameless side with not much real-life common sense (maybe) and he's (probably) not righteous at all. The other characters can be pretty weird as well. It won't focus on romance. Well that's about it.

Flashback: Siren Song
The year is 1969. Yancy Lazarus—bluesman, gambler, future world-class mage and fix-it man—is just a dumb, unlucky kid serving with the 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines in Vietnam. With just a few weeks left to go until Yancy gets shipped back to the States, he’s just trying to keep his head down and avoid a body bag—no mean feat in Nam. But when his squad is tasked with conducting a routine patrol deep in enemy territory, everything goes to nine kinds of hell, and he quickly sees his chances at survival slipping away. When the radio operators start to pick up some funky, dirty ol’ blues all the way out in the backcountry, it’s a nice change of pace. At least until the men in Yancy’s squad start losing their minds, turning on each other with murderous intent as the music works its deadly power within them. Convinced it’s some kind of new psychological warfare initiative, the squad leader forces the men to push deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, obsessed with locating the music’s source. What they find, however, isn’t some new technology, but an ancient spirit awoken by the terrible war. Even worse, the music is changing Yancy too, awakening something buried inside of him. Only one thing is certain, nothing is ever going to be the same.See how it all began … *** PRAISE FOR SIREN SONG:Hunter's writing is as low-down, gritty, and insidious as the blues Yancy Lazarus loves. Just like the mysterious music drifting through the jungle toward Yancy's squad, Siren Song will get under your skin and sink its hooks into your mind. —eden Hudson, Author of Halo Bound (the Redneck Apocalypse series) *** Hey everyone, this is James Hunter. This story isn't a full length novel--its a novella length work (25K words), and is part of my Yancy Lazarus series. Its already free on Amazon, so I thought I'd post chapters here for the good folks of Royal Road. If you don't want to wait for updates or would prefer to read it on Kindle, you can pick it up for free here: https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B01066TLC0
