《How to become an evil overlord!》chapter 7: Just another cliche montage

Pov narrator (cause I can't be stuffed to do a monologue)
It's been a month in game since Drystan started the game, it's only been a week in real life but for him, it felt like forever. The kid practically lived in game, refusing to leave, claiming there is nothing outside for him.
Of course, he hasn't been wasting this time, in fact, it has been spent with an almost inhuman amount of efficiency.
Every morning, the black haired youth would wake up in the lame-named in at the crack of dawn to make poisons and potions, only after using up his herbs would he descend the stairs to eat his breakfast.
Sitting at the table, he would eat his meal with his instructor, who's name is Anne and is an old vampire, while bombarding her with questions. The little evil mastermind would then stock up on some fresh bread because he swore to never eat that stale bread again, he should be enjoying life with the money he earned, and head out.
His daily routine would then be to exit the north gates and summon undead minions until his mana ran out. He would then, much to the horror of the other beginners, proceed to calmly harvest herbs escorted by a horde of walking, rotting flesh, summoning more whenever he had the mana. Occasionally, killing the unlucky animal, giving him some experience.
Wondering around the fields with a horde of undead, picking any herbs he could find, he received the nickname 'wondering death', not because of how dangerous he is, but how much he stank, causing no one to go near him. Not that he minded, he didn't suffer from solitude, he enjoyed every minute of it. Besides, it sounded cool so whats the harm.
Picking up all the herbs he could find and collect in safety, he would send his minions to mindlessly wander around in the forest, killing anything it came across until they returned here tomorrow in the morning. This gave him a steady flow of exp for his necromancer job, even though he did next to nothing.

During his time as the wandering stench, he harvested many herbs around the north gate plains and in the forest. He had found this flower, hypnofleur, and this weird vine, redvine. He was truly puzzled at how people would name a blur vine 'redvine', 'those people must be crazy' Shiro had though, Kuro just calmly retorted with a 'and you're the one to talk'.
Having spent ages experimenting, he also had some new recipes, enabling him to make a total of 8 potions. Health potion, mana potion, poison, antidote, flammable potion, fake poison, shiny potion and hypnotising potion, all basic.
Health and mana were just recovery potions, and the poison and antidote were simple and weak. The flammable potion basically caught on fire easily and burnt well, the fake poison looked like poison but was actually an antidote, and the hypnotising potion gave you hallucinations, but it was weak. He knew because he tested it on himself, not the best idea.
Lastly, the shiny potion, well, turned your skin shiny for the next 30mins. He has no idea what that could be used but still, a recipe is a recipe. The youth decided to always have at least ten of each in handy. All the potions stack in one box, and there is a translucent toolbar like thing that always floats around in your sight, telling you what potions you have.
The crimson-eyed teen had mainly made health and mana potions as the sold easily and were easy to make, though the hypnotising potions sold quite well too. His alchemist level was progressing smoothly, his potions were just a tad worse, but worse is still worse.
His necromancy job, on the other hand, was almost stagnant. Necromancer is a fighting class and required killing to earn exp while alchemist is an artisans class, where it was harder to raise levels since all you can do is make things. His summon undead skill level, however, is progressing smoothly. Reaching level 4, he had gained the ability to summon not only sluggish zombies but also lesser skeletons, wisps and gouls, which was basically a better zombie.

Being busy with his necromancy and money earning, he had neglected his warlock skills, leaving for another time.
By the time he would have finished disbanding his gang of walking corpses, it would already be midafternoon. Waiting for the herbs to grow overnight, he would head to the marketplace to sell his potions, and of course, buy cool things.
Necromancy, famous for its horrid stench, was by far the least popular job. That was good for the scheming vampire because that meant that necromancer items were extremely cheap in the auction house. In fact, the owners of such drop would be happy just to get the thing off their hands for a bit of money, after all, necromancy items dropped just as often as all the other classes.
The black-haired teen would find a nice place to sit down in the market square and sell his potions. Browsing the auctions houses for any good items, he was not poor like all those other adventures, trying to catch up to the rankers. Not many people chose an artisans job, and most of those people were casual players. Hardcore players who take up crafting are rare and have good wares as well as a lot of it. That made them rich fellas.
The vampire had bought himself a whole set of nice equipment for just a few gold when for a warrior, something of that standard would cost a fortune.
After selling all his potions, the vampire would then return home to make more potions, buying more bottles on the way. The owner would always joke about him stealing business, but she was happy to have fewer potions to make.
Following this set routine for a month, he had become quite strong and rich. But soon these peaceful days will end, only time shall tell. Hehehe.

Summoner's Journey
[Before you read - the story is officially dead. The reasons behind it are posted in the last chapter.] In a magic world on the verge of an industrial revolution, Ari Ragnarsson must uncover the truth behind his parents' disappearance. They were part of an organization known as the Order, which protects mankind from various threats - both human and supernatural. Now, after Ari's brands finally manifest, he leaves the safety of his village and travels to the continent. Strength is all that matters in this world and he must learn how to control his powers. There, he meets a man from another world, who's being hunted for merely existing. Their fates become intertwined, but not in a way either of them would appreciate. Author's note (contains minor non-story related spoilers about the MC and setting) This is a progression fantasy with LITRPG elements sprinkled on top. The main character is not a spellsword, but a summoner/support mage hybrid. Since he wasn't ambushed by a random god, there's no cheat item/spell and he has to rely on his skills and wits to survive in a world full of monsters. The story tries to show the moment when the old starts to be replaced by the new, with a healthy dose of magic and a little steampunk in the background. Also, it revolves around a party dynamic akin to RPG sessions. No health/mana bars. Numbers are secondary and the LITRPG elements focus more on classes/spells/runes and their evolutions. Tables are sparse at the beginning, but from chapter 7 onwards they appear more often. Still, I won't be copy-pasting the whole character sheet dozens of times per chapter.
