- Under the rain -
*SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHH*
It was raining.
Inside a dim cave, on one night without even moonlight shining -
A girl with black hair and japanese facial feature sat down, her back leaning on the cave wall.
…
No...
Perhaps "Something" that resembled a girl is more accurate.
The appearance was messy, the form was in tatters, the skin was wounded all over the place.
Even her clothes were in tatters.
Like this, at first glance nobody would recognize her as a girl.
Perhaps not even as a human.
"shhh haaa shhh haaa"
A faint breathing.
The girl was still breathing.
Inside this quiet cave where only the sound of rain was heard, "she" was alone.
In her current condition, anyone going to the cave normally wouldn’t even realize that someone was there.
…
However, right now, without a doubt, if someone stepped inside the cave, anyone would realize someone was there.
Because that girl -
her eyes aren’t "dead" yet.
Staring towards the outside from inside the cave.
With a glare that could even scare the monsters around.
Her intensity could even match a ferocious lion.
"Haa Haa"
However, her condition was another thing.
The girl was dying.
Without any treatment, she would be dead soon.
Though her spirit is intense, her body can’t keep up.
"...No"
But
"..not like ...this, I won't, I can’t.. accept it... I... can’t"
she was still alive.
Alive, to get her revenge on those who wronged her.
In order to "surpass" him.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!"
A scream.
A sound echoing from her very being.
Like a fallen star, like a death echo from a cornered animal.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!"
"LIKE HELL I’M GONNA LOSE! DAMN MOON! YOU THINK SO MIGHTY AND GREAT JUST BECAUSE YOU LOOK DOWN FROM ABOVE? HUUH? DAMN TREES! JUST BECAUSE YOU STILL ALIVE YOU LOOK SO SMUG, HUH? FUCK IT, SCREW YOURSELF!!!"

…
*Thud*
She fell.
Even her remaining energy to sit down was depleted.
Perhaps it was foolish to even scream at the moon and trees, but her patience was already broken.
However she didn't close her eyes yet.
Because she knows, if she closed her eyes -
It would be "the end".
“...”
The girl saw something at the corner of her eyes.
It was the skin of an animal.
Normally, it wouldn’t even looked edible. Even the most hungry animals probably wouldn’t eat it.
It already fossilized so much that it didn’t look any different from a stone other than the shape of the fur.
However, the girl is undeniably very hungry.
Add her tiredness, and even dirt was probably good enough for her stomach.
Thus, she ate the skin.
“munch.. gulp”
*cough cough*
She almost spat it out.
Both the appearance and taste was like stone.
However,
She didn't have the luxury to choose.
*glup*...
She swallowed it.
Just to stay alive even a second longer.
In order to not lose against anything in this world.
That girl promised to do anything necessary.
…
And finally.
She closed her eyes.
It was her first long, relaxing sleep ever since coming to this world.

Unburnt
He remembered being a better person, in another life. That was before he was reborn into a royal family of unparalleled power, and into a world that wouldn't feel out of place in a fantasy series. Seriously. There was magic and everything, it was totally whack. Self-Insert with angst, mental issues, and no knowledge of Avatar: The Last Airbender. This story doesn't belong to me.
