《Codex of Shadows》Chapter 2

“Friends, we are gathered here tonight because of what everyone here already heard earlier, although I am an Atheist and until now didn’t believe in a God, but considering latest events I have no other choice than to believe. Seven of us here will decide upon our further actions after we discuss everything among ourselves, everyone will speak in turn one by one and we won’t interrupt anyone for any reason, if you have anything to say, remember it or write it down and speak when it’s your turn. Now let’s begin, Hex, you start first and we go clockwise.” Said Nick before he sat down.
“Okay, so from what I understood, we can all choose if we want to go to another universe for a test or not, well I have my own doubts, we don’t even know what the test is, what rewards we are talking about and what punishments there are, what if we just send ourselves into death just because we were greedy for money, power or glory. I want to hear your opinions, so ill finish with this. Tragic go on…”
“Thanks Hex, and I told you not to call me that, my name is Jeff not Tragic, can you guys seriously stop with that already… Now back to the point, I talked earlier with a friend of mine, he is Muslim and he heard almost the same message we did, only difference was his Allah was talking to him instead of our God, therefore I can confirm the truth of what we heard, well at least to some degree, I honestly don’t know if there is a reason for Gods to lie to us, you know why I’m called Tragic, so I am not really a fan of risks, whatever your decision may be I will follow you guys ‘till the end of earth if I have to, that’s all I have to say, Einstein your turn.”

“I don’t have much to say, I’ll just agree with Tragic, whatever you guys choose I’ll follow, we are all together since forever, and I plan on staying like that.”
“Touching, Einstein you really touched me, I’m going to start crying now, boohoo….”
“Ted, knock it off, your turn.”
“Jeez Max you really have to get a sense of humor someday. You guys know how big of a coward I am, this time I’ll side with Tragic, I’m not fond of risks, but what scares me more than deaths is that you guys will lose sense of humor without me, so I have no other choice but go wherever you guys are, even if we are all to die, you will all die laughing!”
“Fuck you, you can go die I have no plans on doing so!”
“Mark, chill out bro, I was just joking, you are even worse than Max you goddamn warmonger, go pick a fight with someone your own size you big ape.”
“Want a fight shrimp?”
“Ted, Mark, that’s enough, it isn’t time to fight, Mark what’s your opinion?”
“Well that voice, whoever that was, said our luck and strength will be tested, hell yeah I’m going, there’s not a chance in hell I’ll miss out on a fight.”
“Didn’t expect anything different from you anyway, was foolish to even ask, guess it’s my turn then… I, I’m going…” Mumbled Max.
“Wait, what?!” Everyone screamed in unison.
“You, mister plan for everything, want to go somewhere where you don’t know anything, come here I want to see if you bumped your head or if you have a fever maybe.”
“I’m serious, you guys might not believe me, but I have some weird feeling about this, it’s like if I don’t go I will miss out on something extremely big.”

“So mister plan it all has a good feeling about this, well you guys already know the drill, let’s go get rich! Hahaha!” As Ted said that everyone exploded into laughter.
“Hey Ted, what about May?” Max suddenly remembered.
“Oh right, well she said whatever we guys decide she will respect, and she will stick with me whatever happens.
“Are you sure bro, she isn’t orphan like we are, she has parents, maybe it’s not a best idea.” Said Nick.
“Duhh, that’s what I said to her, but she wouldn’t listen to me at all, she is too stubborn sometimes…”
“If she wasn’t she probably wouldn’t be with you this long.”
“Okay guys, we have couple of hours left, please do your preparations, we meet here at midnight again, don’t bring anything valuable, bring only food, water and some necessities, that would be all.” Said Nick and then he left the room first without saying anything

Far Strider
A college student finds himself transported into a strange land with burgeoning magical powers, and is taken in by Ned Stark. Will he sink or swim in this medieval society, and will he ever get home? ====================== OC-insert without knowledge of Game of Thrones, new planeswalker. Slow power ramp. Second crossover: Star Wars (around chapter 39). ======================= As a note, I started this as a speed writing challenge to myself. The challenge was successful, and I managed 100,000+ words (as well as some character sheets in excel and such) over 10.5 days. Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.
